CHAPTER 264: CHAPTER 261: CINDERELLA’S COMEBACK (PART 6)

Shengzhe Middle School

Qin Minghao stood in the third-floor corridor, resting against the railing and looking down. He scanned the scene but couldn’t spot the diminutive top student from the first year.

Usually, at this time of the day, the unsophisticated little top student from the first year would be dragged out by others, but today, her figure was nowhere to be seen.

Qin Minghao couldn’t help but frown.

"What are you looking at?"

Someone patted Qin Minghao’s shoulder.

Without looking, Qin Minghao knew who it was: "Nothing."

He turned around, and sure enough, it was Zhong Boyang.

Zhong Boyang glanced downstairs: "What are you peeping at every day downstairs, not like there’s anything interesting going on."

Qin Minghao felt a bit displeased: "What’re you planning to do after school today?"

Zhong Boyang smiled: "Didn’t Jiayao say we’re going to her place after school today? How could you forget?"

Only then did Qin Minghao remember the plan to go to Ren Jiayao’s house that he had made before.

"Been quite bothered lately."

He leaned against the railing, watching students bustling through the corridor, his face etched with irritation.

"What’s going on with you and Jiayao?"

Zhong Boyang leaned on the railing too, asking Qin Minghao softly.

Qin Minghao shook his head: "Nothing."

"I feel like you’ve been drifting apart from Jiayao recently; you guys used to hang out every day. How come you haven’t been looking for her lately?"

Zhong Boyang shook his head with a smile: "You’re not thinking of breaking up with Jiayao, are you?"

"What nonsense."

Qin Minghao glared at Zhong Boyang irritably: "How could I possibly break up with Jiayao."

He stood up and walked toward the classroom, with Zhong Boyang following, hands in his pockets: "Hey, I’m saying, that’s about enough."

"I don’t know what you’re talking about."

Qin Minghao truly looked angry.

"Don’t be so touchy as a man; you should be more broad-minded."

Zhong Boyang came up beside Qin Minghao and slung an arm around his neck: "The little top student from the first year just bumped into you, and she even apologized. Why do you have to make an enemy out of her? The girl’s been quite pitiful these days, let it go once your rage subsides, and don’t make a big scene out of it."

Qin Minghao stopped abruptly.

He glared fiercely at Zhong Boyang: "What rage? Haven’t I done nothing to her? Who sent you to speak on her behalf?"

Zhong Boyang hurriedly waved his hands: "Nobody, I just couldn’t stand it. I mean, as a man, why must you lower yourself to quarrel with a little girl? You spread the word around school saying that Gu tried to seduce you and you were angry. Just think, wouldn’t your crew tear the girl apart? I think Student Gu is quite alright, always studying quietly every day, never stirring up trouble..."

"Say that again."

Qin Minghao yanked Zhong Boyang in front of him, his eyes full of shock and fury.

"You pissed off?"

Zhong Boyang was not scared of Qin Minghao at all. He patted Qin Minghao’s hand, signaling him to let go: "Really, that’s enough."

"So you’re saying I spread the word to have Gu, Gu Anning taught a lesson?"

Qin Minghao was trying to confirm with Zhong Boyang.

Zhong Boyang’s face was full of surprise: "Wasn’t it you... no, you mean you didn’t say that?"

Qin Minghao sneered: "Why would I pick on a little girl over her bumping into me, going as far as letting others bully her? Have I nothing better to do?"

As soon as he finished speaking, both their expressions changed.

"Damn."

Zhong Boyang cursed: "Someone’s setting you up."

Qin Minghao’s expression darkened further.

He gripped Zhong Boyang, demanding: "Who has been bullying Gu Anning recently?"

Zhong Boyang thought for a moment, "Most of the students in Class 1 of Grade 10, and so many girls..."

Before he could finish speaking, Qin Minghao ran towards Class 1 of Grade 10.

As he entered the classroom of Class 1, Grade 10, the bell for class rang, and the teacher, holding the textbook, stood outside the classroom.

Qin Minghao waved at the teacher, "Wait a moment."

He stood on the podium, glaring at all the students of Class 1, Grade 10: "Now, who will tell me what’s up with Gu Anning? Who told you to bully her?"

The students of Class 1, Grade 10 were terrified, all bowing their heads, too scared to speak.

Qin Minghao waited for a while and saw no one responded, so he walked down the podium and grabbed a boy in front: "Speak up, what exactly happened?"

The boy, scared pale, trembled as he spoke: "No, isn’t that what you said? I, I just heard it from others, saying that Gu Anning offended you and that we should teach her a lesson."

Qin Minghao let go, and the boy sat back down.

His eyes fierce, he scanned the classroom: "Where’s Gu Anning?"

"No, she didn’t come," a student bravely answered.

"Where’s her desk?"

Qin Minghao asked again, someone pointed it out to him.

He strode over and saw Gu Anning’s desk in complete disarray.

Her books were torn up and thrown on the desk, the desk was covered in trash, the chair was missing a leg, and there were numerous nails and other objects on the chair surface.

Seeing all this, Qin Minghao didn’t need to think to know what Gu Anning had been through these days.

A wave of anger surged in his heart, and he fiercely kicked the desk, knocking it over: "If I find out who put these there on my behalf, I will make him learn how the word ’death’ is written."

Qin Minghao left in a rage.

Zhong Boyang, standing not far away, slowly walked over: "So, did you find out?"

"No."

Qin Minghao punched the wall: "Damn it, if I know who framed me, I swear I will tear him apart."

Qin Minghao stood still for a while, his emotions somewhat calmed.

He asked Zhong Boyang, "Gu Anning didn’t come to school today; is she sick, or too scared to show up?"

Zhong Boyang shook his head.

Qin Minghao then asked, "Do you know where she lives?"

Zhong Boyang was even more speechless: "How would I know? I’m not close to her."

Qin Minghao headed straight for the principal’s office.

When he arrived, Mr. Gu had just left with the transfer paperwork for Anning.

Qin Minghao didn’t even knock; he just walked into the principal’s office.

Principal Wu was just getting angry, but when he saw Qin Minghao, he didn’t dare show his anger and instead greeted him with a smile full of warmth: "Ming Hao, what brings you here?"

Qin Minghao grabbed a chair and sat down: "Uncle Wu, did Gu Anning ask for leave today?"

Principal Wu’s smile froze: "Why do you ask about her?"

"For no particular reason."

Qin Minghao stared intently at him, making Principal Wu a bit nervous: "No leave. Gu has transferred schools."

"What?"

Qin Minghao stood up in shock, tipping over the chair: "She transferred? Which school did she go to?"

Principal Wu fumbled on the desk: "First Middle School."

Qin Minghao immediately ran outside.

He came out of the teaching building, stood in the campus gasping for breath, looking around, feeling bewildered.

He wanted to go to First Middle School to see Gu Anning.

Only, he also didn’t know on what grounds to go, or what to say to her after seeing her.

After a long time, Qin Minghao sighed deeply, adjusted his collar, and started walking towards the school gate.
