The Fate Of The World Is In My Hands, But All I Want To Do Is Eat!
Chapter 435: Cleared garey
CHAPTER 435: CLEARED GAREY
Alice flew as fast as she could till she got to Carolina.
She stood at the top of a building, looking around and the people who were around stared at her, wondering what she was doing.
"Hm, that’s weird. I don’t see any rock monsters." She said.
"Hey, are you Alice?" A little boy, looking like someone who was in middle school, asked, and she nodded.
She wasn’t standing on a tall building so she was close to the ground.
"Yeah, I am." She said and then flew down.
She stood in front of him and others started taking pictures, but not daring to go closer for fear of angering her.
"Wow, you’re so cool." He said and Alice’s nose shot towards the air in pride.
"Huhuhu, I guess I am." She said.
"But what are you doing here?" The boy asked.
"What? I’m here to kill the rock monsters but it’s quite strange, I don’t see any." She said.
"That’s because it’s happening in East Carolina." He said. "This is West Carolina."
So, as it turned out, Alice had taken the wrong stop and instead of stopping at West Carolina, she landed in the East.
She palmed her face and then patted his head.
"Thanks, kid. I think I gotta leave right now." She said and he smiled.
"Yeah, but before that, can I have your autograph?" He asked, stretching his backpack towards her. "I know it’s not the time but..."
"It’s fine. I’ll take it as payment for you giving me the right direction." She said, taking out a pen from nowhere, and drew her name on his backpack. "Now, if you could just point in the direction of West for me."
"Idiot, West is West." Leo said, standing beside her.
"That’s the point. I don’t know where West is." Alice said and he rolled his eyes. "You could’ve said I was in the wrong direction sooner."
"I was absent-minded." He said, and an irk formed on her face, but she sighed, letting out her frustration, and turned to the boy.
"We’ll leave now. Thanks a bunch, kid."
With that, she took to the air, dragging Leo by the collar.
"Tell me the right direction this time."
"Fine, just let go." Leo said and then he went ahead, allowing her to catch up with him till they got close to the rumbling zone where the golems were destroying whatever they could get their hands on.
The awakeneds were falling like flies.
Of the four golems that made their way out through the gate, only one had fallen after all that fight, and the way they were able to destroy it was through the mages firing continuous meteor showers on it and fireballs.
They had completely exhausted their mana and were receiving healing but even the healing wasn’t consistent because of the tumors here and there.
If the awakeneds let their guard down for even a second, they would all be wiped out.
Someone with chain abilities tied their legs together to prevent them from moving, but even immobilizing them was not working out well because of their laser beams.
"Jeez, what a mess." Alice exclaimed, scratching the back of her head. "Is it just that three?"
"If you get rid of those three, you’ll have to take care of the ones in the dungeon as well," Leo explained to her.
"Well, it’s fine." Alice said, stretching her arm, and then grinned. "I’m going to smash those block heads and end this in one go."
Before Leo could say anything about that, she charged in and he shook his head, palming his face.
She could’ve at least let him tell her a plan that would help the awakeneds take care of the rest while she entered the dungeon.
But no~ Fist first.
He went after her so she wouldn’t be too far from him and watched as she aimed for the red orb in one of the golem’s heads.
She gripped her fist right, arcing her elbows as she prepared to punch it with a tenth of her strength.
Her fist punched into the orb, shattering it into pieces and rendering the golem out of commission, and it shattered like regular rocks to the ground.
"You guys look like you need a hand," Alice said, standing atop the shattered rocks and they all looked at her like she was their ray of hope.
Alice shot her nose in the air with pride.
’That line was so cool right now, wasn’t it? I was cool.’ she thought, her face sparkling but Leo only stared with a bland gaze.
*Grow up.*
’Pft, you grow up.’ she retorted. "Anyway, I’ll take care of things here. You guys take cover. Let the wounded get treatment right away and prepare for any unexpected variable."
By an unexpected variable, she meant the possible appearance of another gate.
Since she was there, the demons might decide to act funny.
So, she decided to quickly take care of things in the dungeon. But before that...
"Where are the fire and water mages?" Leo asked.
"I... I’m a water mage." Someone stepped forward and another also stepped forward.
"Okay, to take care of the golems, you need to do this."
He had the fire mage burn a rock for a while and then asked the water mage to cool it.
As soon as he did that, the rock shattered, shocking them.
"If you shatter them like that, you just need to get someone to piece through the orb." He explained. "It’s a very easy and convenient way to get rid of the golems. If you can’t burn its entire body, you can start with the feet and hinder its movements."
Their eyes sparkled. To think there was such a simple solution. How had they not thought of that?
"I’ll leave this one." Alice said, pointing at the last golem standing. "I might not be able to make it next time because of some type of emergency but if you really wish to learn and protect your country, then I’m sure this will help you. Use this chance wisely."
After saying that, she charged into the gate with Leo and there, they found tons of golems on standby, including lava golems and dirt golems.
"Oh my," she exclaimed, taking out her hammer. "It seems I’m going to have tons of fun this time." She tittered. "Let’s hit the rocks till we break out a treasure, shall we?"
Alice flew as fast as she could till she got to Carolina.
