Chapter 1713: Proof of Allegiance
CHAPTER 1713: CHAPTER 1713: PROOF OF ALLEGIANCE
"Please, this way, gentlemen."
A disciple from the Demon Fiend Hall led Daniel Patel and Carson Flores into the Sect.
Carson observed his surroundings; everything seemed normal.
Disciples of the Demon Fiend Hall were coming and going, with many gathering to exchange cultivation insights, without any sense of tension.
Perhaps as Wes Matthews mentioned, the majority of the disciples were unaware and did not know that their Sect Master had chosen to join the Heavenly Alliance and oppose the Celestial Palace.
The two were led past the Sect Main Hall, through many disciples’ quarters, heading towards the deepest area.
As they went further, there were fewer disciples around, and the buildings grew sparser, causing Carson to furrow his brows.
"Excuse me, senior brother, where are we going?"
The leading disciple turned back and explained, "Hall Master Wes doesn’t like crowds. His Cave Mansion is in the deepest part of the Sect, where it’s quiet."
Carson nodded, not suspecting anything. After all, it’s normal for high-ranking sect leaders to live in peace and quiet.
Doesn’t the head senior brother of the White Crane Immortal Sect also cultivate in seclusion in a remote place?
The three of them crossed several large mountains and arrived in a vast canyon, where the leading disciple stopped.
"Please wait here; I will inform the Hall Master of your arrival."
Just as the guide was about to leave, Carson suddenly spoke up, "Wait!"
The leading disciple paused, then turned around, "Is there something you need?"
Carson glanced around, "To my knowledge, Hall Master Wes doesn’t reside here, does he?"
The pupil’s eyes flashed with a hint of panic, "Isn’t this your first visit? Who says he doesn’t live here?"
Carson sensed the panic in the disciple’s eyes, his heart skipped a beat.
He certainly didn’t know the location of Wes Matthews’ Cave Mansion; he had said it just to bluff him, and his reaction proved there was an issue.
Suddenly, Carson grabbed Daniel Patel without further ado, and directly used the Ground Shrinking Technique, stepping forward.
Just as Carson’s figure disappeared, golden light suddenly flared from the peaks on both sides of the canyon, and a shield of light rose up, instantly enveloping the entire gorge.
As the shield rose, violent Spiritual Energy immediately gathered, forming a terrifying Spiritual Energy Storm that descended upon the entire canyon.
The Spiritual Energy Storm instantly pulverized everything between the canyon, its terrifying pressure even causing the space to distort dramatically.
The guiding disciple couldn’t react in time, his body exploded into fragments, disintegrating into the air.
Carson reappeared outside the canyon, his face changed when he looked back at the terrifying scene within.
What a terrifying killer move!
Such decisive action!
Had Carson reacted a moment slower, he would have been trapped in the Formation. Daniel Patel, as a top Heavenly Immortal, might withstand the impact, but Carson, merely an Earth Immortal, would have been torn to pieces in an instant.
Sweat drenched Carson’s back; although he had faced numerous dangers in his lifetime, this was the most sudden and fierce!
Daniel Patel’s face turned grave. Even as a Peak Heavenly Immortal, he might not be able to withstand such a clearly meticulously prepared formation designed to repel powerful foes.
Several figures soared from the canyon, landing swiftly around them, trapping the two in the center, led by Xander Frost, the Hall Master.
Xander Frost appraised the two, his gaze chilling.
He possessed a magical treasure that could silently detect the general strength of cultivators within a certain range, so when Daniel Patel appeared, he sensed the other’s power.
After the guiding disciple showed a flaw, Xander immediately activated the Formation. However, he was shocked that the one reacting was not Daniel Patel, but the weaker Carson.
This young man had astonishingly escaped the canyon just in time, taking Daniel Patel and evading the Formation’s reach.
"Your reaction is impressive, I must admit!"
Carson stared at Xander Frost, "May I know who you are?"
Xander Frost replied coldly, "Didn’t you come for me? Yet you don’t even recognize me, how laughable!"
Carson frowned, "Xander Frost?"
Xander laughed, "Surprised it’s not Wes Matthews who appeared before you?"
Carson answered candidly, "Indeed, I’m surprised. Could Hall Master Frost enlighten me?"
Xander Frost retorted coldly, "That guy betrayed us, secretly exposed our plan, and we found out. Now he’s eating dust in the dungeon."
Carson was skeptical of Xander’s words, "Knowing your identity was revealed, instead of fleeing immediately, you set an ambush here to attack us. You’re quite audacious. Do you think the Demon Fiend Hall’s strength can contend with the Celestial Palace?"
Xander laughed heartily, "Indeed, since you know my identity, to join the Heavenly Alliance, we must bring gifts, don’t we?"
Carson realized, "So, you intend to offer our lives as your token of sincerity?"
