Chapter 1732: Chapter 1732: Who Drove Him to His Death?
“Boom!”
The massive Earth Immortal Palace was quickly collapsing, figures bursting through the thick rock walls and shooting straight into the sky.
Carson Flores, whose strength was considered the lowest amongst those present, was escorted out of the cave by a guard of the Immortal Palace Heavenly Immortal and returned to the surface, along with Jane Vasquez, Arthur Frost, and Mu Yan’er.
Jane Vasquez was already terrified out of her wits, her face pale as paper.
She looked at Carson, her eyes full of fear: “Who exactly are you?”
Carson glanced at the battlefield around them, answering calmly: “Immortal Palace Envoy, deputy commander of this extermination squad, Carson Flores.”
After a pause, Carson added: “I have no relation to the Treasure Path Sect, nor am I some notable person’s illegitimate child.”
Immortal Palace Envoy!
Jane felt bitterness welling up inside, wondering what on earth Lucian Lopez, the Hall Master of External Affairs, was thinking.
He had actually brought an Immortal Palace Envoy into the headquarters, taught him the Reincarnation Sutra, and even had her try to seduce him to join the Heavenly Dao Alliance?
Wasn’t this a textbook case of letting the wolf into the house?
“How did you know our headquarters is here?”
Carson’s gaze fell on Arthur Frost, who seemed bewildered, and he answered calmly, “The Demon Fiend Hall has been taken by my Immortal Palace.”
Arthur Frost and Mu Yan’er’s faces turned pale, and Arthur blurted out, “What happened to my father?”
Carson replied coldly, “When the Immortal Palace Envoy arrived, your father neither surrendered nor fled. Instead, he activated a killing array, intending to slay the Envoy and use the Immortal Palace’s head as proof of allegiance to join the Heavenly Dao Alliance. What do you believe his fate was?”
Arthur’s face turned ashen, knowing that joining the Heavenly Dao Alliance against the Immortal Palace was already a capital offense, and openly ambushing the Immortal Palace’s Envoy was an unforgivable crime, a dead-end.
“Is… is he dead?”
Carson nodded, “He revealed to us the identity of the Immortal Monarch of the Four Seas and the location of this place, and then, for breaking his vow, he was erased by the Heavenly Dao!”
Arthur’s eyes immediately reddened, glaring at Carson with rage: “You knew he had made a vow, but you still forced him to reveal it! You forced him to his death!”
Carson coldly stared at Arthur: “Have you not wondered why I summoned both of you to my side alone, why you survived the first wave of explosive assaults, and why you are standing here before me shouting at the top of your lungs?”
Arthur suddenly froze.
He wasn’t foolish, realizing the truth almost instantly: “My father gave you the information you wanted, in exchange for my life?”
Carson calmly replied, “You’re not too stupid then! You say we forced your father to his death, but have you ever thought about why he ended up on this path, and for whom?”
Arthur felt as though he’d been struck by lightning, his whole being suddenly soulless and unmoving.
His father joined the Heavenly Dao Alliance for whom?
For him, of course!
If it wasn’t for his insistence on joining the Heavenly Dao Alliance, how would his father, who originally had no intention of getting involved, end up in this predicament?
It wasn’t the Immortal Palace that forced his father to death; it was himself!
Carson ignored the devastated Arthur, turning his gaze to Mu Yan’er: “Mu Yan’er, tell me, who instructed you to seduce Arthur Frost?”
Mu Yan’er’s body trembled, all three having had their powers sealed by the Immortal Heavenly Immortal just now, their lives hanging by Carson’s hands. She dared not hesitate at all, and quickly answered, “It was Lucian Lopez, the Hall Master of External Affairs, who instructed me!”
Mu Yan’er glanced at Jane Vasquez and quickly added, “Both Jane and I originally belonged to the Peach Blossom Sect. After the sect joined the Heavenly Dao Alliance, we were under Lucian’s management. He selected certain targets for us to approach and entice into joining the Heavenly Dao Alliance, then used the Wild Blood Worm to control them, thereby affecting their families!”
Carson coldly asked, “Do you love Arthur Frost?”
Mu Yan’er shook her head vigorously, “No, his talent is average, and he’s dull. How could I fall in love with him? Our Peach Blossom Sect disciples don’t hold high positions in the Heavenly Dao Alliance. I influenced the Demon Fiend Hall through Arthur Frost, making a significant achievement. I just used him to elevate my status.”
“Actually, there were quite a few targets for this plan, but most of my sisters failed. After all, many people are cautious, not blindly joining the Heavenly Dao Alliance against the Immortal Palace for so-called love. But he, with mediocre skills but overly prideful, forgot who he was after a few compliments, joining the alliance without hesitation, being controlled by the Wild Blood Worm, and thinking himself a core disciple…”
“Bitch! I’ll kill you!”
The nearby, distraught Arthur Frost suddenly roared in anger, charging forward to knock Mu Yan’er to the ground, his hands gripping her neck, eyes bloodshot and face twisted in fury.
“It’s all your fault, you bitch! You deceived me, you caused my father’s death!”
Both Arthur and Mu Yan’er had their Sea of Consciousness sealed, thus both were like ordinary people with strong physiques, unable to use Spiritual Energy, desperately struggling on the ground.
Mu Yan’er, being female, naturally suffered greatly, completely overpowered by the physically stronger Arthur Frost, one hand squeezing her neck, the other landing punch after punch on her body.
Jane Vasquez watched this scene, then looked at Carson watching coldly from the side, her whole body beginning to tremble…
