The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day
Chapter 8: A Viper
CHAPTER 8: CHAPTER 8: A VIPER
Clarissa Stanton quickly recovered her mood with the coffee competition champion title. After tidying up her appearance, she went downstairs together with Stella Monroe.
The first thing Clarissa Stanton did after coming downstairs was to look for Damian Knight, but she searched around and didn’t see Damian Knight anywhere.
She pulled over a close socialite friend and asked, "Where’s Young Master Knight?"
"Young Master Knight left a long time ago."
"Did he say anything before he left?" Clarissa Stanton pressed further.
The socialite thought for a moment and said, "He was always talking to your sister, surrounded by bodyguards, so I couldn’t hear what they were saying. But their conversation seemed very unpleasant."
"Unpleasant?" Clarissa Stanton’s expression brightened, and she asked, "How unpleasant?"
"I don’t know; anyway, after Young Master Knight said something, he just left, and your sister chased after him wanting to say something else but was stopped by his bodyguards."
"So, in other words, Young Master Knight isn’t very close with her either."
The socialite nodded and said, "Of course, your sister may be pretty, but she’s from the countryside. The Knight Family is such a high-status family, how could they be very familiar with a country girl? Clarissa, you mustn’t lose heart; I think only you in Crestfall can match Young Master Knight!"
Clarissa Stanton cheered up and raised her eyebrows, saying, "I like you very much. I’ll tell my father to give your family a few more orders."
"That’s great! Clarissa, thank you..."
While they were talking, Clarissa Stanton suddenly heard a few socialites not far away mocking, "Clarissa Stanton still has the face to come downstairs? She saw her sister and fainted from rage..."
"If I were her, I’d stay at home for three years, wait until everyone forgets this before coming downstairs!"
Clarissa Stanton, furious, was about to go over and argue with them.
But halfway there, she suddenly stopped.
No! She couldn’t clash with these socialites.
These people are fickle; they sway with the wind and aren’t worth her anger at all.
If she argues with them, it would only damage her image as a socialite.
Soon there will be a socialite ranking in Crestfall, and these daily interactions are all taken into account in the scoring.
The focus now is on Summer Monroe, that countryside woman!
As long as Summer Monroe is dealt with, who could outshine her?
Then these people naturally wouldn’t have anything to gossip about.
A vague idea slowly emerged in Clarissa Stanton’s mind...
Summer Monroe should disappear as soon as possible, can’t be like her mom, taking it slow.
The longer it drags, who knows what trouble Summer Monroe might bring?
Night has fallen.
The guests have all left, the servants have cleaned the hall, and each has returned to their room to sleep.
Summer Monroe’s room was already prepared, Henry Stanton gave her a suite with a balcony, which was a high level of treatment, showing that Henry Stanton valued her greatly.
Of course, Summer Monroe was very aware that Henry Stanton didn’t value her as a person, but the benefits she could bring Henry Stanton.
Meanwhile, Summer Monroe also noticed that from the latter half of the banquet onwards, a servant had been watching her secretly, monitoring her.
So when she was getting ready to sleep, Summer Monroe was on high alert.
Who knows what bad ideas the people in this villa are scheming against her?
Clarissa Stanton tossed and turned, thinking about how to deal with Summer Monroe.
Suddenly, she had a brilliant idea.
"Nanny, come to my room for a while."
She dialed the nanny’s number, and soon the nanny knocked and entered.
The nanny asked right away, "Big Miss, what instructions do you have?"
After receiving that bracelet worth a million, the nanny was even more loyal to this mother-and-daughter pair.
Even though the servants had started calling Clarissa Stanton the Second Miss, she still called Clarissa Stanton Big Miss, only recognizing Clarissa Stanton as the Miss.
Clarissa Stanton inquired, "Has that little bitch over there shown any unusual behavior?"
The nanny shook her head and said, "After the banquet, Miss Monroe was called to the study by the master for a talk, she seemed to have gotten a bank card, probably the master gave her some pocket money. After that, she returned to her room to sleep, and besides asking for water once, there were no other unusual actions."
Clarissa Stanton’s eyes burned with jealousy.
Her pocket money was always given by her mother, Henry Stanton was very stingy, yet on the first day Summer Monroe returned, she actually got a card!
She was even more determined to make Summer Monroe disappear immediately.
"Nanny, I need something, you help me get it, and then put it in her room."
"What thing?"
"A venomous snake!"
She had figured it out, their family lived on an estate, located on a mountain, if a snake crawled into Summer Monroe’s room at midnight and bit her to death, Summer Monroe’s death would be purely accidental, and no one would trace it back to her!
"A—a venomous snake? You want to poison her with a snake?"
The nanny’s hands trembled a bit, though she had done quite a few bad things for this mother and daughter, she had never committed murder.
"What? You don’t want to?"
"It’s not that I don’t want to... I’m loyal to you and the madam." The nanny explained, "Mainly, the madam has said, for now, not to startle the snake..."
"Enough! I don’t want to hear this, mom is weak, doesn’t understand the logic of delays causing unforeseen problems. Taking action first is the right way! If you don’t want to do it, there are others who would willingly do it. However, nanny, I recall your younger son is addicted to gambling, right? To fill his hole, you’ve taken quite a few things from our house, right?"
The nanny looked at Clarissa Stanton incredulously.
Such a young age, she had learned to use people’s weaknesses to blackmail them into doing things!
She had taken valuable things from the estate, and judging by their worth, it was enough to sentence her to a long time in prison...
Clarissa Stanton continued, "Of course, nanny, you’ve watched me grow up, I won’t be that ruthless, as long as you help me with this task, those things will always remain a secret. Moreover, in the future, whenever you need money, you can come directly to me. Nanny, what do you choose? Do it, or not do it?"
The nanny slowly closed her eyes.
Did she have a choice?
The night got deeper.
Summer Monroe had already entered her dream, but she kept a taut string in her mind, able to wake up instantly if there was any disturbance in the room.
Halfway through sleep, she suddenly heard fine sounds on the windowsill.
Summer Monroe woke up immediately, but she didn’t move, maintaining the position lying flat.
Just heard footsteps on the balcony side, stayed for a few seconds, the footsteps gradually faded away, and quickly disappeared.
Someone had gone to her balcony!
However, that person did not come in, didn’t know what they did.
Summer Monroe lay for a while longer, confirmed that the person did not return, she used the smartphone Henry Stanton gave her, using the weak light of the phone’s screen to illuminate.
She was sure the balcony side was free of people.
Just stood there for a while and left, what did they come to do? Monitoring if she was asleep?
Couldn’t be that simple!
