The Fate Of The World Is In My Hands, But All I Want To Do Is Eat!
Chapter 417: Hey, I told you to give it back
CHAPTER 417: HEY, I TOLD YOU TO GIVE IT BACK
"Tell me," Alice’s voice was low but cold, sending terror to their hearts. "Why is this person here?"
Her aura raged as her emotions were unstable.
"Don’t ask me stupid questions and give it back. It’s none of your business." Philip stubbornly said and took a step towards her.
"None of my business?" Her face contorted as she yelled at him. "How is this none of my business?! This person... This person..." Her hands trembled, looking at the picture once more.
Even she didn’t have a picture of her anymore. But how could she forget this face?
How could she forget the woman who pushed her aside to save her from the monsters that had suddenly appeared and got swallowed whole in her place?
How could she... Forget the face of her mother?
From her hand to her entire body, she trembled.
The others were as confused as Philip. Alice had suddenly gone crazy, it looked. But it wasn’t something as simple as that.
Something was definitely wrong.
Then, she took in a deep breath with her eyes closed.
"Philip, I’ll ask you one more time. Who is this person to you?"
"I said it’s none of your business!" Philip yelled at her. He was equally angry, his body trembling and blood rolling down the corner of his lips.
He still had internal injuries that needed to be healed but this locket seemed so important to him that he disregarded getting treatment to get it back from her.
"I don’t care what you’re on about," Philip said, the ring in both his fingers transforming into two daggers and he took a stance. "But I will do whatever I can to get it back from you. Even if I have to put my life on the line."
The situation had turned beyond serious and no one knew what was going on.
Was a fight going to break out?
"Alice," Leo called.
They couldn’t fight there. Though they were on a secret path that the rest of the people in the facility didn’t take, if they started a fight, they would definitely attract attention and that wasn’t good.
"What’s wrong?" He asked her, stepping closer but then she suddenly made a weird demand.
"Leo, hit me." She said and his eyebrows furrowed.
"What?"
"I said hit me." She said. She felt she was dreaming. And the only way to wake up was to get hit.
"Hey, hold on. What’s going on?" Diane asked. She could not stand at the side any longer. It was starting to take a turn that she couldn’t understand.
"Alice, is there something wrong?"
They were worried for her. And were even more worried when it looked like Philip was seriously going to put his life on the line to get the locket back from her.
Leo took a moment to understand what she was thinking but she wasn’t thinking at all. He tried to read her thoughts but there was nothing. It was as if she had gone blank, and only the anger she had on the surface was present.
Why was that?
What was in the locket that she had lost her mind to this point?
He wanted to take a look but she closed her eyes and shut the locket, squeezing it tight as if she was planning to crush it and that hot Philip mad.
"Hey, I told you to give it back!" He yelled and wanted to charge at her when she began to speak, more calmly and softly this time.
"Brown wavy hair," She said and he paused, his feet dragging on the floor. "Gentle brown eyes with a tiny mole right next to her right eye." Philip’s eyes widened, and she closed her eyes, biting her lip as she reminisced on the image of her mother, her hand beginning to tremble once more. "A gentle personality, sweet and kind. A pretty dimple each time she smiled softly and a loving voice."
She ended the description and stayed silent.
"What is this?" Philip asked. "Why do you know the description so well just after seeing the picture? It... It doesn’t even have all her features there. The mole next to her right eye doesn’t show. So how...?" He was confused.
So confused that he began to tremble. Why did Alice know that description?
He was so young back then so he didn’t know all of that. It was his aunt that explained his mother’s features clearly.
All he could remember were just faint memories of her smiling warmly at him. If not for the picture he always carried about, he might’ve already forgotten what she looked like, but for Alice... She remembered them so vividly.
"You... how do you know my mother?" He asked, his daggers falling from his hands in disbelief and Alice’s eyes shot open.
Ah, why had she guessed it? Hearing it from him confirmed what she had in her mind, and it made her crazy. Why? Just why did it have to be so?
No, the question she was to ask more was how?
How was it that her mother was his mother?
It didn’t make sense.
"It’s the same question I would like to ask." She said, biting her bottom lip so hard that she almost dug her teeth into it. "Philip, is this really your mother?"
"Of course, she’s my mother. Don’t ask such stupid questions. That... That’s my mother." He said, his body trembling.
He was angry and upset. How dare she ask him that. How dare she, as if he didn’t know his own mother anymore.
"So, it was you, after all." Alice suddenly said, her legs giving out, but she only staggered back, and Leo caught her. "It was..."
She remembered the dream she had, a memory from her past life.
The brother who wanted recognition so bad that he even put his life on the line. The brother who died in her arms.
She was so angry right at this point but it was nothing compared to the sadness she was feeling in her heart.
The one she called brother was someone with brown hair and a strong will for recognition. He looked stubborn too.
At that time, she had glossed over it, but after realizing that he might be the one, her heart began to ache. She started to feel it twist in pain as the feeling of losing him overwhelmed her.
Were they that close? She had no idea. She did not see anything else, but given she had cried for him and she was feeling such pain, they might’ve gotten close at some point.
And the one he was so hell-bent on getting recognition from was none other than Adolf. Adolf who died earlier than them.
"But I don’t understand."
Yeah, neither of them understood what was going on.
"Why is my mother your mother as well?" She asked.
"What?!" They heard Miss Stella’s voice from the entrance and all turned to find her staring in disbelief. "Alice, what... What did you just say?"
