CHAPTER 73: 73: STRATEGIZING

Angelo

"The Fuck? Why would you suggest that?" I barked but Landon just glared at me, his fingers brushing Sue’s hair out of her face before he responded.

"Well, you both look quite reluctant, so..."

I let out a strangled laugh. "That’s because I have to be rational! As the eldest, I can’t afford to make rash decisions cause at the end of the day, the blame is gonna fall on my shoulders if anything goes wrong," I snapped and he finally averted his gaze, having the decency to appear a little embarrassed.

"I have to weigh all our options well, to ensure that we’re making the best decisions right now, cause this is something that might be difficult to reverse." I continued as I folded my arms.

Damon cleared his throat, holding a hand up. "Not true though. It can easily be reversed, if we just decide to reject her and make her accept the rejection."

I let out a sigh, scrubbing a hand over my face in confusion. Damon was just so difficult in this entire situation. He’s the first person who spent time alone with Sue before we finally arrived, and one night even thought he’d end up being the one who’d get closest to her amongst the three of us, not knowing it’s gonna be the complete opposite.

I want to believe that he has his reasons and I’d really like to know what they are. On a normal day, Damon was hard to understand for strangers, but we’ve already gotten used to his coldness, so it’s like a norm. However in this situation, a little empathy would definitely be good.

"That’s just gonna seem like a whole lot of trouble, why go out of our way to save her only to put her through a rejection?" Landon demanded, sounding like he genuinely cared for an answer.

"Well, we’re definitely not planning to marry her or make her our Luna, yes? So technically we don’t even have any other option." He pointed out before adding, his gaze darting between the two of us as he continued. "Besides, she’s not gonna wanna be mated to us. Should she realize that she’s bonded to us, she’d definitely not be happy. So technically, rejecting her after she’s safe and had gotten out of danger wouldn’t be a bad thing cause it’s something she’d want."

Once he finished speaking, I hated to admit it but he was right. After all that we’ve done to her, she’d definitely want the bond severed at once.

"But... won’t forging a bond only to sever it immediately not affect our wolves?" Landon asked and I frowned, cause I hadn’t thought of that yet."

"It might, since after all we’ve fated mates and not chosen." I muttered and we all sighed at the same time again.

"But we have no choice but to do it. Our wolves would undoubtedly be alright. So, what do you all think?" I breathed out and Landon nodded almost immediately. When I glanced over at Damon, he still seemed to be deep in thoughts.

"I was thinking, what if before we sever the bond, we make a deal with her?" He began to speak as he stepped closer and Landon and I exchanged a quick glance.

"What do you mean?"

He shrugged. "Well, seeing as she’ll instantly want the hind severed, if we refuse to do it unless she chose to do something for us in return, she’ll do it no matter what, yes?" As Damon continued, I already had a feeling of where he was heading towards.

"So, why don’t we refuse to sever the bond till after she agrees to help us break the curse?" He finally revealed and my eyes widened. I really hadn’t thought of that yet.

"Damon... you manipulative bastard." Landon breathed out around a laugh and I let out a surprise chuckle.

Damon was such a bastard... but also a genius.

He was grinning right now, clearly proud of himself as he folded his hands, eyebrows arched. "The plan is good, yes?"

"It is without a doubt, however I’m worried that after doing that, there’d be no turning back, and she’ll forever detest us." Landon pointed out quietly and I hummed while Damon laughed.

"So? It wouldn’t make much difference since after all, she already detests us as it is."

Landon clicked his tongue. "You’re mistaken, dear brother. She detests you the most because, well, you treat her very horribly, the most out of all three of us."

Damon looked like he was about to argue before sighing and throwing his hands up. "Don’t sound like that, you know I suck with people."

I snorted this time. "That doesn’t excuse most of your actions, Damon. You really suck, bro."

He rolled his eyes this time. "Whatever. So, are we going by my plan?"

I let out a sigh as I nodded. "I think that’s our best shot, I guess. At least if there’s no future with us and her, we should get our curses broken at least."

Landon slowly nodded, but he didn’t look happy.

"I still had a feeling telling her about the curse and asking her to help us would be way better than blackmailing and manipulating her." Landon pointed out but Damon rolled his eyes while scoffing.

"That’s not gonna work. How would she agree to help a bunch of people that made her into a slave? That took her against her will and brought her over here? That was supposed to make her Luna but didn’t end up doing that?"

As Damon kept speaking, it was clear that he was right. There was no way she’d ever agree to help us willingly. I do feel bad about the blackmailing but technically we’re left with no choice here.

"I don’t know? Explaining to her why we did certain things and apologizing might be a good start. I just feel like that’s a really better option than blackmailing her. I feel uncomfortable just thinking about it." Landon sighed out this time.

"Since when do you start apologizing? I never knew that was something you were capable of." Damon drawled and Landon rolled his eyes.

"I hate doing it, but I’m not completely opposed to doing it in certain situations, especially when I’m clearly in the wrong. You should try doing it sometimes."

"No, thank you. and you’ve gone ridiculous soft. You didn’t used to have a heart. What the fuck happened to mr. Allergic to emotions?" Damon continued and I shot him a sharp look, while at the same time, an almost confused look appeared over Landon’s face.

Before he could start to defend himself, I clapped my Hands.

"We’re running out of time, guys. Are we doing this or not?" I called out and they both glanced at me.

"Yup." Damon drawled.

"Fine." Landon grumbled.

I clapped my hands again.

"Let’s do it then."

When we sent for the doctor again, he said that Landon should take a step back while Damon and I take turns In scenting her, because we all have to make our scents entwined before this can work.

"Although, from what I can feel after examining her, she has the strongest bond with Landon here." The doctor explained and I couldn’t stop myself from glowering at Landon who had a smug look on his face.

"Why though? Did he do anything special that we didn’t?" Damon asked as he folded his hands.

"I don’t know, your majesty. You’re the least connected to her as well." The doctor said to Damon and Landon barked out a laugh, while Damon appeared displeased, which was confusing as hell cause if he doesn’t want a thing to do with Sue, he’s not supposed to care about shit like this, but right now, he seems like he does.

"After you all take turns scenting her, take turns biting her as well, then that should do the trick."

I frowned. "That’s it?" I asked and the doctor nodded.

"Yes, your majesty. However, it should happen at midnight.

I exhaled as I nodded at him. "Alright. Thank you for your help."

After a few more exchanges, he turned to leave and I saw him all the way to the door, and that’s where I saw the T triplets trying to come into this room but were being stopped by our guards. I instantly stiffened as I regarded them for a bit before I stepped out and closed the door after me.

"What the fuck is happening?" I barked and my guards all stepped away, while the triplets sauntered forward, a furious expression on their faces.

"We heard our mate is hurt, thanks to your psycho lunas! Present her to us right now!" Their eldest demanded and I scoffed.

"And why the fuck would we do that?"

"Because clearly you can’t protect her enough. I heard her life is on the line. I swear to the moon goddess... If our mate dies, just prepare for war!"
