He approached, the alluring scent grew even stronger.

Lu Shinian observed all around; the living room stood vacant, the aroma beckoned from the kitchen.

"Ruan Ruan." His voice dipped, resonating, as he called.

Su Ruan caught his voice, turning briefly to respond, "You’re here; the meal’s almost ready."

The fragrance enveloped them, his earnest wife engrossed in her task became a heartwarming image.

Peaceful and delightful, warmth rose within him as Lu Shinian advanced to enfold Su Ruan.

He slightly lowered his head, peering intently at her profile, and chuckled softly, "Why the thought of cooking, Ruan Ruan?"

"Just got fresh vegetables and fruits delivered." Su Ruan switched off the stove and scattered some green onions, "Thought I’d try some, the meal’s ready."

Her elbow nudged Lu Shinian’s waist, "Let’s eat."

Lu Shinian’s throat bobbed slightly, his voice carried a hoarse tone, "But I’m more tempted to devour Ruan Ruan."

Su Ruan: ...

"I’m human, not food." She wriggled free from his embrace, her delicate face displaying some teasing, "Let’s eat dinner!"
