Chapter 63: Cold Night
CHAPTER 63: COLD NIGHT
"Why don’t we just talk to Professor Helda about it?" Hanna suggested, sensing Anna’s inner turmoil.
Anna looked at her with a deep frown as she spoke.
"I don’t think we should... after all, isn’t she the one who organised this party?"
Hanna considered it for a few moments, then frowned and looked at White, waiting for his opinion.
"I have the same opinion as Miss Anieal," White said as he looked at Hanna and turned towards Anna.
"But... is there anything we can do other than that? After all, we can’t contact anyone from here," White continued with a thoughtful look.
His words made both of their fowen deeper as they began to think of a way on their own.
"I still feel like talking to Professor Helda about it," Hanna said as she looked at Anna.
’Why is she so insistent on talking to Melanira about this? Or am I just being paranoid due to the vision?’ Anna thought as she looked at Hanna.
"Anna, we must save everyone, and we can’t do that without her help..." Hanna continued in a grave tone.
That was true after all the others wouldn’t just accept whatever she says... they’ll call her insane instead.
Anna thought about it for a few moments and finally nodded her head.
"We should talk to her about it then," Anna said and turned towards White.
"What about you, White?"
White looked at her as he spoke.
"One should be somewhere here. I’ll find him." White said as he began to walk towards the door.
"One, huh... then things are not as bad as I thought," Anna said as a relieved sigh left her lips.
White turned his head at her and nodded as he exited the room.
’I have to contact One somehow; I should capture one of the Midnighters; they must have a way.’ White thought as he walked through the hallway, his fast and soft steps.
White stealthily made his way to the employee quarters within the hotel. He made sure not to get caught. A few moments passed, and White finally reached the employee quarter where waiters were chatting with each other and other employees were doing their work. White looked all around the area to find a way to enter, but he couldn’t see any.
White stealthily came out of the floor and walked towards the window of the employee quarters. He leaned back at the window as he looked inside, after making sure that no one was near the window.
White took out a knife and began to cut the glass. The knife’s runic engravings began to glow dimly as it cut the glass like butter.
After making a hole of appropriate size, White jumped inside and crouched behind the storage shelf. His heart was pounding with tension, with a hint of excitement.
’Hah... that was much easier than I thought.’ White thought as his lips involuntarily turned into a grin.
"Now the next part..." White mumbled to himself, and just then someone placed a hand on his shoulder and shut his mouth with another.

Anna and Hanna stood in front of Melanira’s room as they resolved themselves.
Hanna looked at Anna, and Anna nodded at her.
Hanna stepped towards the door and knocked on it a few times.
"Come in." Melanira’s gentle voice came from the other side, allowing them entry.
They walked inside with forced smiles on their face.
"Student Anieal? Hanna? Is something wrong?" Melanira questioned with a raised eyebrow.
Hanna looked at her as she nodded.
"Yes, professor," Hanna said and turned to look at Anna. Melanira followed her, and she too looked at Anna.
Anna raised her head as she spoke with a solemn look.
"The party is too weird, Professor."
"Weird?" Melanira asked with a puzzled look on her face.
"There is no signal, which means we can’t contact anyone, but no one seems to care... which doesn’t make sense, and then there are those guards who don’t even let us move the floor," Anna explained as she took a pause and continued. "It’s weird no matter how you look at it."
"When you say it like that..." Melanira had a deep frown as she focused on Anna’s reasoning.
Soon, she stood up from her seat, looked towards Hanna and spoke.
"Hanna, gather all the students in the hall. I need all of them in one place if I’m going to stop the party." Melanira said as she walked towards the door.
"Yes, professor," Hanna replied with a small nod.
Just as Melanira was about to leave, Anna called out.
"Professor Helda, what should I do?" Anna questioned.
"Hmm... Check if there’s any student outside." Melanira rubbed her chin for a few moments in thought and replied.
Anna nodded at her, and Helda walked out of the room.
Hanna turned towards Anna as she spoke.
"I should go too," Hanna said with a smile as she left the room.
Anna reciprocated her smile and nodded. Anna stood within Melanira’s room for a few moments before heaving a heavy sigh as she walked out.
Anna walked through the hallway and soon reached the outer garden where she had met her friends, but right now it was empty. Anna looked all around the garden as she made sure not to miss anyone. She turned around and walked back inside.
As she stepped inside, she began to think about the side effects of her trait... Her trait was very strong... it allowed her to control fate after all... but it will use her emotions as a cost.
Her steps echoed within the hallway of the hotel. Suddenly, her heart began to feel cold as an ominous feeling blossomed; she gripped her heart as she thought.
"N-not now." Anna gasped as she nearly fell on her knees.
Suddenly, the hair behind her back stood up as the air shifted due to the heavy amount of star essence moving towards a single point.
"What’s going on?" Anna mumbled with quivering lips.
