The Commander’s Useless Wife Is Actually a Hidden Boss!
Chapter 479: The Subordinate Arrived Late
CHAPTER 479: CHAPTER 479: THE SUBORDINATE ARRIVED LATE
She subconsciously held her hand over her heart, which was still beating for Fuxing; she still loved him dearly.
But ... why did she hesitate?
Jon’s eyes flickered with curiosity.
"Who will arrive first?"
Jon was even more astonished, but thankfully they had already discussed it in advance. Nonetheless, even if one party arrived first, he wouldn’t hand anyone over, as he couldn’t explain to the latter arrivals. For them, the best solution was for both parties to arrive, and then to let Lin Fu make her own choice.
"To arrive together."
"How much longer?"
"Estimated ten days."
"Then I’ll think about it!"
"Alright, then I won’t disturb you any longer."
Ten days flashed by, and on this day, Lin Fu finally left her home. Together with Xia Huangyu, she followed Jon aboard a spacecraft to a nearby space transfer station. During the waiting period, Xia Huangyu whispered, "We haven’t seen Prince Clive yet?"
"He must have already left; he wouldn’t come to a place like this, otherwise he couldn’t leave."
Standing at the railing, Lin Fu gazed into the vast starry sky, then turned to Xia Huangyu and said, "Clive has long left; he wouldn’t stay in such a place. If he did, neither he nor anyone else could leave alive, whether it’s me or others. There are too many people who want to kill him."
Xia Huangyu was stunned for a moment, then quickly understood and said softly, "That’s indeed the case. It’s not only you who want to kill him; I do too."
After these words, the two of them no longer spoke, maintaining similar poses as they stood silently at the railing, waiting.
About half an hour later, two massive warships appeared in their field of view.
This was just a small space transfer station in a remote star system, usually frequented only by space pirates or smugglers. Such huge warships had never appeared before, and their sudden arrival caused panic among everyone in the station.
Some even piloted their spacecraft to flee immediately, while those who could not escape trembled inside their ships, scared to come out for fear of being captured.
Only Lin Fu and her companions remained calm and on high alert.
Soon, each of the two warships sent a representative to meet with Jon and the others.
Lin Cheng’s side was represented by Lin Qingfeng.
Unexpectedly, Fuxing’s side sent Murphy as their representative.
As soon as Murphy appeared, Lin Fu and Xia Huangyu exchanged a look, seeing a hint of surprise in each other’s eyes.
"Your Highness," Lin Qingfeng, seeing Lin Fu with her hair returned to pink, approached with emotional tears in his eyes. He quickly knelt on one knee and respectfully announced, "Subject greets Your Highness. I’m sorry for my late arrival."
"Rise," Lin Fu looked at Lin Qingfeng, her feelings now different from those during their last meeting at the First Military Command College.
Words like ’cheap old man’ could never be said again, and although she still trusted Lin Qingfeng, the feeling was different.
Lin Qingfeng was not surprised at all; he had anticipated this situation before the gene modification surgery. He stood up and, cheerfully looking at Lin Fu, said, "It’s great that you are safe; we can finally relax."
"Cough cough..." Murphy’s response was slower than Lin Qingfeng’s.
His expression complex, he followed closely behind Lin Qingfeng, elegantly bowing, and respectfully said, "I represent Duke Fuxing to welcome Lady home."
