CHAPTER 27: CHAPTER 27: EVIL SPIRIT OF HELL

No matter what it is, as long as it’s tagged with the word "Hell," its strength goes without saying—definitely enough to give any Exorcist who encounters it a hard time.

Unfortunately, right now, in front of Chu Feng, there indeed appeared such a freshly-baked Hell Evil Spirit.

"Enough already! Are these cultists out of their minds, or just plain bored? What’s the point of bringing this thing over?!!"

With a face like he was constipated, Chu Feng slapped his own forehead, feeling utterly helpless.

But what could Chu Feng do? After all, it was his benefactor’s son who was possessed! Since he couldn’t fight life’s cruel twists, he had no choice but to accept it!

"Alright! Stop shouting, I’ll handle it."

Chu Feng, who had the Golden Light Spell reapplied to his body, held a shotgun, his face full of impatience as he looked at the Hell Evil Spirit on the altar.

"Just you, a mere human ant? An Eastern ant at that?" The Hell Evil Spirit’s shrill tone was filled with disdain.

"Just wait, ant! The East will inevitably become our backyard eventually."

"Wait a minute, what do you mean by that?" After hearing the Evil Spirit’s words, Chu Feng’s expression suddenly turned ice-cold.

Unexpectedly, the Evil Spirit paid no attention to Chu Feng’s question, instead, it started shouting again in its extremely grating voice, "Furys, come out! Continue the ritual of descent!"

"Shut your mouth! If you’re talking about that man in the black robe, there’s no need to shout anymore! Just tell me what you meant by that."

Chu Feng pointed impatiently at the spot where the black-robed man had just died. If it weren’t for the Evil Spirit’s mention of the East, Chu Feng would have charged forward by now.

Following Chu Feng’s gesture, the Evil Spirit also saw the black-robed man’s corpse, but it showed no sign of disappointment. Instead, it continued to call out, "Furys, how much longer are you going to lie there?"

"Of course, forever..."

Before Chu Feng could finish speaking, a blood-red cockroach suddenly crawled out from the collar of the black-robed man. It quickly made its way up his pale skin and entered his mouth.

Can this thing really come back to life? Chu Feng suddenly regretted not firing a few more shots earlier.

He had intended to step forward and fire a few more rounds, but the Evil Spirit’s aura suddenly enveloped him, making him hesitate to act rashly.

"COUGH... COUGH COUGH..."

After a series of violent coughs, right before Chu Feng’s eyes, the man in the black robe actually, miraculously, came back to life!

"Great Evil God, you have truly descended!" The moment the black-robed man regained consciousness, he lifted his head and saw a human and an Evil Spirit looking at him. Ignoring Chu Feng, who was nearby, he turned to the Evil Spirit on the altar with a face full of joy and bowed in worship.

"Enough, Furys! The descent ritual isn’t complete; you must continue it immediately." After growling these instructions at the black-robed man named Furys, the Evil Spirit possessing the blond-haired boy lay back down on the altar, waiting for the ritual to continue.

"As you wish, Great Evil God! Wait... wait a second!" The black-robed man, who was bowing reverently in response to the Evil Spirit, suddenly froze in place.

"Who... who did this?" Looking at the Array on the ground, which had been completely destroyed, the black-robed man shouted in anger.

"Sorry, that was my doing too!"

Feeling that the Evil Spirit’s presence was no longer lingering around him as it focused on continuing the ritual, Chu Feng instantly aimed his shotgun at the black-robed man.

"BANG! BANG! BANG..."

After more than a dozen gunshots rang out, the black-robed man, caught unprepared due to the Evil Spirit’s presence, was definitely beyond any chance of resurrection this time. His body had been shattered into countless pieces.

Looking at the mere remnants of the black-robed man, Chu Feng actually felt a strange urge to thank the Evil Spirit for its contempt. After all, if he had been in the Evil Spirit’s position, the ant before him would have been thoroughly crushed long ago.

"You damned ant!"

Atop the altar, the Evil Spirit’s body instantaneously took flight, emitting a deafening sonic boom from its mouth. Its skinny frame appeared behind Chu Feng in the blink of an eye. Chu Feng, with his Passive Spatial Perception, had anticipated this. However, he harbored no illusions about dodging the Evil Spirit’s attack. His body tensed, hoping only that the Golden Light Spell could withstand this onslaught so he could seize the opportunity to mount a defensive counterattack.

Meanwhile, the blond boy’s smoke-stained hands were already resting on Chu Feng’s temples. All it would take was a slight exertion of force, and the ant before him would have its neck instantly twisted and snapped.

But as the Evil Spirit made its move, the expected outcome didn’t occur. Chu Feng’s head remained as immovable as if it were cast from iron.

Hmm? Such little strength? Sensing something was wrong, Chu Feng’s mind raced. In a flash, a thought struck him.

The ritual apparently hasn’t been completed yet, meaning this Evil Spirit probably only has a façade of power!

Chu Feng obviously wouldn’t let this chance slip away.

"Now, it’s my turn!"

He grabbed the Evil Spirit’s pitch-black right hand and, with a fierce yank, slammed the ferocious-visaged Evil Spirit to the ground in front of him.

As the Demon-breaking Fist skill icon flickered in the system panel, Chu Feng, fist already raised, had a simple goal: punch the Evil Spirit out of the boy’s body, and then thoroughly deal with this unwelcome guest from Hell.

Unexpectedly, before he could swing his fist, the scene before Chu Feng’s eyes suddenly transformed into a gigantic vault filled with mountains of gold and treasure.

A voice in his head incessantly whispered, "Chu Feng, this is your vault. Go forth, claim it for yourself!"

Fortunately, Chu Feng’s spiritual power had long since far surpassed that of ordinary people; otherwise, his soul would have become mired in this false illusion, and his body would have fallen under the Evil Spirit’s control.

With Chu Feng’s spiritual power, which was many times greater than others, the Evil Spirit could only cause the scene before his eyes to waver between reality and illusion; it could do no more!

"You dog from Hell! Even though you’ve discovered my weakness, with your current ability, you’re still far from capable of making me succumb to illusions!"

Ignoring the enticing vault within the Illusionary Realm, Chu Feng struggled to raise his fist, ready to smash it down on the Evil Spirit before him.

"You damned ant!" Seeing that its attack wasn’t an instant kill, the Evil Spirit went all-in, utilizing all of its Soul Power to intensify the illusion in Chu Feng’s mind.

Chu Feng’s Spirit suddenly reeled under tremendous pressure. A warm stream of blood instantly flowed from his nostrils. Just as his mouth filled with blood, unbeknownst to him...

In the system panel, a skill icon that Chu Feng had long forgotten suddenly lit up.

Eye of Truth (Passive): When the host is unable to resist illusions with their own spiritual power, this skill is automatically activated to erase the invasive foreign power from the host’s mind.

PS: The consumption of Spiritual Energy Value is proportional to the size and intensity of the invasive foreign power in the host’s mind.

As an immense power instantly swept through Chu Feng’s mind, all strength that did not belong to him was ground into dust.

With his Spirit suddenly at ease, Chu Feng abruptly opened his bloodshot eyes. Reflected in them was an Evil Spirit, limp and immobile on the ground.

Slowly raising his right hand to his nose, he casually wiped away the twin crimson streaks. Then, sensing that less than one-tenth of his Spiritual Power remained within him, an unprecedented killing intent flared in Chu Feng’s already icy gaze.
