CHAPTER 891: CHAPTER 888: YE WANWAN AND SHEN YI SIDE STORY
Ye Wanwan has a fever.
From the first day’s mild fever and headache, to the second day’s sore throat, then to the third day’s nasal congestion, it finally turned into a fever.
"Take your medicine." Shen Yi sat down beside Ye Wanwan, took out the medicine she needed to take and placed it in her palm, while he picked up the warm water sitting on the coffee table.
Ye Wanwan looked at the medicine in her palm, then at the man in front of her. She felt a bit resistant deep down, but didn’t want Shen Yi to worry, so she only hesitated for a moment before tilting her head back and swallowing all the medicine in her palm.
She slightly frowned, quickly grabbed the water cup from Shen Yi, tilted her head back and drank more than half of it in one go.
Feeling the medicine go down, Ye Wanwan let out a sigh of relief. When she looked at Shen Yi again, there was a slight smile at the corners of her eyes and brows.
"I swallowed it," Ye Wanwan said.
Shen Yi didn’t know what to say; he just looked at Ye Wanwan with concern, then raised his hand to touch her head.
"The weather is nice today, let’s go out for a walk," Ye Wanwan suggested.
Shen Yi glanced out the large floor-to-ceiling window. The weather was indeed nice, sunny and breezy, but he still shook his head, "Let’s wait for a couple of days before we go out."
Previously, he insisted on going out every day for Ye Wanwan’s well-being. Now, not going out was also for Ye Wanwan.
Ye Wanwan carefully watched Shen Yi, then switched the topic, "Then let’s watch a movie!"
"Okay," Shen Yi agreed softly.
The servant washed some fruit and brought them out. Ye Wanwan hugged the fruit tray in her arms, sat cross-legged on the sofa, then leaned on Shen Yi’s shoulder.
She picked a new comedy movie, chatted with Shen Yi at times, laughed out loud occasionally, and even fed him fruit from time to time.
Shen Yi indulged her; the atmosphere between them was incredibly cozy. The servants in the villa felt relieved, even though they didn’t understand why the heads of the house were so concerned over just a common cold and fever.
Thinking about it, it’s probably because they care too much.
...
However, Ye Wanwan’s fever was aggressive this time. Even though she had an IV yesterday and the fever subsided, she still took her medicine on time today.
Yet in the middle of the night, Ye Wanwan’s fever returned.
This time, Ye Wanwan directly moved into the hospital. Not only that, but she also experienced repeated fevers, never completely recovering.
Apart from the very uncomfortable first few days, Ye Wanwan soon felt much better. But every midnight, she would have a fever, making Shen Yi unable to sleep at night.
This way, Ye Wanwan ended up staying in the hospital for half a month until she stopped having fevers at night.
"Mr. Shen, Mrs. Shen’s condition has stabilized. She can be discharged now," the doctor said after the examination.
Shen Yi frowned, looking at Ye Wanwan, who was seated by the bedside and staring at him; he didn’t say anything.
Clearly, Shen Yi was scared after Ye Wanwan’s persistent and recurring fever during this period. Even though she hadn’t had a fever in the past two days and the doctor said her condition was stable, Shen Yi still felt uneasy.
But when he saw the look Ye Wanwan gave him, Shen Yi couldn’t say anything about staying in the hospital longer.
