The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss
Chapter 361: Party for the Future
"Mama, what's that?" I ask, seeing Mama Grimm doing something strange. She seems to be packing something inside a box or something like that, and I also sense magic.
"Oh, this, daughter? It's a present for Pandora, her birthday is coming up and obviously I plan to show up there and maybe I'll even do something extra...well, it doesn't really matter much," she says as she packs that thing.
"Birthday?" I ask, confused.
"Azazel, a birthday is a party to celebrate someone's birth. You'll also have a birthday party in a few months, I'll celebrate the day you were born with a big party," Mama Grimm says, and I get excited.
"That's cool!! I wanna go too! I wanna see Mama Pandoru!!" I say, all happy about it. I also want to participate, and in the future, I want Mama Pandoru to participate in my birthday.
"I also wanna see my little sister Eclipsya!!" I'm sure she missed me just as much as I missed her, and finding her again will be fun.
"That's great, daughter. I'll take you with me, of course. So, do you want money to buy something for Pandora? Or would you rather make something with your own hands?" Mama Grimm asks, and I think about it.
"I wanna make it myself...you're not lying to me, are you? After all, even though you've taught me to spend money, you don't let me leave the castle, so I could only spend it here inside," I say, and she sighs.
"No, I'm not trying to trick you," she says, and I look at her suspiciously. She tricked me and tried to make me see something forbidden, and Mama Pandoru got angry with me.
"For real for real?" I ask, trying to be sure. Is she not lying to me and going to the party alone?
"Yes, for real for real, I'll take you with me to the party, don't worry," she confirms with a smile, but I'm still suspicious. She's very clever, how do I know if it's true or if it's a lie?
"Really truly really true?" I question again, watching her reaction. I want to confirm if it's the truth or just another lie.
"Yes, really truly that is really true," she says with a sigh that sounds tired, but I still don't know if I believe her word, which could be a lie.
"True..."
"Daughter, why don't you go play with your toys? That doll of Pandora you're always hugging, doesn't it miss you?" Mama Grimm interrupts, drawing my attention.
"Oh, yes, okay then," I say, getting up and going to the door. I need to go to my room to get it.
"Can I really go to Mama Pandoru's party?" I ask, and she nods.
"Of course you can, daughter...and why do you keep calling Pandora 'Pandoru'? I bet you already know how to say the name right," she asks, and I think about what to say.
"I know, but I think I like how it sounds. Mama Pandoru is cool, and it makes me feel like I'm giving her a special and intimate treatment that's just mine," I say with a smile. I think I can pronounce Pandora without any problems, but I prefer Pandoru.
"I understand, and in fact, it's cute, so you can keep doing it," she says, and I leave through the door, finding two maids who usually stay around to make sure Mama Grimm isn't teaching me anything inappropriate.
"Hi," I say, and one of the maids nods.
"Princess, did the Queen Grimm say anything improper or inappropriate?" the other maid asks gently.
"No, she said there's going to be a party for Mama Pandoru and that I can go," I say with a smile. This kind maid helps me a lot. She's a maid from Mama Pandoru and is here to prevent Mama Grimm from teaching me anything inappropriate.
"Oh, yes, the Demon King's birthday is coming up, so it makes sense. She's going to take you with her to this party?" the maid asks, curious, and I nod quickly.
"Yes!!! I just have to make a present for Mama Pandoru before...but what would I do..." I've already understood that I shouldn't be chasing maids around. Lately, I've been having a lot of lessons that teach me various things.
"Maid, what is a Demon King? I don't know...can I be a Demon King like Mama Pandoru and make her proud?" I ask, curious, setting the present aside for a moment.
"..." The maids look at each other, seeming to be thinking about what to say. The quieter one averts her gaze, as if not wanting this responsibility, while the one who usually talks lets out a sigh.
"Princess, a Demon King is someone chosen by the Goddess of the Abyss to lead the demons. It's a position of prestige, but...it's not specifically hereditary, since it's the Goddess of the Abyss who chooses. So, we don't know if you could become a Demon King," she says, and I'm a bit disappointed.
"Who is the Goddess of the Abyss?" I ask, curious, as I start walking, following the maid as we head to my room.
"The Goddess of the Abyss...is your grandmother," she says, and my eyes shine.
"Grandma??!" I say, shocked. I didn't know I had a grandma. I've studied a lot and understand that you can have a lot of different relatives, and a Grandma is like, really important in the family.
"That's right, princess. She is your mother's mother, so she is your Grandmother," she says cheerfully, and I smile at her.
"Where is Grandma? Can I see Grandma?" I ask, and she seems to tense up.
"The Goddess of the Abyss...cannot appear for now. I believe this is something to discuss with the Demon King. I'm sorry I can't help much, but this is something you have to ask one of your mothers," the maid says, and I nod.
"Okay, I'll talk to Mama Pandoru to see Grandma," I say with a smile as we arrive at my room. I open the door, seeing a large amount of toys and plushies scattered around the corners, along with mirrored books.
They are books about maps, history, biology, magic, and several other topics. Some are very boring, but others are quite fun, since some even mention Mama Pandoru.
"Princess, you should be more organized. Remember, the Demon King said you need to study a lot, but you shouldn't neglect and leave your room a mess," the maid says, and I roll my eyes.
"I know, I know, I was just busy in the morning and ended up forgetting. Besides, Mama Grimm is teaching me magic in the morning!" I say excitedly. She's teaching me how to use magic and control Mana.
"She said I have a lot of talent and learn quickly. I like learning magic," I boast, and the maid smiles.
"That's great, princess. Unfortunately, we can't teach or help with that, but we hope you can learn a lot. I'm sure the Demon King will be very happy to hear about your progress," the maid says, and I think of something.
"And my little sister? Will she be happy? She's pretty cold, but even she would get excited about this, right?" She has a strange power, moving things with her hands from a distance, different from me, who manipulates my own blood and that of others.
"Probably yes, Princess Eclipsya should be happy if she knows you've learned magic when you show the spells to her," the maid says, and I nod.
"She's really cute too!" I add, imagining her happy face when I show her the magic. She's as cute as me, so she must get incredibly cuter.
"Yes, Princess, Princess Eclipsya is as cute as you," the maid agrees with a smile, as I look around as if I'm about to share a huge secret.
"Did you know she's really smart??! She knows how to trick others!!" I say, as if it were a big secret about Eclipsya that I discovered. That mischievous little smile she gave me is not something a baby who doesn't know things does.
I know this because Mama Grimm said I used to chase maids around in a similar way, pretending to be sad and crying, and attacking maids as soon as they got close.
Although my little sister Eclipsya doesn't use it to chase maids, it's a fact that she's quite false when she tries, and that she knows how to be very mischievous, but hides it behind that cold face.
"Oh, is that so?" the maid says with a little smile.
"Yes, yes! It's true," I say confidently, knowing that I'm one of the few who knows this. However, even that cold little girl completely fell apart after a kiss, and I won't forget that.
Although Mama Pandoru gets very angry if I do that, so I won't do it again until I'm an adult. But when Eclipsya grows up, I'll definitely brag about it, saying that she couldn't even handle a kiss and fell apart, losing all that tough-girl pose.
"Well, that's great, princess, but isn't it lunchtime? It's better not to miss the schedule," the maid informs me gently. I nod, entering the room to grab my toy.
"Okay, I'll go have lunch now, just a moment, I'll get my toy!!" I need my Mama Pandoru doll. It's special, and it's so much fun to play with.
"Here it is!! Let's go," I grab the doll from my bed, hugging it. It's a really cool doll that looks like Mama Pandoru. It's soft and fun to play with.
