CHAPTER 480: CHAPTER 480: WOULD YOU LIKE TO COME HOME WITH ME?
"Go home." Lin Fu muttered to herself, her eyes flickering as she suddenly caught a glimpse of someone not far away, her expression one of shock.
There in the distance, Fu Xing, dressed in a crisp military uniform, stood without knowing when he arrived, gazing at Lin Fu across the void. His handsome face lifted in a faint smile as he opened his arms to her.
Following Lin Fu’s gaze, the others also noticed Fu Xing.
The tension suddenly rose among Jon’s company; some even averted their eyes.
Though Fu Xing stood alone, the aura that surrounded him pressured everyone on the scene, leaving them feeling breathless.
Jon watched and couldn’t help but wryly smile; he now understood why the Prince and the Duchess had agreed to release Lin Fu unconditionally.
The two powerful backers behind this man were not to be provoked, especially since Fu Xing now controlled most of the Galaxy Empire’s authority. Being not yet thirty, he was frighteningly powerful.
"Fu Xing."
Lin Fu called out instinctively, her body involuntarily rushing toward him, hurling herself into his embrace and holding him tightly.
Fu Xing hugged her back, tightly, with such force it seemed he wanted to meld her into his body, "I’m sorry; I’m late."
Lin Fu felt as if she could no longer breathe, yet instinctively, she clung to the warmth of Fu Xing’s embrace, his scent filling her nostrils.
"Do you want to come home with me?" Fu Xing lowered his head, his eyes narrowing dangerously when his gaze fell on the suppression ring around Lin Fu’s neck, a sinister light mingling in his eyes.
At that moment, Lin Fu’s thoughts were a tangle of confusion. Her mind hesitated, but her heart beat so ferociously it seemed it might leap from her chest.
Since waking from hibernation, Lin Fu, who hadn’t been greatly emotional, now had reddened eyes.
Unable to control herself, she bit down hard on Fu Xing’s shoulder and accused, "Why have you only come now? I’ve been waiting for you. Why so late? Was Joseph V’s funeral more important than picking me up?"
Fu Xing hurriedly denied it, "How could that be possible? How could his funeral be more important than you? He is dead; he’s gone. In my heart, you are definitely the most important."
Lin Fu didn’t believe a word Fu Xing said; she tilted her chin up, eyeing him curiously.
Her puzzled gaze met his, causing Fu Xing to pause, "What is it?"
"Nothing, I just feel like you’ve changed; you weren’t such a sweet-talker before."
Fu Xing chuckled, his demeanor as if they had never parted, affectionately stroking her hair, his smile tinged with laughter, "Of course I’ve changed. If I hadn’t, my wife might have gone off with someone else."
"I was planning on going with someone else."
She had braced herself to go to the Eternal City. But Fu Xing came for her personally; how could she possibly refuse him?
Lin Qingfeng had a sinking feeling from the moment he saw Fu Xing, realizing that he was no match for Duke Fuxing.
He reacted quickly, immediately sending a message to Lin Cheng, who was still on the spaceship. He informed Lin Cheng to hurry over or Princess would be taken away by someone else.
Lin Cheng, still on the spaceship, had already seen everything unfolding in the space station through his smart device. Normally in control of his emotions, Lin Cheng now slammed his fist into the table in front of him, shattering it into pieces that clattered to the ground.
