The CEO's Substitute Ex-Wife
Chapter 375: Unspoken Feelings
CHAPTER 375: UNSPOKEN FEELINGS
Ye Feimo narrowed his eyes and looked at Wen Nuan. "That was a very heartfelt comment. Is that from experience?"
Wen Nuan was stunned. She couldn’t help but hit his chest. "You’re so sensitive. Do you have to be so sour? I didn’t even put vinegar in the hot pot."
It was a bit from her own experience, but she was young and optimistic. Back then, when Fang Liucheng didn’t return her feelings, she was silly and just kept giving. She didn’t feel like she had lost anything, and when she felt sad, she would find a way to vent.
A person like Mo Yao, unlike her, wouldn’t cry when he wanted to or laugh when he wanted to. So he must be in a lot of pain.
"Hey, you said your aunt and Wushuang bet that Little White Mo would never get married. Does that mean that Little White Mo will end up with Mo Yao?" Wen Nuan asked. "What are you betting on?"
"That’s a stupid question. Of course I’m betting that Little White Mo will be with Mo Yao," Ye Feimo said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. Wen Nuan stuck out her tongue. Ye Feimo continued, "I forgot to tell you, but no one in the bet thinks that Little White Mo will be able to get married."
"You guys are..."
"We’re a family, and we’re all on the same side. You get it."
"You guys are so twisted."
Ye Feimo smiled faintly. Because of Su Man and Bai Ye, they didn’t have any prejudices about this kind of thing. Ye Wei was simply annoyed that Mo Yao had bad taste. Mo Jue was just wondering why Little White Mo was so lucky. Shi Yi and Mo Ye had already been warned about this when Mo Yao was very young, so they didn’t feel anything. Even if they had been against it at one point, they weren’t anymore. After all, nothing was more important than their son’s happiness. The Mo family was one of a kind.
There were more men than women on the secret agent island, and they had all been living together for over a decade. So they were used to seeing relationships between men. Although not every relationship was as forever as Su Man and Bai Ye’s, they all chose each other. After seeing so many, it wasn’t a big deal to them anymore.
"If it were you, what would you bet on?"
"I don’t know," Wen Nuan said. "My wish is simple. I just hope everyone is happy."
Ye Feimo smiled.
At the GK Oriental Hotel, in the presidential suite.
Little White Mo sat alone on the balcony drinking wine. He was wearing a white bathrobe that was casually open, revealing his muscular chest. His hair was still dripping wet. His smiling eyes, in the reflection of the red wine, looked incredibly affectionate and had a suffocating charm. He was indescribably sexy.
The night sky in A City was beautiful. He sat alone, quietly drinking. Wen Nuan’s words kept replaying in his mind.
After all these years of dating countless women, could it really be because of his brother?
He gave a small laugh. *Impossible.*
*That’s my brother.*
Why was he so distraught all night just because of a single sentence from Wen Nuan? He couldn’t even sleep.
Little White Mo let out a long breath, as if to relieve the sadness in his heart. He couldn’t help but press the button to call Mo Yao, but then he stopped. For all these years he had been away, he had never called Mo Yao unless it was for business.
"It’s not a big deal to make a phone call..." Little White Mo dialed the number without hesitation. It rang twice before the call was answered.
Mo Yao’s voice came through, devoid of emotion. "What is it?"
This was their usual way of starting a conversation. Whenever Little White Mo had a problem, he would look for him, so Mo Yao was used to asking him what was wrong. He always said the same thing every time he called.
*What is it?*
It was as if he wouldn’t call him unless he had a problem. Little White Mo started to reflect. It seemed to be true. He often talked to Mo Chen on the phone when he was out, but he never called Mo Yao just to chat.
"Hey, big brother, have you eaten yet?" Little White Mo said with a laugh.
There was a pause on the other end, and his voice became a little softer. "No. Why are you still up so late?"
It was still early evening in Rome, but it was midnight where Ye Feimo was. Little White Mo said, "I just went to my cousin’s place and had hot pot."
"And?"
"I’m just bored and calling to harass you," Little White Mo said nonchalantly. "Are you busy? I’ll hang up if you are."
"Wait..." Mo Yao’s voice became a little deeper, and he paused again. "I’m not busy."
"Oh... You’re not busy." Little White Mo laughed and leaned back in his chair, comfortably enjoying the evening breeze. "The night view of A City is beautiful."
"The night view of Rome is also beautiful."
Little White Mo said, "What’s the point of it being beautiful if you don’t go out and enjoy it?"
"Is filming for the movie starting tomorrow?" Mo Yao changed the subject. Little White Mo said yes. "I’ll probably be filming for four months. I’ll handle the North American affairs and won’t delay work."
"Okay," Mo Yao said, not pushing the matter.
Little White Mo looked at the night sky, gently shaking the wine glass in his hand. "Big brother, what do you think of my girlfriend, Mikael? Is she pretty enough?"
"Yes, very pretty."
"You think she’s pretty too?"
"Yes."
Little White Mo’s laughter was clear and crisp. "Big brother, I see that you’re always busy with the mafia and don’t have time to date. How about I introduce you to someone?"
"No need."
"A girl from a brother is always reliable. Think about it."
"No need."
Little White Mo knew that Mo Yao would hang up if he said "no need" three times. He really wanted to see if he would be an exception, but he didn’t continue. The two of them were silent for a moment.
Mo Yao said calmly, "It’s late. You should go to sleep."
"Big brother..." Little White Mo called out to him. "The night view of A City is really beautiful."
"What are you trying to say?" Mo Yao’s voice was filled with a repressed feeling that came through the phone clearly. Little White Mo’s voice was full of laughter, but his face and eyes were completely devoid of a smile.
It was as if that smile had nothing to do with him and was just the sound of another soul laughing.
Little White Mo said, "Big brother, I just want to tell you that the night view of Rome is indeed beautiful, but maybe you’re just used to it and think that it’s irreplaceable. But if you go out and look around, you’ll find that the night views of other places are just as beautiful."
Mo Yao’s voice had a hint of a laugh. "Thanks. I’m busy. I’m hanging up."
When you don’t expect anything, you won’t be disappointed, and you won’t be hurt.
Expecting something was the stupidest thing he had ever done, but he had been doing it for over ten years. He never wanted to give up hope because he was afraid that he would regret it for the rest of his life. He knew that the disappointment after every expectation was like a knife stabbing him in the heart, but he was still stubborn and kept waiting.
Even a simple glance would be enough for him.
But that person never gave him a look of hope.
Mo Yao chuckled and hung up the phone.
Little White Mo put down his phone and drank the rest of his wine in one gulp.
