The 'Defective' Billionaire and His Relentless Appetite for Me
Chapter 129: Beasts
CHAPTER 129: CHAPTER 129: BEASTS
Clara Bennett waved her hand and said softly, "My second brother has already arranged everything for me, so you don’t need to worry anymore."
In truth, she had her own concerns.
If this marriage ends in the future, being too close might cause troubles, making it even more embarrassing.
William Foster agreed superficially, with a tone tinged with a trace of helplessness, "Alright, since that’s the case, I can rest assured."
However, deep down inside, he was already planning to secretly assign a loyal subordinate to apply for an assistant position at the agency where Clara’s second brother worked.
His personality was inherently strong-minded, and he always felt that only by having someone he trusts around his young wife could he be completely at ease.
Clara still had some things to deal with in the afternoon, so William wasn’t able to accompany her when she left.
Nevertheless, despite this, the time spent together was meaningful enough for him.
Not only did he have the opportunity to fully appreciate her beautiful face, but he also gained permission to get a little closer.
Moreover, when discussing the upcoming visit of the three important uncles, he felt an unprecedented sense of care from Clara’s words.
Clara said to him, with a serious expression, "If there’s really something you can’t solve, then don’t force yourself to meet them. Let them come to me directly to talk."
Upon hearing this, William deliberately adopted a weak demeanor and replied, "Isn’t this not quite right? After all, they are my elders. They often use so-called rules to oppress people. If I’m even slightly cold towards them, they might use it as an excuse to punish me with family law."
Hearing this, Clara, already quite unhappy, became even more furious, questioning, "What? Have they really used family law against you before? What exactly did they do?"
Facing this sudden interrogation, William explained in a calm and casual manner, "Actually, nothing particularly serious happened. The worst was being confined, not allowed to eat, or being made to kneel in the ancestral hall for reflection."
"My leg actually became like this after an accident when I was a child, not due to any innate defect. The uncles aren’t completely unreasonable people; they don’t easily resort to whipping unless it’s a significant mistake."
Unexpectedly, this statement only fueled greater anger, and Clara raised her voice in emotional agitation, shouting, "They actually have the audacity to use a whip! Such behavior is simply inhumane!"
Seeing Clara getting angry on his behalf, William secretly enjoyed it yet feigned calmness as he tugged at her finger, saying, "Young Madam, don’t harm your health with anger. Although those people are harsh, they are ultimately family, and blood is thicker than water. Compared to those outside who wish for my demise, they still have some emotional ties, right?"
Listening to him, Clara felt a twinge at her nose, her eyes shimmering with tears.
Thinking about all the hardships and difficulties William had endured, combined with the unresolved shadows from her past life, she felt even more distressed.
She gently pulled him into her embrace, lightly patting his back, and comforted him with a warm voice, "Darling, don’t worry, everything will pass. If they bully you again, just avoid them and ignore their provocations. Should they dare lay a hand on you or hassle you in any way, call me immediately and see how I deal with them for you!"
William acted spoilt in her embrace, saying, "Thank you, Young Madam. With you by my side, I feel like I’m afraid of nothing now. It’s as if I’ve found the safest haven."
The three uncles standing not far away discreetly rolled their eyes in their hearts: Wow, this kid really is a top-notch actor!
Did he show even a trace of fear?
Before leaving, Clara didn’t hurry to depart from there.
After all, they showed up in an unfriendly manner.
They claimed to visit together, but their stance clearly bore ill intent, unsettling her.
Clara stepped to the car and called Arthur Davis over, carefully instructing him, "Arthur, I want you to remember, if Mr. William Foster’s relatives come to cause trouble again, you must contact me immediately, regardless of the reason, excuse, or purpose, do you understand? Make sure to report to me swiftly and accurately."
Though Arthur seemed a bit puzzled, he nodded seriously, indicating he understood and would remember this matter: "Yes, Young Madam."
Clara stared at him intently, her expression growing more serious and solemn.
"You must have learned martial arts, right? If these elders indeed act against William, do you know how to correctly and promptly respond? For example, ensuring both your own safety and that William remains unharmed."
Arthur shook his head in a clueless manner, "I’m not very clear on what exactly to do."
In his view, at home Mr. William has always been one of the most authoritative figures, and no one dares openly oppose him.
Could there still be someone who would use the so-called "family rules" to constrain and manage Mr. William?
This thought is truly absurd and incomprehensible.
Clara frowned deeply, her tone full of exasperation, "You are the most loyal bodyguard! When faced with these situations, just smack them a few times, won’t you? Don’t be afraid to stir up trouble, be brave! As long as you act first, when I arrive, I’ll back you up, ensuring no one dares find fault with you!"
Arthur responded softly, with some helplessness and reverence, "Oh, I understand, Young Madam."
After Clara left, Arthur immediately relayed these words verbatim to William Foster.
William Foster covered his mouth, nearly unable to contain his laughter, almost to the point of tears.
Arthur looked at Mr. Foster, bewildered, cautiously asking, "Mr. Foster, are you really telling me to hit your uncles? I really don’t know what to do."
William Foster laughed heartily, unable to stop.
He felt his young wife was simply too adorable, with an alluring and radiant appearance, a bold and carefree personality, yet possessing a tender heart.
Her actions always carried a bit of innocence and simplicity, making her increasingly lovable, like a warm little sun that constantly lights up everything around.
Once he finished laughing, William Foster waved his hand at Arthur, saying, "Young Madam’s words, just listen, don’t take too seriously. But for her happiness, don’t show any flaws in front of her, make sure she thinks we’re all very serious."
Arthur nodded earnestly, saying, "Understood, I’ll be careful not to let Young Madam discover the truth."
Clara said she had things to do, she wasn’t dismissing anyone, there was indeed an urgent matter that needed handling.
