“Do you mean Theresa?”

“You’re too good to me…” She feared she couldn’t handle it, even more, afraid that the kindness she received now would cost her an unbearable price later.

“There are many who are good to you. I feel the pressure, fearing that falling one step behind would grant others a chance to outstrip me.” Fu Xing quietly took her hand, squeezing it gently, his warm and solid palm providing an inexplicable sense of security.

“Somebody is trying to sway you from me.” Fu Xing’s gaze turned cold as he caught sight of Han Shuang from the corner of his eye.

“What are you thinking?”

Lin Fu rolled her eyes but didn’t elaborate much. There was really nothing between her and Han Shuang; anything that would have happened should have occurred long ago, not now.

“What did you say to my uncle last night? You took so long to finish?”

She had waited in her room for a long time the day before, falling asleep before he returned, and today her uncle departed early in the morning, leaving her quite curious. She had asked, but both men kept silent.

“We discussed the issue of our marriage.”

Hearing Fu Xing mention the word ‘marriage,’ Lin Fu found it so out of touch that she laughed, “What is there to discuss about our marriage?”
