CHAPTER 801: REMOVING THE HELLFIRE-I

Arlan and Oriana had arrived at the Celestial Throne Hall, landing atop one of the huge pillars that had a place to stand beneath a beautifully carved shade held up by four columns.

"He is the one we all have been wondering about all this time, King Drayce’s father?" Oriana whispered to Arlan.

He hummed, and she sighed. "But his arrival took away our chance to intervene."

"Just wait and watch," Arlan suggested to her. "It’s better to go when we are needed the most and help our friends. For now, there is someone stronger to protect them."

"I thought I could just go and slice Soul Reaver through that wicked woman," Oriana cursed under her breath as her hateful gaze watched Isis, all smug and powerful.

"You will be patient," Arlan tried to hold her back and wrapped his hand around her shoulder to keep her calm, so the demoness wouldn’t show and mess up everything.

At the center of the throne hall, Evanthe was stunned to hear what Drayvor said. Just like in the past, he would do anything to protect her.

Now that he was here, she decided to leave everything to him. She trusted him more than she trusted herself and her own abilities.

The Devil had his gaze fixed on Isis, his challenging words having already turned the entire hall silent. It was rare for the Lord of Darkness to challenge or threaten any deity, as his existence was bout to the oath of never using his powers against the heaven realm and any deity.

But, when he did, one shouldn’t take it lightly.

The Devil and Grianor met each other’s gazes and offered light nods, as if both were aware that this day was going to come.

Isis came back to her senses and said, "Lord of Darkness, you can’t possibly harm any deity or this Heaven Realm. I am sure you remember your oaths."

His gaze, still calm and unfazed, met hers squarely. "I am sure Deity Isis also remembers I am a beast—a divine dragon. A beast’s priorities lie first with his mate and family. That being said, the woman you are trying to harm is my soulmate, and you have already captured my son. That gives me the absolute right to destroy anything that harms them. And for their sake, I won’t hesitate to break any oath, even if that means facing mortal punishment."

As he said it, Isis’s smug expression finally changed. She knew the Lord of Darkness feared nothing. Despite being powerful, he always chose seclusion because it was a matter of his own moral code.

"Lord of Darkness, I won’t harm your people—but would you not care when I am about to destroy all three realms? Everything, everyone in existence, won’t be there anymore. And you alone will be left alive—because where you are invincible and immortal, you live in a place that belongs to none of the three worlds. How will you feel, when all of them are gone and while alone stand there?"

Drayvor calmly looked at the shining crystal hovering over her hand, which she toyed with like it was nothing of any importance. If that crystal broke, as she said, everything would cease to exist—and he couldn’t let that happen.

"Tsk!" Isis once more returned to her usual arrogant self, as she knew Drayvor’s dilemma. "You are the most powerful here, Lord of Darkness, but you can’t touch this crystal. If you do, all three realms will be filled with terrifying darkness and will be consumed by it. You can’t possibly think about snatching it away from me, right?"

Of course, he couldn’t dare touch it, as it would be the same as breaking that crystal.

"What do you want in exchange for putting that crystal back where it belongs?" Drayvor asked.

"You are the most sensible of everyone here," Isis scoffed, and then said as she looked at Seren, "You are the only one who can handle hellfire. So, you have to use your powers to remove the hellfire from that halfling’s body and give it to me. Not just give it to me, but you have to use your darkness to merge that hellfire with my divine core."

Drayvor looked at Drayce and then at Seren as his gaze settled on the magic-stopping chains on their hands. With just a light brush of his fingers in the air, those chains fell to the ground and disappeared. He did the same for Morpheus but didn’t free Ember.

Ember looked at him, wondering why he didn’t free her.

But Drayvor simply looked at her for a while and then turned to Isis. "I will remove the hellfire, and you will follow your word."

"I give you my word," she assured. "Destroying the three realms has no benefit for me. What I plan is to rule them once I become the most powerful being—just like you, Lord of Darkness."

Meanwhile, Evanthe complained to Solon in a light whisper, "A while ago, I wanted to break free from your magical hiding spell, Lord Solon. Why didn’t you let me? My kids needed me, and you..."

"I didn’t stop you," Solon replied in a low voice and looked at Grianor, who was exchanging silent gazes with Drayvor. "Lord Grianor used his powers to stop you from coming out of the hiding spell."

It shocked her. "Could he see me?"

"He is the Sovereign of the Heaven Realm. Such a magical spell can’t stop his vision from seeing through it," Solon replied.

Evanthe felt speechless and wondered why he would keep her hidden.

Solon answered her unspoken question. "Sovereign was aware that if you were to come in front of Deity Isis, the first thing she would do is harm you. And you already saw it."

Indeed, Isis did it the moment she was out of the hiding spell.

"Sovereign was trying to protect you," Solon added.

Evanthe felt speechless and wondered if they were on good terms in the past—for him to help her against his own wife.

Solon sighed, at her confused expressions. ’After this I hope you are allowed to regain your memories.’
