The Cannon-Fodder Villainess Faked Her Death, Her Five Beast Mates Go Wild
Chapter 75: Strange Weather
CHAPTER 75: CHAPTER 75: STRANGE WEATHER
After a night full of anxiety, Wen Shu woke up and squatted at the door for a long time, fearing to encounter Mious.
It wasn’t until Nan was going out to hunt and reminded her with a chuckle that she realized Mious hadn’t returned all night and was not in the stone house.
Wen Shu secretly breathed a sigh of relief, ate breakfast, and planned to leave.
Unexpectedly, just as she pushed the door open, a gust of cold wind mixed with rain slashed at her neck, making her shiver with cold.
How did it suddenly become so cold?
She hurriedly closed the door, grabbed a long fur robe, covered herself from head to toe, and quickly headed to the healing team.
Along the way, the cold wind became more and more biting, making it hard to open her eyes. Wen Shu shielded her forehead with the fur, thinking that the weather was really unusual.
Could the snow season have come early?
When she arrived at the stone hut, she found that she wasn’t the only one with this doubt; the Beastmen were all discussing it.
"What’s going on? This time last year, even if it rained, it was still warm, right?"
The female being treated by him opened her mouth with a smile, "What a memory, the weather has been getting weirder these past few years, it’s terribly cold near the snow season."
A slightly steady male echoed, "The female is right. The snow season has been coming earlier these past years. Last year, it even extended by half a season."
The male sighed, "This damn weather, if it weren’t for the lack of news from Beast City, I’d suspect it would snow today."
After treating a few males in the cubicle, Wen Shu glanced outside the window.
In the dimly lit tribe, rain drizzled continuously as thick dark clouds covered the sky, making it oppressively gloomy.
In the original story, the sudden onset of the snow season was supposed to happen next year, when the Beast God Stone could no longer predict the weather, followed by the mutant beast group’s uprising...
The entire Beast World would fall into crisis.
And the heroine is the savior who chose to sacrifice herself for the entire continent.
But looking out the window, Wen Shu couldn’t help feeling a sense of unease.
Will the male lead fail to break character? Could the plot not go awry?
Just as she was lost in thought, two Beastmen pushed open the door and came in.
The leading male blurted out, dragging a reluctant male behind, "Wen Shu is really powerful, don’t believe what they spread, that’s all slander!"
A familiar clear voice sounded, dull and muffled, "Kabu, I’ve had this ailment since I was young, no one can really cure it."
Kabu shook his head, speaking mysteriously, "You don’t understand, Wen Shu can cure anything! Sit down! Sit down!"
Kabu shoved the male over and pressed him onto a stone stool with such force that the table shook.
Hearing the familiar voice, Wen Shu snapped out of her reverie.
Recalling what Belinda said yesterday, she curiously looked at the newcomer, and upon seeing his face, couldn’t help but hold her breath.
The male had snow-white long hair tied smoothly at the back of his head, with a few strands left around his temples falling elegantly down his face.
He looked at people with a cold expression, his butterfly-wing-like white eyelashes fluttering silently, revealing his blood-pink pupils, breathtakingly beautiful.
Yet his features were sharp, without a hint of femininity, instead carrying a certain cold aggressiveness.
Wen Shu stared at him for a few seconds, only feeling that his presence brightened the dim cubicle a bit more.
Upon seeing her face, Julius’ brow furrowed slightly, a thin layer of anger coloring his face, "It’s you?"
His tone was unfriendly. Wen Shu came back from being astonished, remembered yesterday’s incident, and furrowed her brows as well.
Before she could voice her grievances, Julius pouted his lips and counterattacked, "You owe me an apology, if it weren’t for you, how would I have been entangled by them yesterday."
Seeing his icy elegance, his every move exuding grace, yet saying such rogue words, Wen Shu almost laughed out of anger.
But she was too unsettled to argue with him now.
"Stretch out your hand."
She waved her hand dismissively.
Julius looked at her with cold eyes, determined that she was deliberate yesterday as she intended to touch his hand, he jumped to his feet, "I don’t need treatment!"
"Hey, why the tantrum again?" Kabu pressed him back down and gave Wen Shu an apologetic smile, "My brother has a bad temper, please bear with him."
Julius widened his eyes, pointing at himself, "I have a bad temper? She’s just a rogue, took advantage of me yesterday... What are you doing!"
Wen Shu felt a headache hearing this, grabbing his wrist, just wanting to quickly send him off.
After a quick examination, she found that the male indeed had an ailment, a congenital heart issue.
Feeling the warmth on his wrist, Julius widened his eyes; ever since arriving at this small tribe, he had been keeping a stoic face every day, avoiding females.
Yet unexpectedly, despite being cautious day and night, this female took advantage of him twice!
Julius abruptly withdrew his hand, his eyes reddening with anger, looking like a humiliated, proper man, "Don’t touch me!"
Being accused of flirting while treating a patient, a black line ran across Wen Shu’s forehead, and she could no longer hold back, "I admit, you’re good-looking, but not everyone will be interested in you."
She rubbed her temples, added coldly, "Your ailment isn’t that severe. It can be treated, but if you don’t want treatment, you can leave now."
Pointing to the exit, "No need to see you off."
After the frustrated female finished speaking, the cubicle instantly fell into silence.
Julius stood frozen in place, blinking twice, tilting his head to look at Wen Shu from bottom to top.
Seeing her pale face covered with frost, that pretentious cool face now raised a smile, "Wen Shu, are you really angry?"
He raised his eyebrows, excitedly sat back on the stone stool, rested his hand on the table, his face glowing with a bright smile.
Wen Shu treated him remotely, noticing his twitching arm, and glanced coldly at him.
Feeling unnerved under her gaze, Julius covered his mouth, "Cough cough, sorry, I’m not gloating."
He recalled those pitiful memories, his head drooping, and his tone turned low again, "It’s just, it’s been too long since I met someone who hates me."
Hearing his nasal tone, Wen Shu lifted her eyelids and, as expected, saw his tear-filled eyes.
Julius wasn’t showing off; his face was indeed striking, and crying like this, who knows what he had been through.
She shook her head and offered him a suggestion, "Why don’t you cover your face?"
"That would be so humiliating, and beneath my dignity..." Julius tearfully asked eagerly, "Wen Shu, can you do me a favor?"
Hearing his words, Wen Shu was momentarily at a loss for words, raising her eyes to meet his clear gaze.
In just a few words, he already trusted her?
After a brief moment of eye contact, she withdrew her gaze. When the treatment was almost complete, she slowly asked, "What favor?"
Seeing a spark of hope, Julius wiped his tears, his brows softened, and asked, "Can I be your Beast Husband?"
Fearing a misunderstanding, he quickly added, "Pretend! I’m already engaged... I only need half a month, I’ll pay you afterward, this amount!"
He raised his eyebrows and held up five fingers.
Wen Shu boldly guessed, "Fifty bags of Crystal Coins?"
Julius widened his eyes, unhappily said, "You really underestimate me, five chests! Enough for you and your Beast Husband to live two lifetimes in Beast City!"
Wen Shu was momentarily stunned, somewhat tempted. With this money, many problems could be solved once she left Alentia.
This was a surefire profitable deal!
But...
Wen Shu glanced at him; although his face looked wealthy, he only wore the most ordinary beast skin.
She had some suspicion, "You must establish a contract."
Julius saw her meaning, feeling indignant at being judged by appearance, he immediately established a contract.
The beast pattern dissipated, and he was still alive.
He was so wealthy, yet not being revered in the tribe?
Wen Shu glanced at the dazed Kabu and understood in her heart, she had met someone who was rich but clueless...
"Alright, half a month, go pack your things, you’ll be returning with me later."
She waved her hand efficiently and began treating the other Beastmen.
When her superpower was almost depleted, she packed her allocated food and signaled the waiting Julius in the corner to leave together.
The rain had stopped, but the damp chill of the night wind was even worse. Wen Shu wrapped herself tightly in the beast skin, and after only a few steps, her nose was already turning red from the cold.
She sniffled, thinking of mentioning the strange weather to Mious, when suddenly, a chill landed on her cheek.
She stopped, reaching up to wipe it, just to see a nail-sized snowflake slowly drifting down onto the back of her hand.
