CHAPTER 35: A RANKED GIGANTIFICATION

Grey slowly opened his eyes to the familiar infirmary ceiling. The same one he saw the day he transmigrated.

"Guess I couldn’t keep standing at the end." His lips parted into a smirk, laughing at himself for being unable to stand tall until the end. But still, though he was not completely satisfied with himself, coming out victorious in an almost impossible fight comforted him.

Grey looked around himself, the room was just as empty as it was that day, except, Aeron was not beside him this time. On the bed next to him was Cash, bandages rapped around his torso, sleeping peacefully.

His eyes then fell on a small cuboidal box placed beside his pillow with a note. Curious, Grey sat up straight on the bed. He took the note and unfurled it.

"Congratulations on achieving an impossible feat. I’ve placed the spoils of your victory in the box!"

Grey realized this was left by the evaluating professor. He fainted right after killing the beast and couldn’t pick up the stones, so he would have picked them up for him and placed it here.

He hurriedly lifted the lid, opening the box to reveal the massive beast core and the hexagonal crimson skill stone inside.

[Skill stone: Partial Gigantification (A+)

Allows to selectively and temporarily increase the size of one of the body parts, by focusing aura to instantly inflate a specific limb such as arm, leg, hand, or even torso and other parts to monstrous proportions, granting immense destructive strength. Though it is a brief and highly taxing skill, maintaining requires intense focus and quickly drains stamina and aura.]

"Damn! This is perfectly suited for my style without a doubt. No way I’m not gonna learn this." Grey got excited seeing the perfect skill appearing from the stone. Even lady luck blessed him for his hard work.

Just then a lewd thought crossed his mind, unconsciously, his head lowered as he looked at the area between his legs. His lips twitched, trying to arch up for a lecherous grin.

But he immediately slapped himself hard, shaking his head intensely to dismiss such thoughts. "Get a grip Grey. Calm your mind...inner peace, inner peace." He released a few deep exhales as he closed his eyes.

After a few seconds, Grey opened his eyes and with a determined look, he channeled his aura which then seeped inside the skill stone. When the rune on the skill stone glowed bright, he immediately broke it into pieces within his fist.

Red strands of glowing energy flowed out of his fist, moving towards his head and seeped through the temples inside.

DING!

[Skill obtained: Partial Gigantification (A+)]

Grey smiled in satisfaction as the notification popped up in front of him.

"I remember seeing the level up notifications. Let’s check my status."

"I’m almost equal to the level 44 Shadowheart I killed. Just three more levels to reach the third realm." Grey balled his fists, his eyes shining with determination, a wide smile spread on his face.

"Seeing you smiling like that, it seems you’re doing fine now."

Grey was jolted up by the sudden voice falling on his ears. He instantly turned sideways to see Thorgar approaching with a warm and more importantly, a proud smile.

Behind him were Zarnak and two other men, one young and the other looking to be in his seventies, but the muscular physique hidden beneath his long robe was betraying his greyish hair and wrinkled skin, making it hard for Grey to guess correctly.

He activated his eyes of omniscience to check, when an intense wave of shock slapped him hard.

[Your level is too low compared to the subject]

[The subject has veiled his information and stats with an accessory]

"What the fuck was nothing could hide in front of my eyes bullshit then, if this is the response you give system!" Grey cursed inside as his brows twitched in frustration.

"Quite the amusing eyes you have young man."

Hamdal’s hoarse and heavy voice ringed inside Grey’s ears. A chill went down his spine, just his voice had such intense killing intent that beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, his body shaking unconsciously.

Grey was shocked at the fact that Hamdal had caught onto him checking his stats with his skill.

This man was far dangerous than anyone he had met till now. Though the system didn’t show him anything, he could guess Hamdal’s level to be not below 100. A true powerhouse.

But what confused him more was he had never seen nor heard about him in the game. Such powerhouse shouldn’t have been unknown at all.

"This is headmaster Hamdal, Grey. A legendary figure, a hero from the first-generation war veterans." Thorgar introduced him with shining eyes.

"I greet the headmaster." Grey immediately bowed his head politely, paying the respects that he definitely deserved.

"Hahaha! No need of such formalities young man. You have done something deemed impossible, and never been achieved by anyone in your age." Hamdal said with praise.

"Soloing a Shadowheart class in just your first year, and above that being an auxiliary C class, your talents have been put under the rug for quite a long time. This is pure blasphemy!" Hamdal’s face contorted into dissatisfaction and annoyance.

"Even the diamond needs to be cut well for it to shine. You don’t need to wait for the finals anymore. I’m promoting you to the S class this instant."

Hamdal’s words shocked all three of them along with Grey. They couldn’t believe he was breaking the rules to promote him, who has a strict policy of sticking to the rules no matter what.

But what they next heard from Grey, shocked them even more.

"I’m sorry headmaster. But if it’s possible, can I stay in the C class?"
