CHAPTER 66: CHAPTER 66: PRYING EYES

The female’s grumpy voice scraped into his ear; though it was a warning, it sounded more like a tease to Luo Fei.

Listening to it made him feel refreshed, dispersing some of the gloom in his heart. A hint of a smile appeared in his red eyes, "There’s a lot of food prepared for you in the cave, see if you like it."

As he spoke, he got lost in thought for a few seconds, lifting the corner of his bright red lips, "You ran so fast in the dense forest last time, you didn’t get a chance to eat the rabbit I caught for you. I was wondering if it was because you’re a rabbit beast and I scared you away."

"Who knows, you’re just a little trickster..."

Luo Fei continued immersing himself in memories, while Wen Shu leaned on his shoulder, pondering what Luo Fei used to subdue E Jia and the others just now?

If she could get a few of them, escaping from the Blood Alliance would be effortless.

After walking through an entire corridor, Luo Fei was still accusing her.

Wen Shu kept nodding in exhaustion, silently yawning, raising her hand to rub tears from the corner of her eyes, but suddenly felt a prying gaze.

She shivered sharply, looking towards the shadowed corner, but saw no one.

She frowned, feeling something was odd — was it an illusion?

Sensing her tension, Luo Fei relaxed his gripping arms, making a rare gesture of concern, "Are you uncomfortable? I can hold you."

Hold her?

She totally dared not face Luo Fei. He often launched sudden attacks; who would let him hold them?

Feeling his shifting arm, Wen Shu quickly pressed his arm to stop him, "No need! We’re almost there anyway."

There was a flash of disappointment in Luo Fei’s eyes; his thoughts were entirely guessed by her, but it wasn’t surprising. The female’s lips were soft, kissing them was truly addictive.

Moreover, the look in her eyes when she resisted, slightly red at the corners, just recalling it made his heart uncontrollably tremble, and his body felt like it was ignited, surging with waves of heat...

Unusually silent, Luo Fei stopped talking. Wen Shu watched his side profile, seeing nothing unusual, yet felt his hand holding her was getting hotter.

The scorching warmth spread through the beast skin; she supported herself on his shoulder, trying her best to reduce skin contact, but still felt a bit hot. Fortunately, they had reached the cave.

She pressed down on Luo Fei’s shoulder, shrinking from the heat, then quickly released him, "I’ll walk in myself, let me down quickly."

Luo Fei surprisingly complied; Wen Shu landed on the ground, casting a doubtful glance at him, discovering his gaze was somewhat peculiar, and his cold white face was frighteningly flushed.

He looked very much like he had a fever.

Instinctively, Wen Shu wanted to say something caring, but recalling Luo Fei’s actions, she swallowed her words.

She didn’t pay any more attention to Luo Fei, turned around, and walked into the cave. As soon as she entered, she saw the long table piled high with food.

The rich and intense aroma lingered around her nose; looking at the table filled with colorful and tasty food, Wen Shu did feel a bit hungry.

Running required strength. She didn’t hesitate for long, sitting by the long table, picking a slab of grilled meat to cut with the Bone Knife.

Though she hadn’t yet moved the knife, Luo Fei naturally sat opposite her, leaning forward, quickly cutting it up for her with another Bone Knife.

He poured a full cup of blue juice, placed it by her hand, then supported his chin with his left hand, eyes lowered, staring at her unblinkingly.

From the cold and dominant demeanor in the council hall to this tender and considerate one, Wen Shu was completely bewildered; which act was this?

Seeing she didn’t move for a long time, Luo Fei tilted his head, raised an eyebrow, puzzled, "Why aren’t you eating? Not hungry?"

He stared straight at her, dark shadows in his eyes almost overflowing; Wen Shu chilled at his gaze, hurriedly picked up the meat to gnaw, but dared not eat too fast...

She was slow-witted, but not stupid — Luo Fei’s gaze was too explicit, as if he wanted to devour her alive!

After finishing the meal, she didn’t know how long had passed, but since she’d crossed over, she had never eaten this much, her belly round and full, unable to hold anything else.

She warily glanced at Luo Fei, secretly pondering that if he forced himself on her, she’d vomit all over the bed to see if he’d still feel appetizing...

Noticing her look, a smile flashed in Luo Fei’s eyes; this gaze of the female, twitching like a rare small beast in the dense forest... cute enough to make one’s heart tremble.

Ignoring Luo Fei’s blunt gaze, Wen Shu rubbed her belly standing up, looked at the round bed in the center, and then scanned the stone cabinet beside it, walking over to open it.

Inside, she found several beast skin blankets, restrained moments of excitement, and spread them on the ground beside the bed.

Seeing her busy on the ground, Luo Fei also approached, his dark gaze sweeping over her from head to foot, suppressing laughter, bending over and pretending to be curious, "What are you doing?"

The masculine shadow loomed closer, feeling the warm encroachment on her back, Wen Shu clutched the beast skin tightly, abruptly straightened up.

With a "bang," her hind brain smacked into the male’s nose ridge.

Luo Fei groaned, covering his nose, and Wen Shu immediately turned, seeing blood trickling from under his palm, suppressing a smile, apologetically asking, "What are you doing at my back?"

He naturally caught the gloating in her eyes, but peculiarly, he didn’t feel annoyed; rather, seeing her relaxed brows made his mood elated.

He gazed into her eyes, feeling an illusion — her wavering emotions were like a hand, silently manipulating him.

Wen Shu met his gaze for a moment, seeing his expression growing stranger, inexplicably had a foreboding feeling.

"I’m going to sleep," she broke away from his gaze, folded another beast skin into a pillow.

But before she finished folding, an arm suddenly encircled her waist, pulling her straight onto the bed.

Tightened at the abdomen, she was drawn right into Luo Fei’s embrace, his burning chest pressing against her back, Wen Shu could even feel the muscles moving.

"Stay with me, I’m warm, won’t let you get cold..."

The moist breath brushed her ear, sending Wen Shu into a shiver, half her body tingling and numb.

Understanding Luo Fei’s intent, she regretted immensely! Had she known, in the tree hole that day, she shouldn’t have played the pitiful!

"I’m not afraid of the cold at all, let go, I can sleep on my own!"

Feeling uneasy, she furrowed her brows, trying to shake off Luo Fei’s grip on her arm, but he pressed tighter against her, chuckling softly, mumbling, "Yeah, I know you’re a little trickster..."

The chest vibrations rippled across her back, dragging Wen Shu’s heartbeat into a tremble. After a few seconds of stalemate, she realized Luo Fei was purely just holding her.

But she was still unbearably uncomfortable; she had given the long robe to Duolan, leaving only the bodice and skirt.

Luo Fei’s arm rested on her waist, legs also crossed over hers, skin tightly pressed, her whole body curled in his embrace, sweating profusely.

How could anyone sleep like this?

She wiped the hot sweat from her forehead, attempted to shift outward, but froze immediately, Luo Fei’s heavy breath, along with a flash of restraint in his dark eyes, warned her hoarsely, "... Wen Shu, don’t move."

His warm breath puffed on her ear tip, an itch crept up her back, freezing her in place.

She stared at the stone wall, looking despondent, striving to ignore the sensation at her hips, mentally willing herself.

As time passed, several candle flames gradually waned, Luo Fei’s breathing also eased evenly; listening to his sound, unexpectedly Wen Shu also felt sleepy, drifting into a deep slumber shortly.

She slept soundly, but didn’t know how long had passed when suddenly the arm at her waist tightened, almost breaking her waist.

She frowned in discomfort, pinching that sturdy arm hard, yet at her ear, there was a muffled grunt followed by a sudden rush of unfamiliar, cold breath.
