The Billionaire's Forgotten Wife
Chapter 155: Visiting Mom
CHAPTER 155: VISITING MOM
After finishing her talk with Georgia, Cassidy opened her contacts, found Zeke’s name, and called him.
It didn’t take long before Zeke picked up.
"Hey, baby. Why are you calling me? Do you miss me?" Zeke teased, made Cassidy chuckle softly.
"Why do you always think I miss you whenever I call? Do you think I’m still a teenager, constantly missing you, even though we see each other every day and live under the same roof?" Cassidy replied, teasing back since Zeke kept joking.
"So you don’t miss me? But I really miss you, baby," Zeke said, sounding a little sad but Cassidy knew he was just pretending.
But Cassidy couldn’t deny it, hearing him say he missed her made a smile spread across her pretty face. "I miss you a little," Cassidy admitted honestly.
"I knew you missed me, baby. I always miss you, all the time," Zeke said, not stopping with his words of longing, making Cassidy shake her head at his antics.
"Okay, okay. I know you miss me so much, but enough with that. I called to tell you I want to see my mom," Cassidy explained.
Zeke was quiet for a few seconds before asking, "You want to see your mom? What time?"
"Now. Maybe after I get ready. I just wanted to let you know," Cassidy said, asking for Zeke’s permission. She knew he wouldn’t let her go out without the bodyguards watching.
"Okay. I’ll come over. We can visit your mom together," Zeke replied.
He decided to see Teresa because it had been a long time since he last met Cassidy’s mother. Even back when Claire was in the hospital, he hadn’t visited her because he and Cassidy weren’t back together yet.
"So, you’re coming too to see my mom? Aren’t you busy?" Cassidy asked, a little surprised but mostly happy that Zeke would accompany her.
"The important work is done. The rest can be handled by Andrew," Zeke said, picking up the jacket he had placed behind his chair and putting it on.
"Okay. I’ll wait for you, and then we can go to Georgia’s house together," Cassidy truly appreciating what Zeke was doing. She knew he was busy, yet he insisted on going with her to see her mother. His willingness to come with her despite being busy made Cassidy love Zeke even more.
Last month, after Teresa was cleared to stay at home, Sandro, Raymond, Georgia, and Cassidy decided to bring her to live at Georgia’s house in Manhattan.
They all agreed on this plan not only to give their mother a change of environment and have Georgia look after her. But also to prevent her from going back to their father’s house, where she might be triggered by unpleasant memories.
At first, their father, Julian, didn’t agree with the decision. They even argued with him, leaving him with no choice to object. Eventually, he agreed—on the condition that he would move in with their mother at Georgia’s house as well. They had no choice but to accept it.
After ending the call with Cassidy, Zeke called Andrew into his office.
"Andrew, I’m heading home early today," Zeke said as Andrew entered.
"Okay, sir. Should I take care of anything before you leave?"
"Yeah. And please only call me if it’s really important," Zeke said, emphasizing the part about not wanting to be disturbed, his eyes fixed on Andrew. "I don’t want work matters bothering me once I’m home."
Andrew understood completely. He knew Zeke wanted to spend time with his family without any interruptions when at home. Nodding in acknowledgment, he replied, "Understood, sir."
Zeke gave a small nod, then stood up, ready to leave his office and head home.
When he arrived at the villa, Cassidy was already ready and waiting in the living room.
"Hey, baby. Sorry if I kept you waiting," Zeke said as he saw her.
"It’s okay. I’m glad you’re coming with me," Cassidy replied, smiling warmly at him and holding his hand.
Zeke returned her smile with a kiss on her forehead. "Alright. If you’re ready, let’s go."
Cassidy frowned slightly at Zeke’s formal outfit—his suit and shiny black shoes looked so different from her casual clothes. "Don’t you want to change first?"
Zeke glanced at his clothes and smiled. "Should I? You don’t like what I’m wearing?"
Cassidy shook her head. "It’s not that. It’s just... your clothes are too formal. Doesn’t it feel uncomfortable wearing a suit?"
"Why? I think it fits the situation. Meeting my future mother-in-law and sister-in-law," Zeke teased with a playful smile.
Her cheeks flushed, and Cassidy quickly said, "I think you should change..."
Zeke laughed at her reaction—she always blushed whenever he teased her. "Alright. Your wish is my command."
Cassidy gave him a gentle jab in the chest, playfully scolding him for not stopping his teasing.
Zeke left Cassidy to change his clothes. He picked a white polo shirt that matched Cassidy’s blouse and cream-colored pants that matched her pants. He swapped his shiny dress shoes for more casual loafers. Their outfits screamed ’couple look’, it was obvious to anyone. Zeke did it on purpose.
Satisfied with his outfit, he whistled happily as he walked back to the living room.
When Cassidy saw him, her face immediately flushed. She knew Zeke had deliberately chosen to match her. Lately, whenever they went out together, he always tried to coordinate his outfit with hers. It left Cassidy amazed—wasn’t it usually the woman who liked wearing couple looks? Somehow, it felt like their roles had reversed.
"How do I look, baby?" Zeke asked, turning around for Cassidy to see.
Cassidy shook her head in amazement at how much Zeke’s personality had changed from the image she once had of him.
"Awesome. You look so handsome, babe," Cassidy said, using the term of affection she rarely said, still feeling a little shy to call him that.
"Thanks, baby. You look beautiful too," Zeke replied, smiling wide at her compliment.
Cassidy shook her head, amazed at how much Zeke had changed. She liked this Zeke more—open, laughing, smiling, and most of all, loving her. Every day, she could see how much he cared for her and Claire.
"Okay, let’s go now," Cassidy said, taking Zeke’s hand as they walked out of the villa.
