CHAPTER 193: CHAPTER 193: WEALTHY SECOND GENERATION PK SUPER WEALTHY SECOND GENERATION (EXTRA UPDATE) _1
Liang Sheng followed her gaze to Huang Xiaojue and sneered. "President Huang, perfect timing. I was just looking for you. This female swindler works for your company, doesn’t she? Fire her, quickly..."
Huang Xiaojue instantly understood and casually stepped in front of Yan Xixi. "Ha, what a coincidence. President Liang, you’re here for a movie too?"
"President Huang, let’s not beat around the bush. This female swindler is no good. If you fire her, I’ll drop the matter."
Huang Xiaojue raised an eyebrow, feigning surprise. "President Liang, are you perhaps mistaken? She’s just a junior employee at our company. How could she have offended a great patron like you?"
"This female swindler is suspected of fraud and contractual deception! I must hold her legally accountable! We’re a major state-owned enterprise; we won’t be duped by such despicable characters!"
Huang Xiaojue chuckled. "President Liang, you must be joking. She’s just a newcomer; how could she be suspected of fraud? Besides, who would be so bold as to challenge you? President Liang, are you absolutely sure you haven’t mistaken her for someone else? Tell me, if such a thing truly happened, I certainly wouldn’t shield any unlawful employee."
Liang Sheng’s face flushed then paled. How could he possibly voice such an embarrassing matter?
He remained silent. Huang Xiaojue, unhurried, grinned. "President Liang, are you still caught up in the movie’s comedy plot and haven’t snapped back to reality?"
When Liang Sheng first saw Yan Xixi, he had been so enraged he’d lost his composure. But now, seeing the crowded cinema and Huang Xiaojue’s demeanor, he instantly realized that saying anything more would just make him a laughingstock. He was, after all, a seasoned veteran. If Yan Xixi had been alone, he would have dared to act ruthlessly at once. The problem was, there was definitely no chance now.
That day, Yan Xixi had thoroughly played him, almost forcing him to sign the agreement while he was overwhelmed with calls from major disease prevention stations and rushing to inspections. Gradually, he came to his senses and realized he’d been duped by Yan Xixi. He then found the fortune-teller again, and with a single threat, the man had no choice but to admit he’d taken Yan Xixi’s money beforehand.
To be a lifelong eagle hunter, only to be blinded by a mere sparrow—how could he swallow such humiliation? He fumed at the thought that he’d only managed to touch her hand, a beauty as lovely as a flower. What was even more infuriating was discovering, when he finally had time to examine the contract closely, that Yan Xixi had deleted all the harsh clauses for the initial years. To think, even the women he’d slept with before hadn’t received such favorable terms! Yet this female swindler had given him nothing in return, merely reaping such a huge advantage for free!
Several deputies would also need to review this contract, and he had many political enemies. If someone found a loophole and attacked him, his future would be in jeopardy. Worse still, rumors had somehow started circulating privately within the company that he had AIDS. Many people began to avoid him. Even some of the flirtatious female employees who used to fawn over him now kept their distance. Though it wasn’t actually AIDS, his recent checkup had indeed revealed genital warts again.
The fig leaf covering his carefully guarded secrets had been torn away. Even the newest, lowest-ranking employees in the company were spreading the salacious gossip. Only then did Liang Sheng truly realize that he’d been completely exposed, stripped of any shred of a powerful man’s dignity.
He hated Yan Xixi to the bone, desperate to eliminate her and be done with it. Yet there she was, cowering behind Huang Xiaojue like a timid turtle, utterly silent, pretending to be a harmless little bunny.
