The exorcism began in America.
Chapter 134: Chaotic Streets
Chu Feng, having already reached the first floor, naturally didn't hear the four people whispering. He had only just stepped out of the building when the utter chaos on the streets stunned him. After all, the scenes he had witnessed from the plane and the top of the building were far less intense than experiencing it firsthand.
"Don't move, yellow monkey! Hand over your money now!"
Indeed, Chu Feng was being robbed the moment he stepped onto the street.
Chu Feng turned his head, a strange expression on his face. A burly Black man, adorned with five or six gold chains around his neck, was pointing a handgun at Chu Feng's head and bellowing harshly, "Damn yellow monkey, turn around immediately and give me your wallet!"
Not far away, several other Black men, who had just emerged from a shop laden with bags of all sizes, burst out laughing at the unfolding scene. "Bobby is still so useless! Wouldn't it be much faster to just kill that yellow monkey and then search him?"
The burly Black man in front of Chu Feng naturally heard his companions' mocking laughter. Seeing that Chu Feng made no move, a glint of ferocity flashed in his eyes.
BANG!
The crisp gunshot merged into the noisy tumult of the street, not seeming out of place at all. Though a gun had fired, it was the burly Black man in front of Chu Feng who collapsed. A clear bullet hole had appeared in the center of his forehead.
"FUCK, BOBBY!"
"FUCK!"
Seeing their own companion fall, the Black men nearby, who had been openly mocking just a second before, instantly wiped the smiles from their faces.
CLICK. CLICK.
Several sharp sounds of guns being chambered echoed as the Black men all raised their weapons, aimed at Chu Feng, and pulled the triggers.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
A relentless barrage of bullets showered down on Chu Feng.
The intense gunfire didn't even draw the attention of others on the street, as they seemed to have grown accustomed to it. They merely glanced up before resuming their activities. For them, it was better to spend that time thinking about where to get money next; finding a beauty to enjoy themselves with would be even better.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Sounds akin to metal striking metal rang out in front of Chu Feng. Countless bullets were blocked by a dazzling golden aura. All the assailants could see were sparks flying and bullet fragments scattering on the ground.
"Damn it, he's an Exorcist!"
"Are there Exorcists who can block bullets?"
"How would I know? I only know the Demon Lord can ignore bullets!"
"Let's go! We'll be safe once the Demon Lord finds this Exorcist!"
After a panicked discussion, the Black men decided to flee immediately, fearing for their lives. They stopped shooting and turned to run.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Behind them, Chu Feng's fingers moved lightly, and he emptied his pistol's magazine in seconds.
Watching the Black men fall, Chu Feng's indifferent gaze didn't flicker. A brand-new, fully loaded magazine instantly appeared in his hand. CLICK. After the light sound, the slide snapped back into position, chambering another gleaming brass bullet.
Gazing at the street ahead, which seemed unaffected and still mired in chaos, Chu Feng glanced down at the handgun in his hand. Next, I need to figure out how to attract the Demon to me!
The Demon went to such great lengths to create this chaos; it certainly won't stand by and watch its efforts go to waste. So, all I need to do is...
Chu Feng lifted his gaze toward the people still wreaking havoc, robbing, and committing evil on the streets. A slow smile spread across his face. "It'll be you, then."
On the somewhat dim street, devoid of sunlight, Chu Feng, handgun in hand, strode toward the nearest clothing store.
"Please, spare me!"
Inside the clothing store, a pretty salesclerk, her face drenched in tears, was pleading with a burly, heavily tattooed man. Beside her lay the still-warm bodies of the store manager and her colleague.
"Spare you? Of course. Just take off your clothes!"
The tear-streaked girl naturally understood his implication, but facing the dark muzzle of the gun, she found no courage to resist.
Her slender fingers slowly fumbled with the buttons of her uniform. One... two... three...
Just as her outer garment fell open, revealing the swell of her breasts, a KNOCK KNOCK echoed from the store's glass door.
"FUCK! Which asshole is that?" Enraged at being interrupted, the burly man snatched back the hand he was about to extend, grabbed his pistol, and turned to look.
BANG!
A searing bullet, freshly fired, instantly pierced the burly man's forehead. Crimson blood splattered, and the sole survivor in the clothing store fainted from shock.
"Sleep well. Tomorrow is a brand new day."
Lowering his arm, Chu Feng uttered these words softly before turning and walking out of the clothing store.
"Yellow monkey, what do you think you're doing?"
BANG!
"Which asshole—"
BANG!
"Don't kill me—"
BANG!
"The Demon Lord will kill you!"
BANG!
"I'll kill you!"
BANG!
The successive gunshots composed a grim symphony, gradually silencing the street.
"D-don't kill me! I used to be a good person! Really, I've never committed a crime! It was those bastards, they forced me! Please, I'm begging you!"
Chu Feng tilted his head, looking at the pot-bellied, naked man weeping and begging before his gun. He then glanced at the young girl beneath the man, now silent forever.
Then, BANG!
The pleading voice cut off abruptly.
CLICK.
A fresh, full magazine was slotted in. Chu Feng turned, wordlessly stepped over several bodies, and slowly headed to the next location. The street behind him was eerily silent, like a desolate wilderness.
"Run! A terrifying Exorcist is coming this way! He's slaughtering our people!"
"Exorcist, my ass! Grab your weapons! Let's take him on!"
At the far end of the street, inside a weapons shop, the gang leader, Tao, clad in a pitch-black leather jacket, had just heard his subordinate's panicked report. He disdainfully shoved the subordinate aside, casually grabbed a rifle, and charged out with his nearby gang members.
He failed to notice that the subordinate he had pushed down caught a glimpse of the weapon shop owner's corpse nearby. The man shuddered, then scrambled to his feet and dashed towards the store's back exit. Damn it, I'm not going to die with you idiots!
Outside the weapons shop, Tao and his group, charging out looking fierce, ran straight into Chu Feng, who had just reloaded his magazine.
"B-Boss," a skinny, tall white young man behind Tao stammered quietly, his face paling as he recognized the somewhat familiar face before them. "H-he... he looks like that First Exorcist from America!"
