CHAPTER 88: CHAPTER 85 A LIGHT BEFORE THE EYES
"Miss Hua, please this way," Lin Fen said, smiling warmly at Hua Xiaomo.
President Qi had many girlfriends, but he had never allowed any of them to work at the Qi Family company. His treatment of Hua Xiaomo, however, was quite special.
Hua Xiaomo didn’t say much, following Lin Fen out of the office.
However, when she returned, she wasn’t wearing the cream-colored professional dress. Instead, she had changed into women’s trousers and paired them with burgundy high heels. With every step, she felt as if she were floating.
Okay, she just wasn’t born to wear high heels. The last time she had to wear them was to accompany Qi Longbing to a banquet, and her feet ached for days afterward!
Wearing high heels was pure torture.
"Not bad..." Qi Longbing observed her, a hint of pleasant surprise in his eyes. She was already tall, and the heels made her appear even more slender. The high-quality trousers elegantly accentuated her curves, creating a look that was both perfect and harmonious.
The black trousers, paired with her lantern-sleeved sky-blue blouse, gave her a strikingly fresh appearance.
Venus...
The name magically surfaced in his mind. A roguish smile touched Qi Longbing’s eyes, making his handsome, angelic face even more captivating.
He gazed at her, his look deeply meaningful. He vividly remembered how he had smirked while appraising the body of the Venus Statue...
Hua Xiaomo felt her scalp tingle under his stare. What on earth was this guy trying to do?
"AHEM..." Hua Xiaomo coughed lightly, covering her lips with a hand to break the strange and uncomfortable atmosphere.
Qi Longbing smiled faintly, quickly reigning in his thoughts. His gaze gently shifted from her face down to her attire.
If she wore a metallic necklace and matching bracelets, she would look even more radiant.
Qi Longbing observed everything, silently committing it to memory.
"President Qi, I’ll be leaving now," Hua Xiaomo said, offering him a bland smile.
Qi Longbing had wanted to ask her to wait for him so they could have lunch together. But upon hearing her words, he quickly dismissed the thought.
"Ms. Lin, please escort Miss Hua downstairs. Then have Assistant Yu take her back to the villa," Qi Longbing instructed.
Hua Xiaomo wanted to say something but bit back her words and remained silent.
"Yes, President Qi."
Soon, Hua Xiaomo left the building with Lin Fen and got into Yu Bao’s gray-silver Lamborghini.
"Mr. Yu, I need to go back to McDonald’s. Could you please take me there?" Hua Xiaomo said to Yu Bao.
"Miss Hua... if you go there again, President Qi might get upset..." Yu Bao said slowly as he drove.
"I’m not going there to work. I just need to tell the manager—to give him my notice, really—that I won’t be working there anymore. Starting tomorrow, I’ll be at Qi Imperial Court," Hua Xiaomo explained, a faint, hidden glint in her eyes.
How has this past month dragged on for so long?
"Alright, that should be fine. I’ll take you there now," Yu Bao replied.
Before long, he had dropped her off at the McDonald’s entrance.
"Miss Hua, would you like me to accompany you inside?" Yu Bao asked, a gentle smile on his face.
It seemed President Qi had truly developed feelings for her; otherwise, why would he want to keep her by his side at all times?
"No, thank you. I can go in by myself," Hua Xiaomo said with a smile, then walked into McDonald’s.
Everything was as she remembered. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded or too empty. And there was Manager Zhou Xiyang, always with his kind smile, making the place feel warm and familiar.
Hua Xiaomo saw he was busy, so she sat in a corner for a while before approaching him. "Hi, Manager."
"Xiao Mo!" Zhou Xiyang exclaimed, looking at her with excitement. His handsome, well-defined features seemed even more attractive and radiant.
