The Fatebound Monarch
Chapter 90: Oh The Darkness!
CHAPTER 90: OH THE DARKNESS!
Hanna had her eyes closed, and suddenly she felt something fall on her face - something hot and sticky - she rubbed her palm on her face, after slowly opening her eyes, she looked at her hand, it was painted dark green.
She lifted her head and looked before her. Neo was swinging his sword at the merkins, but his fatigue had finally caught up to him. He swayed left and right as the claws of the merkins scarred at his body and left gashes from which blood was pouring out.
Her expression turned grim after seeing the condition of Neo, who was limping from his left leg, his right arm had burn marks, and his body was covered in wounds.
Hanna bit her lips and forced herself not to fall due to fatigue; she gritted her teeth as she forced herself to stand.
She breathed heavily as she stepped towards Neo, and her eyes began to glow bright green. She joined her palms as petals began to appear on them, and she blew at them; the petals flew towards Neo.
A merkin had noticed the petals and tried to stop them, but they went through its body and reached Neo’s.
A dim green light covered his body as his wounds began to heal slowly, and right at that moment, Hanna, who was out of star essence, fell unconscious.
The glow over Neo’s body started to dim, and his healing became slower with each passing moment.
He turned and looked at Hanna with a grave look on his face, gritting his teeth, he swung his sword at the nearby merkin and severed its head from its body.
Neo’s body was much better than a few moments ago because of Hanna’s healing petals, but he was not completely fine. He was fatigued, he was in pain, and he was annoyed.
Neo looked at the merkins with bloodthirsty eyes as his mind went blank, and only the thought of killing these loathsome wretches was left in it.
His heavy and pure will to kill and kill alone pressed down on the merkins as his sword suddenly began to glow red. He swung, and his will came crashing down on all the merkins present within fifty meters of him as their heads burst apart.
Neo’s eyes began to turn heavy as the fatigue started to take hold of him. He tried to fight the fatigue, but he was to lose in this fight of his. His eyes turned blank as his body fell like a puppet without threads.
The place turned silent as he also fell unconscious.
However, the silence wasn’t meant to stay, as a heavy cry tore through it.
The malamare frantically moved its tentacles to attack or catch the mad man who was raining down arrows on it from atop the windrazor eagle.
Michael was also fatigued because he had been constantly attacking the malamare to delay it as much as he could, but now he felt like he had not slept for weeks.
"Damn it," he cursed under his breath as he lodged three more arrows at the malamare.
His star essence was running low; he was not the best combatant, either. Even with his skills as the best marksman of the Night Tower, he could not do anything, let alone kill a pseudo-adept rank star beast.
His face darkened as he looked at the malamare, who continued to move deeper into the island. Anzu still had enough star essence to boost his flight, but it would also run out soon.
The volley of arrows continued until every thread of his star essence left him, and he too fell unconscious.
Anuz retreated as it felt Michael fall unconscious. However, even as the master of the sky, it was not fast enough not without the much-needed star essence, and that is why it could not dodge the malamare’s tentacle, which wrapped around it.
Michael fell from Anzu’s back as the malamare took hold of it and threw it down with all of its strength. Anzu was sent flying towards the ground.
Anzu looked at the malamare with heavy, hateful eyes as the malamare moved towards Michael, who lay unconscious a few steps away from it.
The malamare opened its jaw, and ethereal strings came out of it, moving towards Michael like soul sucking serpents.
They moved forward like they were alive and sank themselves into his skin. The malamare spread its star essence in the strings to take away the spiritual star core of Michael. Michael’s body began to tremble violently as his blank white eyes opened instantly, his eyes started to glow, but with each passing moment, the glow turned dimmer and dimmer.
At the same moment, the green lines throughout the malamare’s body began to glow white like that of Michael’s eyes, but with each passing moment, it turned greener.
The malemare had begun to eat away at his core.
And a white pigeon, which stood atop a branch of the tree Anna was lying under, saw all of it with cold eyes.
The white pigeon, which appeared otherworldly, suddenly turned ordinary, and rain started pouring. The pigeon’s sound echoed through the silent trees like a melodious bell as it took flight.
Movement happened at the southern shore, and a graceful figure in a black gown stepped forward. The gown was like the night sky itself, with golden embroidery covering it elegantly.
Yabin Noctvelle, the saintess of Night Tower, the Night Seer, stood at the southern end as she looked at the malamare with displeasure.
"You poor thing... You are one brave monster, aren’t you?"
She questioned in a cold voice.
"You made me wait for the one I gave everything for..."
"You truly make me despise you... But you also helped her find the path."
Yabin looked at the malamare with a smile as she lifted her palm, and a dark black star that made the night of Azor fail in comparison appeared on it.
She crushed the dark star and-

-The darkness around her shattered, turning into sharp blades, they launched themselves towards the malamare.
The malamare moved its tentacles to stop her onslaught, but the darkness cut them with ease, and the malamare was turned into bits of rotting flesh as the darkness ate its life away.
