"I guess you could say that. Xiaoya, I can’t continue in this stalemate with him. As long as I hold this boutique, he won’t leave me alone. I know you’ve poured a lot of your heart and soul into this. But I have no choice. I have to give it back to him. Otherwise, my life will eventually be lost at his hands."

Xu Xiaoya could hardly believe it and whispered, "I thought Wan Donglin treated you well. I never expected him to actually beat you like this."

"Is there anything we can’t say to each other?"

"You stabbed Wan Donglin so badly, yet he never laid a finger on you. If he didn’t love you, would he tolerate so much from you? You lied in front of his mother, and he didn’t expose you. Isn’t it because he’s afraid his mother won’t like you?"

Yan Xixi’s heart jolted.

Xu Xiaoya sighed inwardly. It’s true that bystanders always see things most clearly. Then she said, "Wan Donglin helped bury your mother, supported you through university, and even gave you such a large shop. Even after you stabbed him, he didn’t make a sound. How many men in this world could do that? Could Huang Xiaojue do it? I’m not like Zhou Xiaoxuan; I’ve never been infatuated with Huang Xiaojue. I don’t even understand his appeal. So, instinctively, I lean towards Wan Donglin."

"Huang Xiaojue is wonderful, beyond reproach. But have you ever considered this: if his mother finds out about all this, what will she think of you? "Alright! Xixi, since you’ve made your decision, I fully agree. I’ll handle everything properly until Wan Donglin sends someone new to take over."

Yan Xixi smiled. "Xiaoya, don’t worry. I’ll think about it; maybe we can open some other small shop."

"Alright. I have experience now. I’ll take some time off and then look into what to do next."

Yan Xixi took out a small bag. "These are copies of my ID and other documents. Give them to Zhang Xiang and ask him to change the legal representative. Also, give him this card to pass on to Wan Donglin."

Receiving the bag, Xu Xiaoya felt it was as heavy as lead. Unable to hold back, she suddenly asked, "Xixi, I think Wan Donglin is a really good man. Why don’t you love him?"

Yan Xixi was taken aback, utterly unsure how to respond.
