CHAPTER 66: CHAPTER 66: READING TOO MUCH INTO IT

Just as Summer Monroe was tangled up in her thoughts, there was a knock on the bathroom door followed by the voice of her assistant: "Miss Sadie, the clothes have arrived."

Hearing that it wasn’t Damian Knight, Summer Monroe let out a sigh of relief, opened the bathroom door slightly, and took the bag from her assistant’s hand to change into the clothes.

Before long, the assistant only heard a "click" as the bathroom door opened.

A rush of steam surged out from inside, and within the steam, a figure slowly emerged.

The outfit the assistant brought was an off-shoulder spaghetti strap dress intended for outdoor photoshoots soon; the dress was a fairy-tale-like pale purple, which required a fair skin tone, but Summer Monroe’s skin was so fair it seemed to glow, so she could pull off the color flawlessly.

The style of the dress was very princess-like, and as Summer Monroe walked out slowly from the steam, she looked like the most beautiful Empyrean Princess.

As soon as Summer Monroe came out of the bathroom, she noticed her assistant staring at her with wide eyes, seemingly spellbound.

She laughed and asked, "What’s wrong?"

Her assistant snapped out of it, shaking their head, and flattered: "Nothing, nothing, it’s just you’re too beautiful. I thought my fairy tale book accidentally opened and a princess walked out."

Amused, Summer Monroe said, "You’re such a smooth talker, but it’s getting late, we need to hurry to the shoot."

The assistant, remembering what Damian Knight had instructed, quickly said, "No rush, have this bowl of ginger tea first."

Summer Monroe glanced at the steaming ginger tea in her assistant’s hand and shook her head, saying, "Never mind, let’s go directly. The shoot over there can’t be delayed."

Just then, the suite door was pushed open, and Damian Knight’s voice sounded: "No need to worry, I’ve already arranged it. Drink the ginger tea to warm up first."

Summer Monroe was about to refuse again when she heard Damian Knight say: "The castle belongs to a friend of mine, he’ll be on site, and he won’t charge us a dime."

Only then did Summer Monroe obediently sit down to drink the ginger tea.

The ginger tea was very hot. Summer Monroe took small sips, suddenly feeling a burning gaze fixed on her.

She instinctively turned her head and saw Damian Knight looking at her intensely.

Hmm?

Was he finding her attractive?

Summer Monroe was just about to speak when Damian Knight spoke first: "The outfit looks pretty good, quite fitting for today’s outdoor shoot theme."

Summer Monroe: "..."

So, he was just looking at the outfit?

Seems like she was overthinking it, Summer Monroe pursed her lips, said "Oh," and continued sipping her ginger tea.

Though outwardly calm, she felt a dull ache inside that made it hard for her to breathe.

She didn’t notice Damian Knight’s subtle expression of relief after she turned her head back.

Having finished the ginger tea, the assistant draped a warm, large scarf over her, making Summer Monroe feel loose and much warmer.

But even if she felt warm enough, the moment they stepped out of the suite, Damian Knight suddenly took off his own coat, tossed it to her like he was throwing away trash.

Summer Monroe was stunned but gratefully said, "Thanks, but I’m not cold anymore, it’s okay."

It was just early autumn, and as long as she didn’t get wet, it wasn’t that cold.

Yet Damian Knight coldly said, "I’m not giving it to you for warmth, the outfit can’t be exposed before the commercial release."

So...

It was just to cover her dress?

Summer Monroe’s face froze, and she no longer refused, stiffly draping Damian Knight’s coat over herself.

This was the second time she misunderstood Damian Knight, and she secretly vowed there wouldn’t be a third.

Walking downstairs, Damian Knight got into the business car from before, while Summer Monroe and the assistant took a minivan to the castle.

Seeing that Summer Monroe’s expression didn’t look good, the assistant tried to cheer her up, saying, "Miss Sadie, Young Master Knight is really kind to you. First, he instructed me to make ginger tea for you, and then he gave you his coat. So, do you think Young Master Knight is..."
