CHAPTER 529: CHAPTER 513: GAINING FRIENDSHIP
"That’s my... sister."
He heard a voice, and a figure dashed over like a little rocket, bumped into Hu Zi, and tightly embraced Bai Yiyi.
Jiang Xiaoxiao laughed.
Tang Yuan, who couldn’t speak clearly yet, had an unhappy look as he hugged Bai Yiyi. Bai Yiyi had been playing with Tang Yuan since she was little.
The two kids practically grew up together, especially since Bai Yiyi really liked Tang Yuan.
In Tang Yuan’s heart, this sister belonged only to him. Now suddenly finding another person trying to take his sister, he was naturally unhappy.
Hu Zi looked bewilderedly at this little one.
This round-headed, round-eyed little boy glared at him with big black eyes.
Bai Yiyi smiled, hugged Tang Yuan, and waved at Hu Zi.
Feng Na was just about to say something when Jiang Xiaoxiao pulled her to his side, signaling her to remain silent. Jiang Xiaoxiao said nothing, waiting to see what Bai Yiyi would do.
After a moment of silence, Hu Zi was already used to the unfriendliness from the village children.
Tang Yuan only bumped into him, but other kids would throw stones at him, even mud, and surround him shouting "Rabbit mouth."
He had become accustomed to this bullying, choosing silence as his usual response.
Yet he also wished for someone to play with him.
Bai Yiyi was the first gentle sister to be kind to him.
The sister waved at him, but he was afraid of Tang Yuan glaring at him furiously.
Finally, the longing for friendship overcame the fear in his heart, and he slowly walked over to Bai Yiyi’s side.
As soon as Bai Yiyi saw him get close, she pulled Hu Zi over to her.
With one hand holding each child, she let them face each other.
Hu Zi flinched, scared of Tang Yuan.
Though he was much older than Tang Yuan, he knew Tang Yuan must be the child of the household’s adults.
He had seen many families whose children bullied him, and then those families’ adults would come looking for trouble.
If he dared to fight back, even more harm awaited him.
He wasn’t incapable of fighting others; he just understood that whether he fought back or was hit, the result was the same.
His grandparents and father might even hit him again.
In time, the child developed a habit of enduring and bearing humiliation in the face of bullying.
Tang Yuan, however, stubbornly wanted to push away, not allowing this child to take his sister Yiyi.
Bai Yiyi grabbed Tang Yuan’s little hand.
"Tang Yuan, this is Hu Zi. Hu Zi, this little guy is Tang Yuan. From now on, you both are my brothers, and the three of us will play together. Tang Yuan, having another older brother to protect, love, and play with you isn’t bad, is it?"
With one sentence, Tang Yuan paused.
The little guy just loved to play.
Tang Yuan was very smart, different from other kids. He possessed wisdom beyond his age.
Even though Tang Yuan was just over one year old, he could understand a lot.
In Song Moting and Jiang Xiaoxiao’s education, Tang Yuan wasn’t a spoiled child.
He was very sensible, obedient, and reasonable, as long as he could understand the reasoning.
He generally listened, rather than being unreasonable and clinging.
Evidently, Tang Yuan understood Bai Yiyi’s words and reached out, proudly grabbing Hu Zi’s clothes.
"Brother, play horse riding with me."
He hadn’t started kindergarten or nursery school yet, naturally loving kids to play with him.
Bai Yiyi had to go to school during the day, but evidently, Tang Yuan understood that having an older brother to play with was far more exciting than being with parents or grandparents.
Hu Zi cautiously pulled Tang Yuan’s hand away; the chubby little hands were pale and tender, fearing he might accidentally hurt the little chubby one.
Or his parents might get angry.
"Horse riding? What’s horse riding?"
Hu Zi hadn’t played any games; his childhood was lonely, often locked alone in a room.
When his mother was there, she would play games with him, tell him stories, but her time with him was short because she had many responsibilities.
After his mother left, there was no one to talk to or play with him; he was often locked alone in a room.
From the window, he could see kids playing games outside, but it was never part of his world; he would play with himself alone.
He didn’t dare go outside; he would be hit and ridiculed.
Hu Zi didn’t even know how to interact with children.
Tang Yuan looked scornfully, "You don’t know horse riding, huh? I’ll teach you. You lie down, be the horse, and I’ll be the knight. Sister, I want to ride the horse."
Tang Yuan tried hard to pull Hu Zi down.
Unfortunately, Hu Zi was too tall for Tang Yuan to move.
Bai Yiyi laughed happily, "I won’t be your horse anymore. Every time I play as the horse, it’s exhausting. Let your brother Hu Zi play blocks with you."
Tang Yuan’s eyes lit up at the mention and ran back to his room.
A while later, he came back, struggling with a box.
The box was full of various building blocks, filled with accomplishments, dragged to Hu Zi, then plopped down on the floor.
Seeing Hu Zi still standing motionless.
"Brother, let’s build blocks."
Tang Yuan loved building blocks. When Yiyi returned from school, he always pulled Jiang Xiao Xiao to play endlessly.
Building them, knocking them down, then re-building.
For Bai Yiyi, who was a genius, playing was a waste of energy, so when she saw him hauling the blocks out, she would often dodge immediately.
Now, with the appearance of Hu Zi, Bai Yiyi was naturally glad to pass the burden away.
Hu Zi good-naturedly squatted down, finally sitting on the floor alongside the two kids, happily starting to build blocks.
Watching Hu Zi quickly win Tang Yuan’s affection, Feng Na felt waves of emotion. This child was too in need of friendship.
In the midst of a frenzy, Tang Yuan unexpectedly grabbed Hu Zi’s scarf, pulling it off because he found it too obstructive.
Hu Zi was startled, accustomed to the scarf!
With no scarf, people would see him, shout in fear, or avoid him.
Even throw stones, Hu Zi didn’t wish his only two friends would become like that.
But Tang Yuan just glanced at Hu Zi’s mouth, without shock or surprise, then continued excitedly holding Hu Zi’s hand and chatting.
"Brother, quick, build me a house."
Inside, Hu Zi was elated, Tang Yuan was so kind, not treating him differently like the others.
Everything was just as before.
Tang Yuan little brother, truly a good person.
Hu Zi vowed, from now on, Tang Yuan would be his brother, no one could be a cuter brother than Tang Yuan.
Tang Yuan, not knowing, had garnered the world’s best friendship, a lifetime of deep, meaningful bond.
