CHAPTER 167: WAR AGAINST ODEN PART TWO
"To think the illusion would actually bait them out," Fey said.
"I told you my spell would work," Raze said with a grin, then looked toward the town. "Alright, let’s head to Oden. It’s time we take down the viscount." Raze said. He got back on his horse and rode toward the town with Fey riding behind.
Inside the town, the scouts that had watched the entire scene unfold rushed toward the viscount’s manor, while the small town guards that remained inside the town moved to block Raze and Fey.
Raze made it to the gates that had been shut to them. He got off from the horse as well as Fey and walked to the gates.
"Your viscount is now a criminal under the Vermilion law. If you stand by him, you’ll suffer a fate worse than what those knights suffered," Raze said from outside the gates, but there was no response.
"Tsk, seems they prefer the hard way," Raze said before pulling out his bat. He placed it on the gates of the town, and without a pause, he cast a flame spell so explosive it instantly ripped through the gates in a massive explosion. The entire wall shook as the gates burned up in an instant, and from the flames walked Raze and Fey swaggering in like Yakuza members sent to collect street tax.
Raze had on his full grin, one that would instantly send shivers down the spine of anyone that looked at him, while Fey had a look of superiority, like the guards behind the gates were nothing to him.
Immediately the guards saw the two of them, they charged forward, rushing with their swords pulled, but they were only twenty of them in total, not even relatively close to being an issue for Raze.
With one swing of his bat, a massive flame section shot out, slamming into the men in the front and knocking them back, with flame burning into their chests.
He rushed forward at the rest, unleashing a full beating on them without holding back even one bit. What followed was the sound of broken bones and the cries of grown men.
But Raze was cautious, he made sure he didn’t kill anyone, ensuring that they only suffered heavy wounds. With all the guards down, Raze and Fey had a clear sight to the manor.
The townspeople watched in confusion and shock as they saw the two walk down the streets of the town. Adventurers, townsmen, everyone watched, wondering what was really going on. They had thought they were getting attacked, only for them to see two kids walking down the street like they owned it.
"See? This is better. Now no one from the town gets hurt in the process of war," Raze said.
"Casualties are common in war, can’t be escaped," Fey stated.
"Well, you can control it, and all these people are my potential labor when all of this is done. I don’t want to end up spoiling their thoughts about me," Raze said.
After walking for a while, they finally made it to the manor. They stood outside the gates, and standing right in front of the gates was a figure in full armour, a man with low-cut blonde hair, deep blue eyes, and a heavy scar across his face. He gripped a long heavy sword stabbed into the ground, his palms resting on the pommel as he looked at the two boys standing before him.
His calm and expressionless face shifted into one of confusion. "Are these the enemies I was sent to stand against? Did the viscount really call on me for kids?" the man asked in shock.
[...]
On the other side of Oden, the remaining half of the army of Oden made their move towards the forest to try and sneak up on Ribest and take them down.
They got into the forest and moved uniformly through the trees, but what they didn’t know was about the three figures hanging in the trees above them: Raze, Ella, and Seraph.
"I told you they would come this way, didn’t I?" Raze said to Seraph.
"You were right. They are extremely predictable. So what do we do now? Attack?" she asked.
"Not yet, after our men attack first," he said, and then looked in one direction where his eyes met with Robert, who was standing there. The moment Ribest saw their eyes contact, he massed the information, and immediately a barrage of arrows flew into the air headed for the unsuspecting army.
Before they could even attempt to block or dodge, the arrows penetrated their armour, taking down many of them instantly, while some were injured and a few escaped.
"Alright, now Seraph and Ella," Raze said, and then all three of them let go of the trees, coming down right at the center of the men.
"Happy to see me?" Raze asked before swinging a bat right into the face of one of the knights, shattering his nose and jaw in an instant, splattering blood all around.
Seraph didn’t hesitate as she came down. She summoned her sword, a longsword made of beautiful black metal with seamless runes running through it. She moved and it was like she was a flash. In an instant, more than five hands of knights were already severed and flying in the air. She turned mid-movement, her eyes flashing with pure and sharp brutality as she thrust into another knight’s shoulder and ripped her sword through.
Ella stopped in place, unleashing spell after spell, landing on the enemy with accuracy. She didn’t even bother casting and used spellless casting.
In less than five minutes, they had taken down all the knights, shattering their bones, ripping their hands away, and hitting them with different spells.
"That was a pretty nice workout," Raze said as he swung his bat into the head of the last knight beneath his feet and knocked him out.
"That went pretty smoothly," Ella said.
"Yup, now let’s hope me and Fey are doing a good job over there as well."
