CHAPTER 791: THE HELLFIRE

Along with the three earthly supernaturals, the angels reached a particular part of the Heaven realm that resided on one side of the massive Aramis Mountain.

They stopped at one of the peak’s surfaces, which had nothing ahead but an endless depth. There, a threatening whirlpool of powerful divine energy raged—so strong that it could destroy the soul of even the mightiest being in existence, whether deity or demon.

That magically shining whirlpool seemed to hold endless darkness in its depths; once pulled inside, it was impossible to escape.

Petra looked at Sierra. "I’m freeing you from these magical chains only so you can jump from that peak and vanish from here. I believe you never thought your end would come this way."

Sierra looked at her calmly and said, "What more can you do to me? Scare me with death? I’ve died several times before—because I was scared of it already. You’d better pray for your own lives, because you won’t be spared either." Sierra shrugged off the chains. Though she could now use her magic, she knew it was too weak to harm any of the angels. All she could hope for was that her death would alert the other deities and ruin Isis’s plan.

She looked at her daughter and Ember. "Be patient. They will come for you."

"Mother, please don’t..." Seren pleaded, her eyes teary. Then looked at Petra. "You can throw me into the Hollow instead of my mother. She’s weak and no threat to any of you...."

"Even if I throw you there, you won’t die because of that Hellfire," Petra countered. "And stop crying for your disgusting mother. She doesn’t deserve to exist. Her ugly presence is a stain on the beauty of this Heaven realm." With that, Petra signaled the other angels to drag Sierra toward the edge.

"Don’t call my mother ugly," Seren said, her expression filled with rage. "Don’t hurt her—or I might truly kill you....I said don’t...." She screamed her heart out.

No one listened to her, and she watched her mother being taken toward the edge of the cliff. The helplessness made Seren feel worse. It was the feeling she hated the most all her life—soon replaced by her anger.

"You wicked beings." She gritted her teeth, her breath heavy. Her fists clenched as her nerves tightened. Her purple eyes began to burn, like fire igniting within them.

Meanwhile, Ember was lost somewhere, as blurry memories from the past flashed in front of her eyes. This same place—a woman trapped in countless chains was being dragged toward the edge of the cliff by heavenly guards.

She was utterly enraged, as if all she wanted was to free herself from those chains, destroy the entire Heavenly realm, and then jump into the Celestial Hollow of her own will. Even with the core of her power taken away, she was so powerful that it took hundreds of heavenly guards to try and restrain her.

She was the most powerful deity in the Heaven realm—the Deity of Fire.

All the deities standing at the top of the cliffs above were looking down at her, waiting for her to be thrown into the Celestial Hollow. They looked as though they wouldn’t be able to breathe unless they saw her gone forever. Even without her complete core, she was more powerful than them—and that terrified them.

Her furious voice echoed like thunder. The sky above responded to her anger, flashing with threatening thunderbolts, as if ready to cast the entire Heaven realm into chaos.

"I swear, on my name... I will return even from the depths of this Hollow and destroy you all. My soul won’t perish until I fulfill it... I will return and destroy you all, wicked deities... I, Deity of Fire, swear my revenge..."

Unbeknownst to the two angry women, their chains loosened. Petra immediately stepped back, distancing herself from Seren and Ember, a light smirk playing on her lips.

"Don’t hurt my mother!" Seren screamed in fury.

"Throw her!"

A deity’s voice from the past matched Petra’s voice in the present.

’Not this time!’ Ember opened her emerald green eyes, blazing with rage. ’I refuse to die.’

The angels were about to push Sierra down the cliff when, in the next moment, a huge volcanic explosion erupted at the edge, taking all the angels by surprise and sending dangerous vibrations rippling across the Heaven realm.

An enraged Ember was floating in the air, hellfire surrounding her entirely as she savoured her true powers for the first time—but the hellfire was coming from Seren’s body, while Ember was the one controlling it. Her gaze darkened with the fury and killing intent.

Surrounded by hellfire emanating from her own body, Seren floated next to Ember, unconscious entirely as if her body was being controlled by Ember and her hellfire.

Seren couldn’t handle the shock, and her body surrendered itself, simply acted as a vessel for the hellfire, which Ember controlled with ease.

Petra smirked. Exactly what Her Sovereign had planned.

Ember, blinded by fury, looked like she had lost all sense of reason as she unleashed the hellfire without restraint. The hellfire swept away all the angels nearby, killing them mercilessly. Once killed by hellfire, the soul is destroyed entirely—no next life, no reincarnation.

Due to the magical chains still on them, the extent of the hellfire’s reach was limited. Petra and Isis had planned everything perfectly.

The heavenly guards arrived the moment they were alerted.

"What’s going on?" the head guard asked Petra, then mumbled to himself in utter shock, "Hellfire?"

The entire Heaven realm had witnessed this hellfire long ago—and even now, it felt equally terrifying.

Petra acted terrified. "Her Sovereign, Goddess Isis, managed to capture the reincarnated Deity of Fire and the stolen hellfire to present before the Heavenly realm—but they got out of control and are trying to destroy the Heaven realm. The Deity of Fire is trying to fulfill her revenge. She has already killed a few angels. We have to get help from the deities. I don’t know how long those magical chains can hold them back."

The deities were already on alert from the dangerous vibrations, and the powerful ones had already sensed the presence of hellfire.

"Hellfire?" Grianor, who had been speaking to Soren about the Demon realm, was shocked to sense it. Soren hummed in agreement, and both deities quickly disappeared from their places to arrive at the scene of the incident.

On the other side, Evanthe was equally shocked by the strong vibrations.

"What is it?" Evanthe mumbled. "It doesn’t feel like it’s coming from the Demon realm."

"Ember..." Morpheus mumbled as he exhaled heavily and clutched his heart. He fell to his knees, clearly in pain.

Evanthe knelt beside him in worry. "Morph..."

"Hellfire... She’s angry... I can feel it..." he murmured, struggling to breathe. "...She’s in pain..."

"But she can’t use hellfire entirely," Evanthe said. "It’s in Seren’s body..." She stopped mid-sentence as her expression turned grave, and she quickly looked at Drayce.

Just like Morpheus, Drayce was kneeling on the ground, clutching his chest and visibly in pain as he mumbled, "Seren..."

"How is this possible?" Evanthe muttered under her breath in shock, as realization struck her.

Seren and Ember—both—were contributing to what was happening. They had become one, just to wield that hellfire.

But how and what made them act this way?
