The Billionaire's New Wife in Chief
Chapter 670 - 156: Injured Palm
CHAPTER 670: CHAPTER 156: INJURED PALM
All of this happened so suddenly that apart from Song Qiao, who herself had not yet reacted, even the person who was hit did not expect someone to rush over and bump into him so hastily.
The phone in her hand had already fallen to one side due to inertia, causing Song Qiao to frown involuntarily. Just as she was about to get up to pick up her phone, she saw a pair of large, slender hands that clearly belonged to a man appear in front of her.
Song Qiao was slightly stunned, and subconsciously looked up, meeting the sight of a handsome face. Upon seeing the man’s features clearly, she immediately froze in place.
"Sorry, it was my fault for not looking ahead. Are you alright?" The man’s deep and mellow voice sounded, though lacking the sexiness of Jingchen’s voice, it was nevertheless very pleasant to hear. With a hint of regret on his face, he looked as if he truly believed the fault was his.
Song Qiao snapped back to reality and didn’t place her hand on the man’s, but instead tried to push herself up from the floor. However, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her hand and couldn’t help but inhale sharply. Placing her hand in front of her, she frowned upon seeing it.
Unbeknownst to her, her palm had been cut by a small piece of glass that had embedded into her flesh, causing a lot of blood to flow and giving off a somewhat gruesome appearance.
The man’s gaze shifted from her face to her hand, and he immediately knit his brows together. He had not failed to notice that Song Qiao had not wanted his help getting up but preferred to do so herself. Retracting his offered hand, he squatted down, and in the next instant reached out to take her injured hand into his, saying, "Someone broke a glass here earlier; it seems it wasn’t cleaned up properly. The cut isn’t too deep, but you should follow me to get it disinfected anyways, to prevent any infection."
Song Qiao, upon hearing his words, didn’t immediately respond. When she looked at the man again, she noticed he was wearing a white lab coat and realized that he must be a doctor at the hospital.
Subconsciously wanting to withdraw her hand, she spoke indifferently, "It’s nothing to worry about, a nurse can take care of it later."
The man’s gaze returned to her face, a gentle smile emerging as he still spoke with a hint of apology, "After all, I’m the one who caused this. You might have to pay some fees if you go to a nurse. It’s better if I take care of it for you, free of charge." After a moment’s thought, he added, "It might even end up with me owing you money."
Song Qiao, "..."
"Miss." Just then, a voice broke in, sounding somewhat out of breath.
Song Qiao subconsciously turned around and saw a middle-aged man running towards them. She recognized him upon closer inspection, belatedly remembering he was the taxi driver who had brought her earlier.
The taxi driver ran up to Song Qiao’s side, handed her bag to her, and the honest and straightforward driver said with a smile as he explained, "Miss, you left your bag in the car just now. I planned to wait outside for you, but I have to go pick up my son, so I brought it to you. Luckily, I found you."
