Chapter 181 - 177: I’ll Knife You Tonight
CHAPTER 181: CHAPTER 177: I’LL KNIFE YOU TONIGHT
"Senior, if I become your girlfriend, I will definitely take good care of you."
"When you’re tired from work, I’ll make you a cup of tea, give you a massage, and every night I’ll cook a spread of dishes and wait for you at the door."
"I’ll have hot water ready in the bathroom at night. If you like, I... I could join you for a bath... Don’t look at me like that, I’ll get shy too."
Two figures walked through the park.
The girl in the white dress was weaving fantasies, speaking of romantic times with him.
The handsome youth smiled wryly.
To be honest, his junior’s sincere attitude really made his heart skip a beat.
No wonder childhood sweethearts often lose to those who ’fall from the sky.’ There’s a reason for everything!
Fortunately, he was a devoted young man.
Suddenly, Chen Xi began counting on her fingers.
"Of course, the household finances will be managed by me."
"Hehe, don’t worry, I won’t treat you poorly. A million a month for pocket money is indeed a little low, but I’ll work hard to earn more. Our family has invested in several new projects recently..."
"Ahem, if you like it, Senior, you can praise me for being a virtuous and capable homemaker."
She tilted her head, her beautiful eyes fluttering charmingly as she gazed at Chu Yi.
What an Angel!
Chu Yi was shocked. Truly, she was the Wealthy Lady of his dreams.
Thankfully, his resolve was strong; he had nearly fallen for her charms and cheated on Lias.
"No need to say more."
Chu Yi took a deep breath, looked at the middle-aged man beside them who seemed thoroughly disgusted by the cloying sweetness of their romantic exchange, and asked curiously, "I’d like to ask, is this junior of mine also a member of the Starfire Sequence?"
The middle-aged man gave him an indifferent glance and said, "Chen Xi possesses Super Talent, just like you. It was detected upon her enrollment and is currently classified information."
Of course, he knew more: Chen Xi was of an Alien Race and a very important figure. The specific details were unknown to him, privy only to the higher-ups.
But he quite liked Chu Yi, so he offered a kind, telepathic warning, "Since you’re involved with that member of the Qin Family and have also entangled yourself with another young lady from a mysterious background, don’t mess around carelessly. Not even Dawn Star could protect you."
Chu Yi grew thoughtful.
"Alright." The middle-aged man waved his hand. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Zhang Yi, the head of the Starfire Sequence in Yaoguang City, taking over from my predecessor. It’s quite normal that you don’t know me."
"Next, I will train you according to the Federation’s procedures. You can simply call me Teacher."
"Chu Yi, you’ve slacked off for two years. Stick with me for the next few days and at least get the rules of the Sequence straight."
Chu Yi nodded. He had some experience with the Starfire Sequence’s training and knew it was entirely different from the academy. The instructors there were all experts in the field of Beast Taming, proficient in various combat techniques for Pet Beasts: Human-Pet Unity, Pet Beast Possession, Spirit Burst, physical conditioning, and more.
Though he felt these things were of little use to him personally, the most important aspect of the Sequence was the resources allocated by the Federation. These resources were so coveted that even Beast Taming Families grew greedy for them: quotas for advanced Secret Realms, rare materials, brand-new Mutated Evolution plans...
Furthermore, the Demons of the Starfire Sequence monopolized most of these resources.
"Senior, within the Sequence, you have to protect me, okay?" Chen Xi clasped her hands behind her back, leaned forward, and looked at Chu Yi, her eyes filled with an intense sweetness, completely disregarding his girlfriend.
"Chu Yi, since you possess demonic strength, you can aim for the Starfire level within the Sequence," Zhang Yi reminded him. "To cultivate the talents needed by the Federation and to allocate resources effectively, the Sequence has a strict hierarchy, divided into ’Firefly,’ ’Kindling,’ and ’Starfire.’ Higher levels can only be pursued in the Imperial Capital."
"Understood." Chu Yi nodded, his palms suddenly clammy with sweat. He asked nervously, "Teacher, I wanted to ask if the quotas for Yaoguang City are limited. If I join, does that mean someone has to be eliminated?"
"...Yes, that’s correct. However, you just killed an Evil God Beast Tamer, so no one will doubt your strength." Zhang Yi then recalled something and added, "According to the rules, it’s also feasible to challenge someone and take their place."
Chu Yi finally let out a sigh of relief, patting his chest. "Phew, that was close. I almost thought Shen Tianqi would make it out alive. That scared me to death."
"To avoid any unforeseen trouble, I’ll deal with him tonight."
Zhang Yi: "..."
Do you even hear what you’re saying?
To openly declare, in front of the Chief Instructor responsible for all the city’s Sequence geniuses, that you’re going to kill another genius—that’s a crime in the Federation! Such audacious behavior! Did he think he could do as he pleased just because he had a King’s Cub? Completely disregarding Federation law! Disregarding him, Zhang Yi?!
Zhang Yi was so agitated he felt his ears might burst. He quickly pushed the thought aside and said, "I’ll make arrangements for you tomorrow."
Upon hearing this, Chu Yi sighed gloomily.
"The mere thought of him living one more day makes my skin crawl. I lose my appetite and can’t sleep well."
Zhang Yi frowned, his expression turning serious. "Indeed, an affliction of the heart like yours should be treated quickly. I’ll arrange it for this afternoon. That’s quite fast."
Chu Yi nodded. "Indeed. For braised chicken, first, you cut the chicken into one-inch cubes. Then, you pan-fry it in warm lard for half a minute before adding bamboo shoots or shiitake mushrooms and seasonings..."
Zhang Yi also nodded. "Served with a bowl of white rice, it’s truly delicious. Shall we go out to eat some later?"
Bika chirped gleefully.
Chen Xi: "???"
What are these two talking about?
It clearly felt like they were conducting some sordid transaction, yet it was utterly bewildering, leaving one dizzy and confused.
Human culture truly is profound, the Succubus Princess decided. She would have to learn everything from her Senior, from head to toe.
Flowers bloomed in abundance and foliage was lush. However, this was a forest of death. The flourishing branches were mottled with bloodstains, and countless prey, drained of their blood, hung like desiccated skins, swaying in the wind and exuding a thick, metallic stench.
Beneath the tree trunks, blood stained the earth crimson. A blonde girl in a Gothic Lolita dress stood bathed in a sanguine light.
Numerous thorny vines, complete with claws and devouring maws, emerged from her skirt, greedily absorbing the blood.
The girl’s appearance became bloodthirsty and frenzied. A pair of bat-like wings burst from her smooth back, whipping up a crimson hurricane as a Mighty Power, surpassing that of the Gold rank, began to brew within her.
"SQUEAK!"
The Bloodthirsty Rose emitted a sound of delight. This feeding had enhanced its strength.
Most importantly, the pouch of Spirit Cores that boy had given it had refined its Spiritual essence, making it incredibly pure and enabling it to evolve towards a higher life form.
Its Cultivation speed was now dozens of times faster than before!
"So, so fast!"
Her eyelashes, tinged by the sunset’s glow, trembled slightly. A look of astonishment surfaced in her azure pupils.
She picked up the bag of Spirit Cores. Each one was no larger than a grain of rice yet contained highly pure Spiritual energy. It not only raised her Pet Beast’s level but also suppressed her other side.
