CHAPTER 75: CHAPTER 75 TRAP1_1

Yan Xixi hesitated slightly. It would be better to take a leave of absence, especially since this was the first time he had asked her to. But she stood by the bed for a while, noticing that he had turned on his side and seemed to have fallen asleep again. With a determined heart, she turned and left.

By the time she hurried into the classroom, it was already packed.

Out of habit, she walked towards her usual spot in the back row. As she approached, she saw a guy with black glasses standing near her seat, his backpack slung as if he was about to sit down. The guy sitting in the seat behind hers quickly stood up. "Don’t... classmate, someone’s sitting here..."

The man with the glasses was clearly annoyed. "This seat is empty, isn’t it? Who could possibly be here?"

The guy quickly placed a book on the desk. "There is... there is someone... They just went to the restroom and will be back soon."

The man with the black glasses looked around suspiciously. Since he had arrived late, there were no seats left nearby. Dejectedly, he had to make his way to the very back, where a few others were also standing in the aisle.

It was the first time Yan Xixi had arrived this late. As she walked by that seat, she felt a bit regretful. It seemed she would have to stand for half the day. As she was about to walk past, the guy suddenly grabbed her backpack, then immediately let go, his face flushing bright red. Stuttering, he said, "Classmate, your seat... You sit here..."

Yan Xixi was a little surprised but sat down. She graciously looked back and said, "Thank you," just as the teacher walked into the room.

Throughout the entire lecture, the guy in the back seat didn’t hear a word the teacher said. He just stared fixedly at the girl in front of him—her jet-black hair, her snow-white neck. Occasionally, she would bury her head to scribble notes.

He had been attending this class for half a year, once a week. Since the day he first noticed the girl in the front row, he had hardly ever missed it. He always arrived early and always sat behind her.

And so, he had come to see her neck as a painting.

He had found out her name was Yan Xixi, but he had never spoken a word to her, never even made an excuse to strike up a conversation. This was because she always came and left hurriedly, and he had never seen her speak to any other classmates.

Finally, class ended. The students rushed out of the large classroom like a tide, but Yan Xixi stayed behind, slowly reviewing her notes from the day.

This was her habit. After every class, she would take a few minutes to organize the main points of her notes from the day, meticulously reviewing and recalling them. She found this method of studying far more effective than reviewing later.

"Classmate Yan... I... I..."

She looked up to see the guy who had saved her seat. She smiled slightly. "Thank you."

The guy was of medium height and quite sturdy. He smiled innocently, scratching his head. "My name is Li Zhen. I’m in my second year of postgraduate studies..."

Why would a second-year postgraduate student come to this class? They don’t need to.

But Yan Xixi felt no curiosity about this. She had already packed her bag and stood up, nodding slightly. "Goodbye."

The guy chased after her. "Yan Xixi..."

She turned back. "Do you need something else?"

Li Zhen summoned all his courage. "You’re about to graduate. Could you leave me your phone number? I’m afraid I won’t be able to find you again... Here’s my phone number. You can take it. If you need anything, you can call me anytime..."

Only then did Yan Xixi take a good look at him. The boy’s face was bright red, and his eyes held an honest, sincere look.

She suddenly thought of Huang Xiaojue, and her heart darkened. Without answering him, she just turned around and walked away.
