"Then why didn’t you speak up? Why not stop it?"

"It would have been pointless," Xu Jinglan, although a woman, never limited her perspective to these trifles. To her, exposing He Shu would only have served to embarrass her on the spot, serving no greater purpose.

With He Shu’s shamelessness and her act of playing the victim, there wasn’t really anything one could do to her.

Armand seemed deaf to the sarcasm in his voice.

"Get lost!" Lance drew his sword, "Follow me again and I’ll kill you."

"Even if you want to kill me, I must..."

Before Armand could finish, the war sword on Lance’s back was already drawn, viciously cleaving towards Armand’s throat; Lance was deadly serious, no joke or test.
