The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day
Chapter 39: Stealing the Business Card
CHAPTER 39: CHAPTER 39: STEALING THE BUSINESS CARD
Summer Monroe walked to the door and cautiously opened it a crack.
Only to see Clarissa Stanton reluctantly holding a platter of fruit, saying, "Dad asked me to bring this to you. He wants you to go to the study for a bit."
"Got it." Summer said as she reached out a hand to take the fruit platter.
Clarissa Stanton instinctively glanced towards the doorway. Summer stepped to the left to block her view and asked coldly, "Anything else?"
Clarissa Stanton pouted, turned, and walked away.
Summer closed the door, walked back to her computer, and deleted all her browsing history clean, before opening the door and heading to Henry Stanton’s study.
What Summer didn’t know was that two minutes later, Clarissa Stanton sneakily approached the door, holding a spare key in her hand.
With a "click," the door opened, and Clarissa Stanton quickly stepped inside and closed the door.
Her gaze swept over the entire room, muttering to herself, "Not letting me see, what’s hidden in this room that could cause harm?"
Clarissa Stanton quickly rummaged through Summer’s cabinet but found nothing.
Just as she was about to leave, she caught sight of Summer’s coat hanging on the standing coat rack with her peripheral vision.
She quickly walked over, took the coat down, and felt the pockets, retrieving a business card from inside.
Upon seeing whose business card it was, Clarissa Stanton’s eyes instantly gleamed with greed.
It was Damian Knight’s business card!
Summer actually had Damian Knight’s business card!
And clearly, Summer hadn’t told Dad about this. Otherwise, the card wouldn’t be here but in Dad’s study.
Well, well, Summer dared to keep this from Dad. She’s going to tell!
Holding the business card, Clarissa Stanton was about to go find Henry Stanton, but her thoughts suddenly changed as she reached the doorway—
Instead of giving the card to Dad and having Dad scold Summer meaninglessly, why not keep the card for herself?
With this business card, wouldn’t it be easier to meet Damian Knight or create opportunities for herself?
Having made up her mind, Clarissa Stanton put everything back in place in the room, tucked the business card away, and quietly slipped out of Summer’s room.
In Henry Stanton’s study.
As Summer pushed the door open, Henry Stanton greeted her with a beaming smile, inviting her to sit.
Summer obediently sat opposite Henry Stanton.
Henry Stanton directly slid a stack of contracts toward her, saying, "The contract for representing the Midnight Coffee House image has been delivered to me. I took a look and found no issues. You should also take a look, and if there are no problems, sign the contract."
His tone was indulgent yet brooked no dissent, leaving Summer no room to refuse signing the contract.
Summer said nothing, took the contract, and skimmed through it.
In terms of compensation, the Knight Group offered a very generous package, even exceeding the endorsement fee of a first-tier star.
Furthermore, as a representative of the Midnight Coffee House, there was a privilege to stay for free at any hotel under the Knight Group for ten years.
Never mind the compensation, the privilege of staying for free at any hotel under the Knight Group for ten years alone was enough to tempt many people.
Summer’s heart remained unperturbed; she had no interest in becoming a spokesperson.
But now, for the sake of her goal, she had no choice but to agree and even pretend to be very pleased.
Summer put down the contract, suppressing her inner displeasure, and said with a cheerful smile, "I have no problems, so I’ll sign?"
"Go ahead, sign it. I’ll go with you to the Knight Group tomorrow to deliver the contract. You’re new to the big city, and I don’t feel at ease letting you go to an unfamiliar place alone."
Since when did Henry Stanton become so considerate? It would be suspicious if he didn’t have ulterior motives!
