CHAPTER 249: SEND HER OUT

"why?" Mary looked displeased. The plan was to have them sleep together. It would be best if Anastasia’ got pregnant. She even asked physician Nathan about Anastasia’s condition and found out she could have children.

So she could not understand why the King did not want to sleep with her.

"Since she dares to be stubborn I just want to force her. I do not want her to bear my children. This is her punishment for not reconciliating peaceful," king Edward said.

"Your caused this mess. If you had gone to that room as soon as you got the signal from the maid, she would not have the time to ecape," Mary was angry. She felt that her son with his pettiness ruined such a good plan. This was not the time to think about punishment. Moreover, Mary was quite satisfied with Anastasia as her daughter in-law.

"My fault? This is all due to those servants negligent," Edward said before drinking the wine he poured for himself in frustration.

The he patiently recounted what Elizabeth had said. He had also checked her head and noticed it was indeed injured.

"What do you plan to do now?" Mary could not understand why things were getting more complicated.

"Set up another plan, I must get Anastasia’ back into the palace," King Edward said.

Mary looked at her son, "how?" Mary felt she heard a joke. Anastasia did not want to come back and us comfortable with being a commoner. This time, if the king had been more careful there would be no scandal and they could make more plans in the future but now such a thing had happened, if it is not properly managed it would become a serious issue.

"Leave this to me mother," king Edward said. A ruthless glit flashed his eyes.

Mary felt that things might not go well but she stopped herself from saying another word. Edward was the king after all, and she did not plan to control his decision.

....

Somewhere close to the east courtyard.

"I heard the king was caught in a room with a noble lady today," one maid whisper to her friend.

"Lower your voice, " her friend said looking a bit scared. After all, gossiping about the king was a serious offense.

"No one is here, more then news is already all over the palace," the maid said fearlessly.

The other maid look around, seeing there was really no one in sight she became curious, "which noble lady is that? "

"I heard she is the former queen’s sister," the first maid answered.

"Is that not strange? " The second maid asked.

"What is strang about that? I heard this lady has always been jealous of lady Anastasia’ so maybe when she saw an opportunity she seduce the king," the first maid asked.

"True, but I heard previously that she was engaged, what would become of it?" The second maid said after a while.

"How should I know? But really what man dares to snatched a woman from the king," the first maid said.

"Would his majesty really marry her?" The other asked.

"Maybe or she could become his mistress," the first maid joked.

"What nonsense are you saying? The king already has a mistress," the second maid said.

"Mistress? I think she has run out of favor. Moreover, noblemen look for reason to change mistress all the time," the first maid said.

"I doubt it, the king loves that lady, maybe he would marry this lady Elizabeth since his bride run to the monastery," the second maid said.

Gossip like this were going around the palace until it got to Dorothy.

"What?" Dorothy was shocked

"This is a lie, the king can not be with another woman," she refused to believe her ear. The king loved her so much. He promised that she was the only one for him.

How could he suddenly be with another woman. Moreover, after the ritual, the seer had assured her that she would be the only woman by the king’s side. She was the destined Queen.

"My lady, this is true and so many ladies witness it," the nanny said with certainty.

"No," Dorothy refused to believe

"My lady, I am telling you this to prepare you. Perhaps you should go and see his majesty. There is a rumor going round that he might welcome her in as his mistress. If that happens my lady would have to leave the palace," the nanny explained to her. A mistress was different from a wife. She could be charged easily.

"That is impossible, I already beat him a son," Dorothy said. The king loved her. How could he hear to send her away.

The two were still arguing when the head a servant greet the king, "your Majesty,"

"See, the king is here to explain things to me," Dorothy said smuggly.

The nanny looked at Dorothy with relief but she was still a bit worried.

"Your Majesty," the nanny bowed as soon as the king walked in. Dorothy also got up but she did not smile as usual.

Edward used his hand to wave the nanny away.

"Why do you look unhappy," king Edward said as he hugged Dorothy close to himself.

Dorothy bite her lips but did not say anything. King Edward took his seat and made her seat on his lap. He understood that she must have heard the news going around the palace.

"Do you still love me?" King Edward asked. His smile was gentle.

"Your majesty, hurts me by asking this question. You know I love you and all I want is to have a space in your heart," Dorothy said. Since the queen’s position would eventually be here, she did not want the king to know her thoughts.

"I also love you very much and you are the only woman in my heart. Even if I have other women around me, it is just because of my position as the king," King Edward said. Hearing this Dorothy could not help but smile.

"Your majesty, is the best thing that has happened to me," Dorothy said.

Edward smile and kiss her lips lightly. "The situation of the kingdom is not stable, can you do me a favor. Although it would be not be fair on you but you have to bear with it a little," king Edward said

Hearing those words, Dorothy had a bad feeling. Your Majesty, I will do anything for you," Dorothy said despite feeling uneasy.

"I want you to leave the palace for a while. I promise it would not be more than to years," Edward said. His voice still sounding calm

Dorothy felt her body go cold. Edward could also feel the chance. "Your Majesty just said you love me but now you are sending me away. Do you really love me," Dorothy could not hold back her tears. She had just boosted to the nanny that the king would not send her away and in the next moment he was doing just that.

"Do not cry," the king said and help her clean her tears. "This is for the grand plan. I promise you would return to the palace, this time, you will not be my mistress, but I will make you my queen. The woman standing next to me," king Edward said. He knew he was asking her to do something serious.

"Your majesty treats me like a fool. How can I become your queen? I am just a commoner. I do not desire deposition of a Queen. I just want to stay near you," Dorothy felt scared. She was worried that after she left the palace the king would forget about her.

"Do you not trust me? In two years I will marry you as my wife and name you my queen," Edward said clearing her tears.

"You must have heard the news going around, I have thought about it, the only way to resolve this issue is to take that lady as my mistress. My mother already discussed reconciliation with the queen. She agreed to return on the condition that you leave," Edward lied with a clean gaze. He wanted to send Dorothy away and used this rumors to force Anastasia back. He already found out that she did not get along with her sister. So he wanted to bring the two into the palace. Make them fight and destroy each other.

While he would use this opportunity to stabilize his throne. Then marry the woman he loved as his queen.

"So you are sending me away because of the queen?" Dorothy became even more scared.

"You are wrong, I am pretending to send you away, I just need this time to arrange and stabilize the kingdom. After that you will be my queen, and our son would be my heir," King Edward said.

Dorothy looked at the king, the promise was tempting but she was worried he was lying to her. "Your majesty is not lying to me?" She asked.

"Why would I? If I wanted to send you out of the palace is there a need for me to explain?" King Edward asked feeling irritated.

Dorothy thought about it, she was just a mistress with no backing sending her away was a matter of words but she was still scared that he would forget her after she left.
