CHAPTER 426: IF ANYONE WANTS THE RIGHT TO BROADCAST...
The news channels all had Alice’s broadcast and people were even more intrigued as to her original identity.
This was not the first time she was appearing on the news but she had become such a hot topic all over the world that her identity was so sought out.
If this was a prerecorded broadcast, so many people would’ve doubted the extent of her ability and accused the reporters of having fabricated so many things but it wasn’t prerecorded.
It was being shot live from where the action was going on. Alice was hunting nonstop at an incredible speed and with power that no one could fantom.
Even the strongest in the world wouldn’t be able to do that.
However, the helicopter couldn’t go with her into the red gates, and the reporters couldn’t even take the risk of going in with her because of how dangerous the red gates were, but they watched, keeping the camera rolling on the entrance of the gate till Alice walked out unscathed.
So many news outlets were trying to cover this just to make money but since they were starting to get too much, Alice began to get annoyed.
Some even wanted to try and get a word from her.
So, Alice faced the camera with a menacing glare and said,
"I’m not doing this for the publicity, but if you dumbasses are going to continue trying to get in my way and interrupt me from finishing the monsters on time, then I’ll feed you to them. Don’t. Get. In. My. Way. Just one reporter is enough if you must."
They were only there for their own gain. It was pathetic and insulting to her who was putting in all the effort.
While Alice’s words seemed to be something that could spark controversies and backlash towards her, the masses actually took her side.
She was risking her life to fight the monsters yet the reporters wanted to use her to get famous and were interrupting her work. As she said, only one reporter was enough.
And as such, the reporters and news outlets began to fight for the monopoly of Alice’s subjugation videos.
This was when Miss Stella stepped up.
Adolf was currently busy with a subjugation that the public was not aware of, so he couldn’t make a public appearance and help Alice.
He was simply following her words to get stronger.
"If anyone wants the right to broadcast Alice’s subjugation then pay up." She said. "She’s fighting for mankind for free, so if you’re planning to earn money from her efforts then you should be prepared to pay for it. Now, who has an acceptable offer?"
This was how Alice was able to make a fortune without even knowing.
Alice picked her ear and exclaimed.
"My ear feels itchy for some reason."
"You’re just overthinking it."
After Alice had taken care of the monsters on the coast of Canada and had cleared the dungeons, keeping all the loot in her ring, she noticed some freshly spawned red gates.
The fish had bitten the bait after all.
She wished to come in contact with a demon. While she could not take revenge on the monster who swallowed her mom and could only let out her anger towards the vicious monsters who threatened humans, she could take her anger out on the demons who were behind all of this.
She didn’t know if she was ready to take on an arch demon but she hoped to face them at least once.
Unfortunately, she never came across one.
She was in full health and filled with vigor, but still, she could not find a single demon. It was very infuriating.
"So, they’re hiding now that I plan to face them? They’re cowards." Alice said with a spiteful tongue.
Leo watched her. He also wondered why they did not come across a demon one. Not even a low-level demon like the administrator of the calamity gate.
It was indeed as if they were hiding.
After approaching Devon that time, and also carrying out all sorts of schemes, they should be actively waiting for the chance to meet her in a gate. So what was this?
"Well, we’re done here," Alice said, getting up as she stretched her arms.
She had waited a while but there were no more spawning gates.
How many had it been? Hm, she forgot to count.
"I’m glad you’re at ease now." Leo said, also getting up. "Shall we get going now? You must miss your bed."
"Yeah, I do but..." She twisted her lips a bit. "I’m not satisfied." She said. "I’m going to England."
"To do what there?" Leo asked, unsettled.
"What else?" She dropped her hands on her waist, grinning. "I’m going to take care of the gates there. If I don’t find a demon in a place that’s so infested like this, then I should probably find one in other country gates, right?"
"And if you don’t find any demon there, what will you do?"
"Come on, Leo. Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m planning." Alice said, her grin widening and Leo palmed her face.
Yes, she was the savior of mankind, but was she seriously planning to take care of all the gates?
"Since school’s out, I didn’t have anything to do anyway. And I didn’t realize it before but..." She smiled. "Hunting monsters feel nice. I can go all out and I don’t get tired easily. If I keep growing like this, I should be able to face the second calamity, right?"
"Yeah, you should." Leo said and took a look at her stats.
Alice had spent three months hunting monsters and had grown exponentially. Her stats shot up and were already at 2000 each, which was her lowest.
The items and rewards she got from clearing serval dungeons had helped her a lot. She also had several skill sets and yet she wasn’t even using either of them.
The skills kept growing well without her using them and they were all at least ’S’ level. She was a walking destruction if not tamed.
’With this, she should be able to take care of even a low-ranking Archdemon.’ He thought. ’And if it’s not enough, if she activates the plant around her heart and doubles her stats, she should be able to take on a high-ranking Archdemon that is on the level of the second calamity.’
It was all well planned out. If things kept going like this then she would definitely save the world.
This was why he did not restrict Alice and allowed her to grow even at the expense of her exhausting herself a lot.
"Brr, it’s getting cold." Alice mentioned, rubbing her sleeveless arms. "Is winter coming already?"
"Yeah, winter is already around the corner." Leo added, looking up at the dark gloomy sky.
This meant her birthday was coming as well.
Though there was still a year left for the second calamity to approach as it was in the previous life, he couldn’t be so sure since a lot of things had changed.
The demons might release the second calamity earlier and so, in preparation for that, Alice needed to be ready for anything.
