The First Cultivator - Changing Existence

CHAPTER 877: THE SYSTEM - 877
Time passed as Zhou Fan cultivated. He could tell that things would take a lot longer from here on out. The Chaos Immortal realm was a new level. For others, it would mean no longer being restricted within time and space. One could traverse the nothingness, though the first few fools that dared would most likely not end up happy.
Zhou Fan already completely understood the nothingness, and as a result, could wander it freely.
Everyone else would have a time limit, and if they weren’t careful, they could die.
Any being born within the Main Multiverse would be able to find it even within the nothingness, but finding anything else was impossible unless someone showed them a path. At the current moment, only Zhou Fan could wander the nothingness with purpose.
Those who had only mastered 3,000 Rules would not be able to last that long within the nothingness, and even those who comprehended 10,000 Rules would not make any meaningful progress in the short term. If they wanted to be like Zhou Fan and wander the nothingness even without the power of Chaos, they would have to comprehend its surface, just as Zhou Fan had.
It had taken Zhou Fan a while, and for others, it would take even longer.
There had still not been any Chaos Immortals yet, but they were coming.
The Universe was growing, and nothing could stop the beings within it from trying to catch up.
Millions of Sage Years passed. Zhou Fan felt almost no improvement, but to others, this time was enough for them to break through multiple realms.
Ye Li was firmly sitting as the peak of the Immortal Emperor realm, waiting for the right time to break through.
Lu Jue was at the peak of the Immortal King realm. He and Ye Li had not fought since that day long ago, and nobody knew if Lu Jue was capable of beating Ye Li.
Regardless of everything else, there wasn’t anyone confident in stopping Ye Li from running away with his life.
That is exactly why Lu Jue had not taken action. The damage Ye Li could do from the shadows was unimaginable.
More powerful Path Creators were born as life expanded to live all across the Multiverse. A single Sage Year was an incredible amount of time, and millions of them were enough for almost anything to happen.
Even many ancient and talented Path Creators were passed up every day, the order of the Multiverse being restructured.
Zhou Fan was surprised at Ying Xiong’s resilience. He was one of the oldest beings among the Path Creators, if not the oldest, and he was still among the most supreme of them all.
His Underworld was the force that governed what happened after one died, and worked closely in relation with the God of Death.
Ever since Ye Li had taken control of the powerful beings considered by most as evil, none had been willing to work with him, and Ye Li had not bothered with such weak beings.
The God of Death also distanced himself, and although he could survive on his own, he wanted to do more than survive, he wanted to thrive.
Zhou Fan imagined that he would officially join the Underworld sooner or later. They simply worked too well together.
Although Zhou Fan’s eyes could watch over everything, it was impossible for him to see all of the finest details of the entire Multiverse.
This was how a race of parasitic beings came into existence without notice.
These beings were unique, as the first member of its race was born a Path Creator.
It wandered the planet it was born on, waiting for a suitable being. After ten thousand years, during which it discovered its lifespan was extraordinary, it found a suitable host.
The boy had just turned 15 when text appeared in the air in front of him.
"Hello host. I am the system, here to guide you on the path of power."
The boy was confused, but as time passed, he began to understand. From the information he had been told, the system was something born by the death of an extremely powerful being. The system acted as its inheritance and a remnant part of its will.
He was suspicious at first, but the results spoke for themselves. The boy quickly grew in power, guided by the system in the path of cultivation. The boy’s planet was large, but he still reached the peak of power on it, the True God realm. The system had merely provided him with hints and basic pointers, but the boy gained a form of worship for it, despite it seeming like a machine.
The system had thoughts as well. It had only deducted the most basic information from what it was given and had fed it to the boy. Before the boy, it had only learned bits and pieces of things it had picked up while wandering. In its wandering state, it might as well have been almost entirely unconscious, which meant that it did not know much.
Only its incredible comprehension abilities had gotten it this far.
The boy left the planet and traveled around his Universe, learning countless techniques and growing rapidly under the guidance of the system. But all fun things had to end. Despite the system’s help, the boy simply had limited talent.
After reaching the peak of the High Sage realm, he found that he could not advance anymore. The boy was saddened, but not distraught by this. In his Universe, one far far away from the Main Universe, he was near the absolute peak of power.
But just when he had given up all hope, the system gave him a chance. A technique that would allow him to possibly enter the Great Dao realm, but with a chance of dying.
The boy sat on it for multiple Sage Years before finally deciding to give it a try. As soon as he practiced it for the first time, his mind stopped working, and his eyes glazed over.
The system did not have many emotions, but it seemed to heave a sigh of relief.
Text appeared, though the lifeless host could no longer read it.
"Deactivation technique activated. The host will now return everything he was given."
The lifeless body of the host soon turned to dust, all its power passed on to an ethereal existence known as the system.
