CHAPTER 409: YEAH, JEALOUS INDEED

The weather was nice and the day was just right. Sunny.

It was the perfect day to hit the beach.

Alice took in a deep breath and exhaled, holding on to the hat on her head so it wouldn’t fly off, and then she let out a very hearty and loud laugh.

"Muhahaha, this is what I’m talking about." She yelled and made sure the entire beach felt her presence.

"You sound like a villain," Diane exclaimed, and Alice shot her gaze at her.

"You..." But she let out the steam in her chest and then grinned widely. "You’re just sulking because things didn’t go according to what you wanted."

"Ugh," Diane rolled her eyes. "Just why would you try to cover that up? You’d look great without that excessive fabric. This is the beach." She pointed out, and Alice placed her hands on her waist.

She was wearing the red bikini, alright. But she couldn’t have some young guys falling for her after seeing her body, so she had a shawl around her waist and customized her jacket into a nearly transparent and light material one.

It was such a handy item that she wouldn’t give it up for anything. She could lend it out, though. Just like she did with Damian that one time.

Anyway, she wasn’t exposing too much and wasn’t covering too much either. She just looked the part.

"Hey, you say this, but you’re wearing far more fabric than I am." Alice pointed out, but Diane threw her gaze aside.

"Hmph! Unlike someone, I have a boyfriend. And as much as I’d like to show more skin, he is a rather jealous type and won’t appreciate other guys staring at his girlfriend too much." She explained, but it only made Alice roll her eyes as she said.

"Yeah, jealous indeed. That’s why he decided to tag along." She looked at Samson around back, helping the others set up their umbrellas, mats, and chairs. They were even setting up a barbecue stand, and that was where Alice’s mind traveled to most.

Barbecue on the beach. How nice. She could already feel her mouth watering up.

"Hey, focus." Diane snapped her fingers in front of her face. "You better be thinking of boys and not food right now."

"And why would I be thinking of boys?" Alice asked, pushing her hand away from her face, but then she heard a response whispered into her ear.

"Because they’re everywhere on the beach," she turned her eyes and found Michael, his head leaning on her shoulder.

"I’m starting to get used to this." Alice said, but she could not hide the little shock she got from his sudden presence.

"As you should." Michael said. "You look good, Alice. Less clothing suits you."

"I don’t know if I should say thank you or move two steps back because that freaked me out." Alice said, but Michael chuckled and said,

"Please, stay. If you try to run, it’ll only draw me closer to you." He said with the most delirious tone, and it got Diane clearing her throat.

She didn’t know whether to call this creep insane or delusional. The way he was acting... She glanced at their position, how he rested his head with his mask on, on Alice’s shoulder, and had one arm around her waist, but she wasn’t saying anything about that... Were they in some kind of situationship?

She wondered.

She knew Alice wasn’t the type to do relationships, and they didn’t look like they were ’just friends’ either, so it was definitely something in between.

’Alice, you’re so sly.’ Diane thought, her lips itching up in a smirk. ’I finally see why you don’t need to be in a relationship. I mean, with so many handsome men around you, why tie yourself down to one, right?’ she laughed.

She never imagined Alice was that type, but if that was what she wanted from the start, she should’ve said something.

’Well, I’m not exactly the most trustworthy in the bunch.’ Diane said, roaming her fingers through her hair. ’But at least she’s still capable of liking someone.’

"Ooh, I’m so excited." Maki squealed while holding on to Steph, who felt a bit awkward.

They wore what Diane had picked out for them, but was it okay? They were nearly fully exposed.

They looked around. Others were wearing similar things but...

"If you’re awkward, you could always add a shawl." Clarissa suggested, and they turned around to find her in a blue-white strapped biking with a nearly transparent white shawl tied around her waist. "You’ll still feel a bit exposed, but it’s better than nothing."

"Clarissa," they rushed towards her with teary eyes. "We love you."

Seeing their creepy attitude, Clarissa took a step back and then dashed away. They looked like they were going to maul her to the ground with familiar kisses, and she definitely didn’t want that.

After all that fiasco, they had gotten closer.

"Clarissa, don’t run." Steph yelled as they ran after Clarissa, but she would be crazy to stop running at that point.

"Everyone s-seems to b-be having fun." Nicholas exclaimed over his stutter, and Lance looked at what he had in his hand.

"Oh, you plan to draw?" He asked, and Nicholas nodded. "Hehe," Lance quickly flexed his muscles.

He was shirtless with only his swim trunks on.

As he flexed his muscles, every muscle fibre and vein became more pronounced.

"Make sure to capture my brilliance, okay?" He asked, and the ladies on the beach cheered from the side.

This only got Nicholas and Damian demoralized as they looked down at their flat chest being covered by the shirt they were wearing. They didn’t even have muscles to flex.

’I wish I had those.’ Nicholas thought, but then Damian patted his back and gave him a thumbs-up.

"We just need to keep working hard." He said, and Nicholas laughed.

"Y-yes."

The day at the beach was fun and exciting. It allowed them to breathe some fresh and new air into their lungs.

Alice didn’t know how the word got out, but they had more people joining them. Noah, from God knows where, just happened to hear from a little birdie that something was going on at the beach.

’And he’s supposed to be the leader of the agency. He’s so lazy.’ Alice thought, clicking her tongue and shaking her head.

Devon arrived as well, after taking care of several messes. But he had to leave early as well since he was such a busy guild leader.

Miss Stella, though she got the word from Alice, also arrived, flexing her feminity and those big boobs of hers.

She had all eyes on her.

But it wasn’t that she was carelessly dressed. She was also fully clothed, in fact. She just had that charm of a woman that people couldn’t seem to resist, even the ladies.

Philip came as well. Said something about Miss Stella dragging him along, but soon enough, they weren’t sure anymore whether he had actually been dragged or if he had begged to come along because of his active participation in the games they were playing.

It was the first time he had smiled so much without worrying about anything, anyone’s approval or disapproval.

It was fun.

And at the end of the day, with the sun slowly setting, Alice decided to stroll down the wet sands of the beach, where the water moved with the tides and touched their
