The Cannon-Fodder Villainess Faked Her Death, Her Five Beast Mates Go Wild
Chapter 83: Contract Termination
CHAPTER 83: CHAPTER 83: CONTRACT TERMINATION
Wen Shu tried her superpower, and when she raised her eyes, she met his gaze. Her heart skipped a beat, and she couldn’t help but move back slightly, "Mious, are you..."
She had just spoken when the male before her suddenly relaxed, a faint arc tugging at his cold lips, his gaze still locked on her, "That’s right, Ashu, you wanted to see my tail."
His deep voice took on a warm, alluring magnetism.
Wen Shu felt her heart leap in her chest and quickly understood, "No, you’ve misunderstood, I didn’t mean it like that."
However, the male before her slowly walked to the bedside, letting out a low chuckle, "Ah, but I wanted to show Ashu."
Wen Shu froze for a moment, wanting to speak up to explain, but her hand was seized by Mious, landing on a cold, slippery texture.
The rise and fall of scales slipped beneath her palm.
Until it fell onto a depression.
A low, muffled groan resonated above her head.
"Do you like it?"
Wen Shu’s ears burned, she jerked her hand back, lifting her head to meet Mious’s deep green eyes.
"Do you like my tail?"
His lips were pressed into a tight line as he looked down at her, appearing dominant, yet his cheeks were flushed red.
Seeing her glance at him, he couldn’t help but hold his breath, a hint of nervousness flashing in his eyes.
He was awaiting her answer.
"Mious..."
Wen Shu wanted to shake her head, but seeing the hope in his eyes, she couldn’t quite bear to do it.
Unable to withstand that gaze, she clumsily averted her eyes, clasping his hand in return, explaining, "You’ve misunderstood, I just wanted to heal you."
Mious was stunned for a moment but noticed her deeply flushed ears.
He lowered his eyes to hide the darkness in them, naturally sitting beside Wen Shu.
The snake tail brushed against her leg, reaching her hand, and he looked at her with a slight smile, letting out a low "hmm."
That teasing expression clearly showed disbelief!
Wen Shu swallowed hard, trying her best to ignore his gaze, focusing instead on his snake tail, surprise flashing in her eyes.
Mious, indeed, was an Eighth Rank Beast.
That bloody snake tail from memory had already regrown a part, and at this rate, in less than two years, Mious would have completely healed himself.
Thanks to his good recovery, Wen Shu had gained some confidence.
While healing herself, she found that after stabbing Craig and herself with a claw, her spiritual power had increased significantly, perhaps enough to heal Mious.
Wen Shu pressed the snake tail beside her, and as white light burst forth, the wound mended visibly, and within moments, most of the flesh had regrown.
Feeling warm energy streaming into the snake tail, Mious lowered his head to see it almost entirely regrown, the snake scales still repairing in layers, holding his breath in astonishment.
How could there be a Beastman with such formidable healing abilities!
He raised his eyes to look at Wen Shu, seeing her increasingly pale complexion, and quickly reached out to stop her.
But Wen Shu ignored him, pausing only when the last scale healed, leaning weakly against the bedside.
Looking up at the canopy, she felt a bit dizzy from exhaustion. Though her superpower had indeed improved, she was still somewhat weak...
Before she could recover, a handsome face appeared overhead, the male approaching nervously, wanting to pull her into his embrace.
Wen Shu quickly pressed against his chest, thinking of what she needed to do next, opting to maintain her distance.
She struggled to prop herself up, moving back slightly, her face earnest, "Mious, I have something to tell you."
Finger pressed against his chest, Mious saw a hint of detachment in her eyes, familiar panic spreading again in his heart.
He grasped her wrist, eyes soft as he gazed at her, speaking gently, "Alright, whatever you want to say, say it tomorrow. You need rest now."
But Wen Shu had made up her mind.
She shook her head, forcefully pulling her hand back, trying to explain as tactfully as possible, "Mious, I must make it clear to you."
Seeing Mious about to approach again, she stood up directly, "We’re not suited for each other. I was naive before, but now I’ve realized I don’t like you..."
She wanted to continue speaking but was interrupted by Mious.
He seemed to be hit hard, looking at her with a pale face.
Yet, after a few seconds, it seemed as if a weight was lifted off him, a smile tugging at his lips as he stepped forward, "Ashu, don’t joke with me. I know I was too cold to you before, and you’re unhappy, right?"
"Besides, if you didn’t like me, why would you be so kind to me?"
He didn’t seem to believe her, but a faint tremor hid in his deep voice.
Seeing that stubborn smile on his stern face, Wen Shu sensed danger, silently retreating a few steps, "It’s because of the contract. I’m sorry, Mious, for misleading you for so long. I thought you hated me, I didn’t expect you would..."
Her voice was gentle, yet each word cutting through the air like a dagger, leaving her heart a bloody mess.
Mious felt more and more suffocated, looking at her apologetic face, only feeling like he was suffocating to death.
She didn’t like him?
She was kind to him only because of the Beast God Contract?
All along, it was just him imagining things?
Impossible...
Impossible!
Seeing his increasingly terrifying eyes, Wen Shu glanced at the door out of the corner of her eye, but Mious suddenly lunged forward, grabbing her wrist.
"Don’t like me anymore?"
He pressed closer step by step, dark fire swirling in his eyes, his deep voice hoarse, "Then who do you like? Nan? Wu Xuan? Or that Julius!"
Her lower back hit the table, his hands resting on either side of her waist, his frantic face growing larger, hot breath spreading across her face.
Wen Shu turned her face away, cautiously clenching her hand, but suddenly felt a weight on her shoulder, a searing wetness silently seeping in, "Ashu, don’t joke..."
Mious’s restrained and raspy voice sounded beside her ear, as he pressed her hand to his chest, his voice muffled, "It hurts here... so much."
Feeling the heavy thud beneath her palm, Wen Shu’s heartbeat hitched, her fingers curling inward, a sliver of reluctance in her heart.
But...
She wanted to live more.
She withdrew her hand, gently pushing him away, meeting his tear-stained green eyes, and activated the Soul Capturing Technique.
The room fell silent, as if nothing had happened, yet a profound connection in Mious’s Spiritual Sea suddenly vanished.
He stood frozen on the spot, the agony on his face becoming frozen, feeling like his heart had stopped beating.
Yet Wen Shu’s face became increasingly clear...
Why?
Mious wanted to ask, but his throat tightened with pain.
It was all fake, she never liked him in the first place.
She was a liar...
A liar!
His eyes, late to the realization, filled with heat, his chest hurt like it was being torn apart, but he was so proud, how could he allow himself to lose composure like this!
"Wen Shu..."
He gritted his teeth, his voice thick with bitterness, "Do you think I can’t live without you?"
Leaving the words behind, Mious walked calmly to the door, stepping out of the room.
He clenched his fists tightly, suppressing the urge to look back, yet deep down, he hopelessly hoped the female would regret and come to stop him...
Even if only for a word of consolation...
But until he left, walking up that dim slope, it never happened.
He walked forward in a daze, feeling hollowed out, the cold wind bringing with it a fine drizzle.
He paused, slowly lowering his head, a single raindrop silently slid down the side of his face, landing heavily on the ground.
