CHAPTER 301: INTERRUPTED EVENING

"Oh, my God, even Xueru can sing such a wild song." Tang Shuwen shook his head. He had always thought Chen Xueru only sang low, mellow love songs.

Su Ran clapped his hands. "Ladies, shake it a little more! Why not sing while belly dancing? That’s a challenge. A striptease would also be great. I can step in if you need a dance partner."

Tang Shuwen, smiling, and Ye Feimo, expressionless, both shot a look at him. Su Ran immediately turned and hid behind Director Gu.

Everyone stayed and played until very late. Wen Nuan had a little too much to drink. Her face was flushed, and her eyes were a little dazed, but she wasn’t quite drunk. Ye Feimo held her close as she walked, singing an off-key song.

Ye Feimo’s lips curled up slightly. She was very happy today.

"Feimo, I want milk tea," Wen Nuan said in a soft voice as they passed a small Hong Kong-style café.

This place wasn’t far from Anning International. It was a bustling commercial street, and even near midnight, the lights were bright and there were still many pedestrians. Wen Nuan was craving milk tea. The night air was a little chilly, so a warm milk tea would feel very comforting.

"Don’t drink milk tea at night. You can have some tomorrow," Ye Feimo said. Why was this woman so passionate about this junk food?

Wen Nuan leaned her head against the window, shaking it playfully. "I want it."

Ye Feimo glanced at her. He couldn’t park there, so he was forced to find a parking spot. He then hugged Wen Nuan and walked back to the shop to buy milk tea. Wen Nuan was wearing a cream-colored long coat and a small hat. The wind was a little strong today. Wen Nuan’s body was warm from the alcohol, and Ye Feimo pulled her hat up to help block the wind for her.

Wen Nuan threw off her hat. "That looks so silly."

"Be a good girl," Ye Feimo said, putting the hat back on her head. "Or no milk tea."

Wen Nuan immediately quieted down.

When they got to the café, Ye Feimo had Wen Nuan sit on a small bench. He went to buy two cups of hot chocolate-flavored milk tea. Wen Nuan had been dozing off with her head down, but her eyes lit up as soon as she saw the milk tea.

Ye Feimo sat down as well, smiling slightly. He pinched her nose. "You should drink less of this from now on."

"I love it. Aren’t you drinking it too?" Wen Nuan said with a smile. Ye Feimo chuckled, remembering that day by the river when this little fool had also bought a bunch of donuts and two cups of milk tea. He had a stomachache, and she stayed up with him all night.

Thinking about it now, it felt very heartwarming.

"What flavor is yours?" Wen Nuan leaned over to ask. Her red lips glistened and looked succulent. A rich milky scent filled the air, and Ye Feimo’s eyes darkened. This pure little thing would occasionally show such an endearing and naive side, making him want to eat her whole.

"Chocolate," Ye Feimo said, his voice a little hoarse.

"I don’t believe you," Wen Nuan pouted, leaning her head over to take a sip of his milk tea. "It really is chocolate."

Ye Feimo reached over, wrapped his arm around her neck, and kissed her deeply, tangling their tongues. He kissed her until she was dizzy and confused. A middle-aged couple walking by turned back and pointed at them.

Wen Nuan let out a soft moan, and only then did Ye Feimo release her. Her face was flushed, radiant like a peach blossom, and her beautiful eyes were full of a glistening look. Ye Feimo muttered something and smiled, getting up with his arm around her. "Let’s go. We’ll drink as we walk."

Suddenly, his eyes narrowed as he looked across the street. He saw a flash of light from a camera. Ye Feimo cursed. Although he wanted to announce to the world that Wen Nuan was his woman and send all the men who coveted her to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, Wen Nuan had her own considerations. She was still young and needed to develop her career. As selfish as he was, he was very understanding of Wen Nuan on this point. While generating dating rumors could help Wen Nuan’s exposure, it would not be good if a senior reporter discovered they were married.

That would make her very unhappy.

Ye Feimo estimated the angle. He thought the photo wouldn’t be able to capture Wen Nuan’s face. Thankfully, he had put that hat on her.

"I’m going to have another rumor about me tomorrow," Ye Feimo said after they got into the car, instinctively pecking her lips again. Wen Nuan was drinking her milk tea and asked, "What rumor?"

"A paparazzi was just there."

"Oh," Wen Nuan said and yawned adorably. Ye Feimo raised an eyebrow. Was that all? In his mind, he counted, "One, two..." but before he could say three, he heard a shriek, "Ah! What did you say? Paparazzi?"

Ye Feimo nodded expressionlessly. Okay, she was finally sobering up.

"They didn’t get a picture of me, did they?" Wen Nuan’s eyes went wide. Ye Feimo said as he drove, "They probably didn’t get your face. You can thank that silly hat for that."

Wen Nuan patted her chest and let out a sigh of relief. She had been so scared.

Going out with Ye Feimo was indeed not safe, especially on a bustling street. The paparazzi even lurked around late at night. Wen Nuan saluted the dedicated paparazzi. It wasn’t easy for them in the cold weather.

"They aren’t going to follow us, are they?"

"We’ve already lost them," Ye Feimo said. Paparazzi were so intrusive these days in their pursuit of news. It was annoying. When Ye Feimo was in a bad mood and was bothered by the paparazzi, he would turn around and crash into them.

He learned this trick from Lin Ning. The last time he went to the airport to pick up Lin Diyun, the paparazzi insisted he was picking up Li Yuanyuan, saying the two were having an affair. They followed him from the airport to the city. It was nothing special, and Lin Ning was used to it, but that day, he happened to be in a bad mood. He made a turn and crashed into their camera car, completely wrecking the Green Light Group’s vehicle. His technique was so good that the three reporters inside were mostly unharmed.

The car accident attracted traffic police. Director Lin had wrecked someone’s car but demanded compensation, claiming that the front of his car had a tiny scratch. Director Lin was driving a yellow Ferrari that day.

To avoid trouble, the Green Light Group paid a large sum of money.

Since then, paparazzi cars have not dared to chase Director Lin. He was just too aggressive, and no one dared to provoke him.

Ye Feimo, Tang Shuwen, and the others had learned this trick very well, so reporters generally didn’t dare to chase them for news. A wrecked car was one thing, but losing your life was much worse.

"Paparazzi these days are so annoying. Don’t people have any privacy?" Wen Nuan bit her lip. This was the price of being a public figure. "It’s all your fault, you show-off. You have a higher news value than male celebrities. I’m not going out with you anymore."

"If you had opened your eyes in middle school and seen me, I wouldn’t be so famous today," Ye Feimo said, having his own logic. If Wen Nuan had been with him back then, he might have been a carbon copy of his brother, a very devoted man.

But he couldn’t be too sure. Wen Nuan was such a tiny bean sprout back then that he might not have noticed her.

"What a ridiculous argument. A devil’s advocate," Wen Nuan said. She had heard Ye Feimo’s story about her middle school days, but she never imagined he had seen her and an older girl fighting so embarrassingly over Fang Liucheng playing basketball.
