CHAPTER 575: CHAPTER 573: THE END OF THE COMMERCIAL STREET SUITS YOU BEST
Pushing through the crowd, Su Mo’s smile faded to neutrality as she faced Lu Jin who stood opposite her, not far ahead, his leg wrapped in bandages and leaning on a crutch.
He didn’t approach her, merely gazing at her from a distance.
Did Su Mo hate him?
Intensely so.
Though she had been part of his past and sympathized with him, some damages once done, could not be repaired.
Not killing Lu Jin didn’t mean that all grievances had vanished—Su Mo shifted her gaze indifferently and walked away.
How could Lu Jin not see the lack of emotion in her eyes, yet he remained standing still. He could recognize the astonishing changes in her at a glance, but her beauty did not belong to him.
As Su Mo passed a store selling women’s accessories, she was curious that people still sold such things, especially since the shop seemed quite busy.
In the crowd, she heard an extremely arrogant female voice.
"It’s just 10 Crystal Stones, I’ll take it!"
"Isn’t she just an ordinary person? What’s there to be so arrogant about!"
When Su Mo looked in the direction of the voice, she raised an eyebrow; some people, once spoiled, become uncontrollable.
Cha Mi turning out this way was within her expectations.
Last time she tricked Bai Yuee into coming here, she knew this person would eventually go astray, little did she expect Jin Han’s team to be so consistent in spoiling women.
The girl who fought over a hair tie with her last time and the current Cha Mi shared exactly the same temper.
Su Mo didn’t want to meddle in these affairs and had no intention of going in, she was about to walk away when a jade bracelet flew out of the shop, heading straight for her forehead.
She caught it with one hand and sighed inwardly, stopping in her tracks.
Inside, a constipated-looking seller squeezed out of the shop and ran up to Su Mo, "Sorry about that, did it hit you?"
Su Mo shook her head, about to return the bracelet, when suddenly the superpower user inside, who had lost her temper, swung a fist towards Cha Mi’s face.
If that punch had landed, her head might have exploded.
Su Mo’s gaze sharpened, and she dashed forward, catching the fist, "Enough."
"Are you all done messing around?" she said, dropping the fist with a bad tone.
Being able to catch her superpowered fist with one hand indicated good strength. Everyone being superpower users, the other party decisively loosened her grip, albeit with a disdainful glance at Su Mo, "I’m not just fooling around because I’m full; today’s my mom’s birthday, and he just loves these worthless things. I came to pick a couple for her, and this woman here started causing trouble."
The bracelet still in Su Mo’s palm, she tossed it into the other’s arms, "I’ll pay for it, it’s yours."
"Thanks for that. Why bother defending such a woman who only got her status through sleeping around? Not worth it," the superpower user remarked, looking regretfully at Su Mo before walking away briskly with the bracelet.
Cha Mi, shielded by Su Mo, was still being noisy behind her, "That’s my skill too! All the men in the group are mine!"
All Su Mo felt towards her remark was the urge to roll her eyes. She silently turned around, her mocking green eyes locked on Cha Mi, "Haven’t you learned anything good sticking around Jin Han?"
"Who are you?"
At that moment, Cha Mi was wearing an expensive gown, unmistakably chosen by Jin Han’s crew.
Her haughty demeanor irked Su Mo, who leaned against the counter; "Despite everything, I saved your life. Is this how you talk to me?"
"Who asked you to save me? If she had dared to hit me, she would have been thrown out of the refugee camp," Cha Mi shifted her gaze back to the jewelry on the counter.
Su Mo’s face was devoid of any smile as she slowly said, "You’re just a disposable object any woman could replace. Why do you place yourself on the same level as a superpower user?"
Her words were both cruel and harsh. Cha Mi looked at her in disbelief, "What did you say?"
Su Mo looked her up and down; "You’re still so young, not even 18 yet, right? Relying on others isn’t wrong, but why can’t you understand your own status? Serving dozens of men at the same time, do you really think they treasure you?"
She had given her a chance to escape the abyss, yet she chose to degrade herself to a plaything. Cha Mi, this child, was ruined.
Su Mo wanted Cha Mi to wake up to reality, but the latter obviously didn’t think so, and suddenly screamed, "I am the only woman in Jin Han’s team! You dare to mess with me? Who do you think you are!?"
The store owner couldn’t stand it anymore and directly called over Jin Han himself, who was patrolling this street and arrived quite quickly.
Upon seeing Su Mo, he was a bit surprised, "Are you arguing with Cha Mi?"
Su Mo casually turned around, "No, it’s your woman who’s stealing from others."
Seeing how casually the two talked, Cha Mi felt bewildered. She moved over to Jin Han and grasped his arm, "Who is she?"
"Su Mo, you did this?" Jin Han’s expression was suddenly dangerous.
Upon hearing the name Su Mo, Cha Mi’s legs went weak. She looked at Su Mo in shock, recognizing the similarity in bone structure, "Su... Su Mo?"
"She just advanced to level 7; it’s normal for her appearance to change," Jin Han pulled her hand away and noticed the variety of bracelets hanging from her wrist, his gaze tightening, "Our team isn’t lacking this junk, are you? Fighting over this and even smashing up the shop?"
Cha Mi never dreamed she’d hit a snag when she just wanted to turn over a new leaf, and she hurriedly explained: "No, not at all, I was just out for a walk!"
Then, she also noticed Jin Han’s emotionless eyes.
Even if she was naive, she finally understood that all this long-standing compliance and affection from these men was merely for her body.
Sometimes, women can lose themselves when engulfed in a circle of men’s protectiveness and affection.
Su Mo had no interest in meddling in their private matters and walked past them, speaking to Jin Han, "I just bought a bracelet as a gift. Might as well pay for it while you’re at it."
"Okay, where are you headed?" Jin Han didn’t forget to ask her as she walked away.
"Bored, Lu Chen is still talking business, so I was just wandering around," Su Mo waved her hand and left the shop.
Jin Han also relaxed, he pulled a handful of Crystal Stones from his pocket and threw them on the counter, letting go of Cha Mi, his lips pursed, "I thought you could be obedient, but it seems I was wrong."
"No no no, I’ll obey, it’s my fault, I shouldn’t have fought with someone over the bracelet," Cha Mi almost knelt before the robust man in front of her, her whole body trembling.
Jin Han sighed, "Although those guys quite like you, the end of the commercial street suits you better. You should go back."
