CHAPTER 355: CHAPTER 355: COMPLETELY UNFAMILIAR

Designer: Luna Monroe.

"Mom?" She looked at Damian Knight in disbelief, "These earrings were designed by my mom?"

Damian Knight nodded, "It’s quite a coincidence. I happened to pass by an auction and saw these earrings, and it turned out the designer was your mom. What a coincidence, don’t you think?"

In fact, heaven knows how much effort he put into finding these earrings.

Summer Monroe’s eyes welled with tears; she knew the coincidence Damian Knight mentioned was untrue.

How many such coincidences are there in the world?

She sniffed and said gratefully, "Damian, thank—"

"Don’t!" Damian blocked her lips with his finger, reminding her, "Have you forgotten what I said before? What are you supposed to say now?"

Summer’s face heated up, and she pushed away Damian’s hand, awkwardly saying, "Damian, you are truly kind."

Damian snapped his fingers, "Now that’s more like it. But later, you’ll have to say that again."

"Why?"

"Look at the other gift."

After receiving the first gift, Summer was intensely curious about the second one.

She hurriedly unwrapped the second gift. After removing the beautiful outer packaging, she saw that the second gift was in an exceedingly simple bag.

But Summer knew that the contents were certainly not simple.

Summer opened it and found it filled with incense sticks.

While others might think this item was inauspicious, Summer instantly recognized them as the sleep aid handcrafted by Mrs. William.

This was something you couldn’t buy in the market, and Mrs. William never gave it to anyone else, only for her use.

Seeing the sleep aid left Summer speechless.

Damian watched Summer’s reaction and did not interrupt, simply watching her gaze at the sleep aid in a trance.

After a long while, Summer finally snapped out of it and picked out a stick to sniff—indeed, it was a familiar scent.

She turned to look at Damian, and for the first time, she said on her own, "Damian, you are truly kind."

Damian’s eyes widened for a moment, then he laughed, "If I had known meeting your mother-in-law would make you so happy, I would have visited her earlier."

Summer was silent for two seconds, then suddenly asked nervously, "When you went, did anyone notice you?"

"Don’t worry, I was afraid of bringing trouble to them, so I changed cars more than ten times on the way."

Summer breathed a sigh of relief, then asked, "Are Dad and Mom okay?"

Damian nodded, "They’re fine, just miss you a lot."

Summer’s eyes reddened a little, and she quickly wiped away the tears at the corner of her eyes, forcing a smile, "Thank you so much, Damian."

Damian shook his head nonchalantly, "Just happened to be on the way."

As he spoke, he suddenly thought of something and said, "Oh! I almost forgot something important."

Summer gave him a questioning look, and Damian took out a letter from his coat pocket and handed it to her, saying, "This is from Pat; he asked me to give it to you."

Summer quickly took it but didn’t open it immediately because there was something more important to do.

"Cece is in the servant’s quarters at the manor right now. I just gave her something to reduce the fever; by now, she should be better. She really wants to see you, would you like to go see her?"

Mentioning Cece, Damian’s expression turned grave, losing the earlier lightheartedness.

After a moment of happiness, the cold reality still had to be faced.

He already knew Donnie and Nate were gone, and Bella’s fate was uncertain.

The fact that he couldn’t blow that guy up that day still frustrated him whenever he thought about it.
