CHAPTER 139: RIVEN’S WRATH, ALEX’S POISON,

He understood Darian’s final warning.Alex growled and shouted,"Hati!"

Hati appeared out of the void like a silent guardian. The wolf growled at the monsters with a primal warning.

Alex patted Hati’s head and whispered,"Go. Hide near Selene. Save her when she needs you—but don’t reveal your power to anyone."Hati nodded and vanished into the void without a sound.

Alex rose to his feet and looked at the golden-furred gorilla. Then he turned toward the frozen Riven and shouted with a taunting grin,"Oi, Riven! Did your courage break like your nose?"

Riven snapped out of his frozen state."You bastard!" he roared, teeth clenched.

Space Element surged around him.The very air shattered like glass.Rifts opened around him, forming cracks in reality as he raised his dagger high in a sweeping arc.

Aslan’s eyes widened. He screamed,"Back away! RETREAT! NOW! NOW!"

All the remaining fighters leaped back, retreating from the center of the arena.

Bhola, sensing something unnatural, turned his head—Just in time to see it.

A colossal, radiant sword descended from the sky—Shimmering like a slice of the galaxy itself.

BOOM!Half of Bhola’s body vanished.

BOOM!The sword slash didn’t stop.It cut the arena in half, continuing outward in a terrifying line of destruction. It struck the distant sea—Splitting the waters near the island’s shore in a perfect cleave.

Up in the sky, the Principal and the black-cloaked man both stared in stunned silence. The Principal muttered,"Galaxy Sword... That’s the Void Sage’s technique. But the energy—it’s not the same."

The black-cloaked man trembled. For the first time, he lost all composure, screaming,"WHAT?!"

The Principal turned his head toward him and said coldly,"You can’t interfere now, my dear friend."

The man clenched his fists, eyes burning with fury—but he held back, composed, though the veins in his hand bulged with restraint.

Back in the battle arena, the other half of Bhola’s body finally fell to the ground with a heavy:Thud!Blood and guts spilled across the broken platform.

Right after, Riven collapsed onto the half-burned ground, unconscious.

Aslan rushed forward, kneeling beside Riven’s unmoving form.He threw up a protective shield over him, while the few remaining members of the Veylor team closed in around them, forming a barrier.

Alex stood in silence, staring at the massive canyon carved by Riven’s attack. Then his gaze turned to the black-clothed figures who now encircled them from all directions.

There was a flicker of hesitation in their eyes—fear—but their bodies kept moving forward, slowly tightening the net.

Alex stepped forward, his spear gleaming with faint light, and muttered to himself,"Looks like it’s my turn now."

There were more than ten enemies, all clad in skin-tight black gear, only their eyes visible through the slits in their masks.Their movements were precise. Cold. Trained.

Alex narrowed his eyes."At least five are pseudo saints..."He clenched his fist."I’ll use the poison—but only to kill."

He turned toward the wounded and shaken remnants of both the Rebel and Veylor teams, then said softly,"Crouch down."

Everyone obeyed instantly.

Behind Alex, black daggers shimmered into existence, floating in a perfect arc. Each dagger was wreathed in dark smoke, with faint red streaks pulsing within—like veins of venomous power.

Alex raised his spear. Its tip glowed faintly.Shlung! The daggers shot forward in a spinning circle.

Swoosh! Swoosh!Squelch!Squelch!Clang! Clang!

Half of Alex’s daggers were parried—but the other half found their mark.

Screams echoed, blending with the chaotic cries of the spectators—And then, as if the air itself had been snuffed out—Silence.

Half of the black-clothed assailants dropped dead. One of them screamed in panic,"It’s poison—retreat! RETREAT!"

But Alex didn’t stop.Another barrage of daggers appeared behind him—this time faster, deadlier.

Squelch!Squelch!

Every single one struck its mark.Gut-wrenching screams echoed through the blood-stained arena—One by one, they collapsed like rabid dogs put down.

Alex’s eyes didn’t waver. His shoulders finally relaxed. He turned to his teammates, who were all staring at him with wide, disbelieving eyes.He simply nodded, and walked toward Tina’s fallen body.

Cheeky Brat followed him quietly.

Alex crouched down beside her.Her body was cold—soaked in blood—but she was still breathing.Shallow... but alive.

Without hesitation, Alex placed his hand over the gaping, bloodied hole in the center of her chest and began channeling his wood elemental power.

It flowed gently—like water pouring into a parched, dying well. Her wound began to close, visibly. Her breath turned from shallow... to ragged... then finally, to steady and calm.

Cheeky Brat’s eyes filled with tears. He gently lifted Tina’s head into his lap, brushing her blood-stained crimson hair aside, revealing her tear-streaked face in the light.

Alex collapsed to the ground, panting heavily from exhaustion.

As he lay there, he looked up.Above the stadium, two figures floated in the air—the Principal, and a black-clothed man.

The black-clothed man’s voice rang out, thundering like a storm:"RETREAT!"

His voice pierced into Alex’s very mind,Before the man vanished like smoke—gone without a trace.

The Crimson Wyvern followed, its mouth still dripping with blood. The Hyena, cackling wildly, bounded after it—And behind them, two black-clothed men, exuding the fearsome aura of Saints, trailed in deadly silence.

Alex crouched on the ruined ground, clutching his head with both hands.Blood oozed from his ears and nose.

Selene ran to him, her eyes wide with horror."He was mentally attacked... that Sage shamelessly attacked Alex’s mind!"

She crouched near his ear and screamed, her voice trembling with desperation,"Fight it, Alex! Use your willpower—fight it! Don’t die on us... please, fight it!"

Tears rolled down her pale cheeks.

Rina stepped forward, hesitating—But then softly took Alex’s trembling hand, her own eyes brimming with tears.

Inside Alex’s Mind Space—

A strange wisp appeared—Shaped like a man with a cranky beard and a bald head, it floated in with a goofy smile, glancing around curiously. But almost instantly, it froze in place.

The Sage’s voice echoed with utter disbelief:"WHAT!? HOW CAN A COMMONER... LEARN MIND SPACE CULTIVATION!?"

Alex’s own wisp emerged before him—Calm.

He saw the intruder frozen in shock. With a silent flick of will, Alex summoned three dark needles—painstakingly forged over time.He hurled them toward the Sage.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh! The needles pierced the intruder’s head, heart, and stomach.Thuck! Thuck! Thuck!

The intruder turned around slowly, his spectral eyes wide in disbelief. He stared at Alex and stammered:"...Who... are you?"

But before he could get an answer, the Sage’s wisp vanished like smoke.

Alex exhaled and slowly exited his mind space.

When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw were two tear-streaked faces hovering close to him—Rina and Selene. He felt their soft hands wrapped tightly around his own.

He muttered weakly,"Are you guys... okay?"

Rina, still caught in emotion, replied without thinking,"Yes, we are—but Alex is not!"

Alex gave a small, warm smile."But I am okay."

Rina narrowed her eyes and jabbed,"No, you’re not..."Then her eyes widened. She stared at Alex, then suddenly lunged forward and hugged him tightly.

Selene, finally coming back to her senses, let out a long, relieved breath—A soft smile bloomed across her face.

A moment later, Rina gasped, her face turning bright red.She quickly pulled back and pushed Alex away.
