Chapter 612: Chapter 155: Approaching the Mysterious Land (Part 2)

The eyes were filled with murderous intent, terribly cold, making everyone’s heart bristle with fear when they were looked upon.

“Sinful beast!” Shakyamuni’s eyes emitted golden light, surrounded by a golden radiance, dignified in presence, like a small sun, emitting endless light and heat. He took a large stride forward, his hands forming mudras as he chanted Buddha’s name. A gleaming Buddha Seal shot out from his hands.

This was an exceptionally brilliant beam of light, containing the pure Buddha Power of Shakyamuni, accompanied by flashes of lightning and thunder, fierce winds howled as it charged directly at those eerie green eyes.

“Om!”

It was like Heaven and Earth Cracking, the Buddha Seal drew a beautiful arc in the Heavenly Vault, tearing the Heaven and Earth apart as if it could destroy all obstacles, causing the Void ahead to shatter loudly.

A momentary panic flashed through those eyes, then two miserable green lights spewed forth, transforming into two long rivers, smashing directly onto the golden Buddha Seal.

With a light “pop” sound, the green long rivers intersected with the Buddha Seal, exploding into dust, vanishing into nothingness.

Everyone’s faces changed dramatically; Shakyamuni’s True Yuan was extremely powerful. The Buddha Seal he released should be able to threaten a cultivator in the Sub-Saint Middle Stage, yet it was still destroyed by the owner of that pair of eyes.

“Swoosh!”

Suddenly, the eyes surged back explosively, their distant figure growing smaller yet still as large as a small hill, extremely terrifying.

“Big Brother, should we chase?” Long Xu Hu looked at the mist ahead, his words bearing some hesitation.

Li Qingming exchanged a glance with the returning Shakyamuni, saying, “This place is far too strange, a slight carelessness could lead to great loss, let it go!”

Everyone nodded in agreement, saying, “Alright!”

They proceeded cautiously, moving forward with the light from the stars.

After traveling a dozen or so miles through the mist, Li Qingming suddenly stopped in front of a small black hill, speaking with some amazement and uncertainty, “Stop, there’s something odd about this mountain!”

“Oh?”

On hearing this, everyone followed Li Qingming’s pointing finger, seeing a continuous small hill about three hundred yards ahead. It wasn’t very tall, only about several dozen yards high, but there was an extremely terrifying aura slowly emanating from it. Its many plants were gigantic trees, lush and flourishing, yet eerily devoid of any living creatures.

Li Qingming cautiously pulled out a thin long bamboo stick and shot it out.

“Clang!”

The bamboo stick struck the slightly grayish patch of ground, emitting a harsh metallic reverberation, ringing through Heaven and Earth, the echoes unending.

“Hisss! What kind of thing is this? It’s like striking metal, deafening!” Yang Jian clutched his ears tightly, feeling as if his eardrums would split.

Xuan Tian’s expression shifted slightly, taking a few steps forward to lightly touch the ground which the bamboo had struck.

“Watch out! Fellow Daoists, get away quickly, this is a Fierce Beast, a huge Fierce Beast!” All of a sudden, Xuan Tian’s expression changed, and he soared back hundred of yards.

“Roar!”

A roar rang out, only to see the “ground” that was grayish in color suddenly crack open, a dark green “long vine” coated in mucus shot out from the fissure, lightning-fast wrapping toward Xuan Tian.

Xuan Tian’s face showed anger, his right hand transforming into a knife-like palm, striking down on the “long vine.”

“Spurt!”

The “long vine” was cleanly severed, dark green blood spraying from the cut, drenching the Heavenly Vault. A Fierce Beast resembling a rat emerged from the black mist, its body a black-gray color, perfectly blending into the mist, and its size extended over a hundred yards.

Filled with resentment, it glanced at everyone, then twisted and burrowed through a dense forest, disappearing in the distance.

The group exchanged looks, sweating coldly.

Long Xu Hu, uncertain, rubbed his chest, saying, “What the hell! How did the Golden Boat City Lord manage to gather such calamities, scared me to death!”

Shakyamuni put his palms together, saying, “Amitabha Buddha, if it’s fortune, then it’s not a disaster; if it’s disaster, it can’t be avoided!”

“This, this is too terrifying!” Yang Jian said, forehead sweating profusely.

Li Qingming gave Xuan Tian a light pat on the shoulder, saying, “Fellow Daoist, are you hurt?”

Xuan Tian shook his head, saying, “Lucky I moved fast, otherwise, even if I didn’t get hurt, I would have had to disgustingly crawl out from the beast’s stomach!”

Li Qingming laughed heartily, saying, “That’s good, no injuries. It seems this place really is strange! We must be cautious everywhere!”

Everyone nodded and continued forward.

Another dozen miles passed, during which many dangers and countless Fierce Beasts lurked, but they ultimately didn’t attack the group.

“Howl…”

Suddenly, Li Qingming and the others were attacked when they entered a desert area; a roar came, followed by a dense “shasha” noise. The surrounding desert terrain revealed numerous creatures as thick as water buckets, like giant pythons, surging towards the group.

Li Qingming narrowed his eyes and summoned the Qiankun Ruler, striking out at a sand worm that shot towards him, hitting it squarely.

“Clang!”

A loud noise was followed by the sound of shattering glass, a rank fluid splashing out.

“What kind of fierce beast is it this time?” Everyone was taken aback.

“Whoosh whoosh…”

The sand for miles around began to surge like waves, with hundreds of thick sand worms bursting out and streaking through the air, tracing yellow arcs as they spat out patches of yellow fluid, splattering down like rain.

The crowd jumped in fright, thinking that even if the liquid did no harm to the body, it was utterly repulsive. They had no choice but to leap into the high sky together.

Yang Jian fiercely slapped his chest, transforming into the body of the Chaos Demon Ape and roared wildly.

“Roar!”

The terrifying sound waves shook the Heavenly Vault, causing the Void to tremble violently, and waves of golden ripples knocked all the liquid back.

The liquid reversed its course, hitting many of the sand worms unable to dodge in time.

The disgusting yellow fluid made a sizzling sound upon contact with the sand worms’ bodies, corroding large holes into their shells, with rank blood pouring out. It was gross in the extreme.

“Ugh… What on earth is this?” Yang Jian looked disgustingly at the sand worms below that had been corroded by the yellow poison, commented.

Li Qingming said, “Considering the corrosivity of this yellow fluid, these beasts must be scavenging fierce animals, but why are they attacking us for no reason?”

“Big senior brother, could that guy be commanding them?” Long Xuhu pointed towards a small hill a few miles away.

Following Long Xuhu’s finger, they saw the rodent-like fierce beast that had attacked Xuan Tian now standing on a distant hill, its lantern-like eyes flashing with rage.

“Damn it, it’s him!” Li Qingquan roared irately, gathering strength under his feet, transforming into a streak of light and darting towards the rodent-like fierce beast.

The fierce beast saw this and screeched in horror, trying to use sand worms to block the swiftly approaching Li Qingquan while it moved in lightning speed to a deep cave atop the hill, escaping into it.

“Trying to run? Die!” Li Qingquan flung aside the sand worms blocking his path, striding miles in a single step, his fist entwined with majestic Tao Runes and a crushing Heavenly Earth pressure, striking the hill fiercely.

“Boom!”

Compared to the hill, the seemingly delicate fist brought with it an overwhelming force upon the mountaintop. There was a momentary pause in space, and moments later, the hill crumbled and stones pierced the sky!

“Ahh~~~”

A pitifully wretched scream came from the foot of the mountain. Beneath the rubble, a colossal rodent-shaped demon lay motionless, its body devoid of any hint of life.

“Rustle rustle…”

All the sand worms that had been attacking Li Qingming and his companions crazily retreated, their target shockingly the already dead rodent-shaped fierce beast.

With a “crack, crack” of gnawing, the massive fierce beast has turned into a pile of eerie white bones in a blink, lying forlornly in the chilly wind, abandoned.

“It was indeed it!” Li Qingming said coldly as he looked down at the bones.

“Alright, let’s hurry on. There are thirty miles to go; let’s hope that creature above doesn’t attack us without reason!” Shakyamuni glanced at the fierce beasts constantly patrolling the Heavenly Vault, a trace of wariness flickering in his eyes.

Everyone nodded and continued on their way.

At the very center of the giant island, two forces were locked in a fierce stare-off.

One of them was naturally the Desert King Huntian and his entourage, who had entered the island first. Along the way, Huntian had encountered many elites from other realms. To them, Huntian left only two choices: submit or perish.

Most of the previously indignant elites from various worlds pragmatically cowered and pledged allegiance to Huntian under his aura and the reputation of the Ancestor of Ten Thousand Demons. Only a few who defied Huntian’s orders were slain by him, meeting their complete demise.

Thus, the number of Huntian’s followers had surged from over a hundred to more than three hundred. Of course, this did not include the over three hundred people who were annihilated by Li Qingming and his companions.

The other side confronting Huntian, however, was the elite from various realms who had entered the giant island behind Li Qingming. There were more than four hundred of them, headed by the young cultivator and the palace-dressed beauty who had previously stood with Li Qingming at the tavern.

The two opposing forces totaled up to eight hundred people. Together with the three hundred people killed by Li Qingming and his group, this trip to the Beast Fighting Arena had resulted in the death of four hundred people at the claws of fierce beasts – truly a brutal situation.

“I wonder if anyone will come out around this giant island.”

“Eh! What about that Li Qingming group? I heard they were very strong!”

“Haven’t you noticed? That Huntian has nearly five hundred followers, but only over three hundred have come out this time, and more than two hundred are new faces. I guess he ordered those people to block Li Qingming’s group!”

“Hiss! Very likely, ten people against three hundred, that’s almost certain death! What a pity!”

Both forces waited, wanting to see if Li Qingming and the others could still make it out. (To be continued.
