The First Cultivator - Changing Existence

CHAPTER 887: NIE SHANZI - 887
The first monster was already in his human form, and simply traveled to the Human realm. Nobody so much as threw him a second glance. Without the first human here, the first monster had no fear of being recognized.
He soon found a map and headed towards the center of the Human realm. There was a large city the size of a galaxy.
This was the capital of human civilization. Although a million years had passed, the changes from the betrayal of the first human were still ongoing.
No more was there almost absolute peace within the Human realm. Different factions competed against each other for power.
Although the ruler of human civilization was going to be the person who had fought off the first human, most of the other positions were not set in stone.
If one could control everyone around the ruler, then they could effectively control the ruler himself.
After all, this was no longer the first human, who ruled like a monarch. This was a man who believed in democracy, and he could be used for their gain.
The first monster observed the situation for a while before going to a tavern. This was a middle class tavern, but few people were in it. It seemed hidden among the flashy buildings around it.
But its simple demeanor was exactly why the ruler of human civilization often disguised himself and came here. Although he could disguise himself in the eyes of others, he could not deceive the first monster. The first monster just so happened to be sitting in the seat next to where the ruler of human civilization usually sat
Neither of them acknowledged each other at first, but the first monster eventually spoke.
"Tough day?"
"Tough life." The human ruler said.
"Yeah. It has been rough recently." The first monster said.
"Tell me about it. Everyone around me is some implant meant to control me, and the worst part is that I can’t do anything about it. They think I’m so stupid I can’t tell what’s going on."
"You must be pretty important. But take my advice, give them an inch, and they’ll take a mile." The first monster said.
"It’s not that I’m too weak, but my beliefs don’t allow me to rule with strength. That is the very thing I fought against."
"Then don’t. Get someone to do it for you." The first monster suggested.
"If only it was that easy. Few have the strength necessary. And besides, I couldn’t trust anyone."
"If you pay me enough, I could help you out."
The human ruler chuckled. "You?"
"I may look weak, but I’m a False Immortal."
The human ruler was shocked and gave him a second look. He didn’t seem to be lying.
"What is a False Immortal like you doing here?"
"Right back at you. I can’t even tell how strong you are."
The human ruler found that logical.
"Even so, I still think it’s against my ideals to give someone the ability to rule with strength."
"Who said that is the only way? Trust me, I can follow the rules and get rid of your problem. Just give me a chance. And a lot of money."
The human ruler hesitated. Should he really trust this random man he found in a tavern?
But everything was really going to shit.
"Fine. I’ll give you a temporary position tomorrow. Come to the high court at noon."
The first monster nodded. "Drinks are on me."
The human ruler smiled and spent a few more hours in the tavern before leaving.
But before he left, he looked at the first monster with a bit of confusion. "I’m an honest person, so I’ll be straight with you. Can you tell me why you give me the fucking creeps?"
The first monster looked stunned for a moment before shrugging. "I couldn’t tell you."
The human ruler looked him up and down for a moment before shrugging and leaving.
The first monster’s fake demeanor faded when he left, and he soon exited as well. "It seems I can’t let my guard down around him. He was able to defeat the first human for a reason. His instinct is strong."
The next day, at noon, he arrived outside the steps leading to the high court. He wasn’t stopped as he walked up. He hadn’t even given the human ruler a name the other day. There was no way to identify him besides the human ruler confirming his looks.
He entered the hall and soon found a door.
He entered the high court with a glance from the guards.
Inside was a long hall. On the sides were hundreds of seats, and in front were just five.
One was occupied by the human ruler.
"Come." The human ruler said, more domineering than when they had met in the tavern. He had to. Otherwise, these people would have taken physical action against him long ago.
The first monster stopped near the end of the hall.
"What is your name?" The human ruler asked.
"My name is Nie Shanzi." The first monster replied. He had killed a False Immortal named Nie Shanzi after entering the capital, and although they didn’t look much alike, he would pass any background check as long as it didn’t go too deep.
"Nie Shanzi. I hereby appoint you as the temporary enforcer of the Human realm government. This position shall last for a year, though it can be canceled at any time, and your authority is limited to the Human realm capital unless otherwise specified. Do you accept this appointment?"
The first monster nodded. "Yes."
"Congratulations. This meeting is adjourned."
The people in the hall, who amounted to around a hundred, got up and left.
The first monster and the human ruler left together, entering a room soon after.
"There it is. Your job is to deal with any corruption or uncover any crimes. With your strength, you should be able to resist any attack on you, but just in case, take this." The human ruler said.
He handed the first monster a talisman. If he used it, it would alert the human ruler and create a protective barrier around him.
