The Fox Hole
Chapter 108
Chapter: 108
– Kazuma –
Kazuma stomped through the crowded streets of the starting adventurer town, hands stuffed into his pockets and his brow twitching in frustration. Behind him, Aqua's shrill voice pierced the afternoon air, earning curious glances from the townsfolk around them.
"Kazuma, KAZUMA!" Aqua whined loudly as she rushed after him. "Please come back and do another quest with me! I need more alcohol! I'm running dangerously low, Kazuma! And I'm so tired of sleeping in that dirty old barn!"
Kazuma halted abruptly, spinning around on his heel with irritation flaring brightly in his eyes. His gaze narrowed sharply as he jabbed a finger directly toward Aqua's face. "If you were truly tired of living in a barn, Aqua, maybe you shouldn't spend every single coin we earn on alcohol!" he shot back. "We might actually afford rent and have a real place to live if you didn't blow it all on booze, you utterly useless goddess!"
Aqua recoiled dramatically with unshed tears and her lower lip quivering in an exaggerated pout. "WAH! KAZUMA IS BULLYING ME AGAIN! How could you speak to a beautiful, benevolent goddess like that? Don't you understand—I'm doing this for both of us! Alcohol is the nectar that sustains my divine powers!"
Kazuma rolled his eyes, groaning loudly and turning his back on her once more. "Whatever, Aqua," he muttered bitterly, continuing forward and leaving the protesting goddess behind him. "I just need some time alone—away from you, away from Megumin and her obsession with explosions, and definitely away from Darkness and her insane masochistic fantasies!"
He trudged through the lively marketplace of the starting town, eyes scanning across the wooden stalls filled with weapons, magical trinkets, and food carts. His shoulders sagged as frustration gave way to depression.
"Why—" Kazuma lamented bitterly to himself, voice quiet and dripping with self-pity, "did I have to die in the single most humiliating manner possible? I didn't even save the girl at all! And then, when I got reincarnated, it was supposed to be exciting, filled with adventure and cute girls worshipping the ground I walk on! But nooo—I'm stuck here with no cheat skills, no legendary powers, and a team consisting of a worthless goddess, an explosive-crazy wizard, and a knight whose every conversation inevitably devolves into disturbingly detailed fantasies about being captured and violated by orcs!"
Kazuma sighed deeply, rubbing his temples to soothe the growing ache of frustration. He needed something, anything, to distract himself from the bitter disappointment and stress of his current situation. As he wandered aimlessly, his eyes flickered over the familiar buildings of the town.
But suddenly, something caught his attention. Something he had never noticed before.
"The Fox Hole." Kazuma tilted his head slightly, scratching his chin thoughtfully. "Has that family restaurant always been here? Why don't I remember it at all…?"
Kazuma hesitated briefly at the wooden door before finally sighing and pushing it open. The gentle jingle of a small bell greeted him warmly as he stepped into the lively restaurant. It was crowded, but in a comfortable, inviting way.
Nothing at all like the rowdy chaos of the Adventurer's Guild.
Kazuma glanced around, taking in the sights and sounds. Every table was full, people laughing and chatting loudly enough to create a cheerful buzz.
But as his gaze drifted around the room, Kazuma’s eyes widened in mild disbelief. At one table, a group of muscular men in heavy furs and steel armor drank cheerfully, roaring with laughter as they clinked mugs overflowing with foaming ale. Vikings? Here?
Another table held a trio dressed in long, flowing wizard robes, complete with pointed hats perched jauntily on their heads.
A few feet away, two women in sharply tailored business suits reminiscent of Japan sat calmly, sipping cups of tea and chatting politely. Modern day clothing?
Kazuma’s eyebrow twitched in confusion. He squinted slightly when he noticed several blue-skinned women—beautiful, alien-looking figures that somehow felt oddly familiar, even though he couldn't quite place where he'd seen them before. But he KNOWS he definitely had…
“Still, at least they're not as crazy as the idiots at the guild,” Kazuma muttered quietly to himself, relaxing slightly. He could figure it all out at his own pace.
Not seeing anyone who looked like a hostess or a waiter, Kazuma shrugged and started weaving through the tables toward the bar, deciding it would be okay to seat himself. As he passed by a large table, distracted by the colorful characters around him, he suddenly felt something bump firmly into his leg.
“Oof!” A high-pitched voice squeaked from somewhere below Kazuma's line of sight.
He looked down, startled, and his eyes widened again. This time at the small, golden-haired girl standing directly in front of him. She stared up at him with large, bright slitted eyes. Her hair was messy and slightly tangled, decorated with bits of twigs and leaves. Two fluffy fox ears atop her head twitched curiously, and nine full, golden tails swayed gracefully behind her.
She would've been adorable, Kazuma thought silently, except for one alarming detail—her clothes were covered in streaks of dirt and what looked suspiciously like blood.
“Hi there!” the little fox-girl said cheerfully, completely oblivious to Kazuma’s wide-eyed stare. She flashed a bright, innocent smile, hands clasped politely in front of her. “I'm Kunou! Welcome to The Fox Hole—my brother's restaurant!”
Kazuma blinked down at her, briefly processing this surprising revelation. “Ah...thanks,” he finally replied awkwardly. Then, still staring cautiously at the splashes of red staining her small kimono, he hesitantly asked, “Um, hey, kid. Are you okay? You're...uh, covered in blood.”
Kunou tilted her head curiously for a moment, then glanced down at herself and giggled as though she'd only just noticed. “Oh, don’t worry! This isn't mine!” She waved her hand dismissively. “It belongs to the mean ol' Oji-san who tried to stop us from seeing the puppet village! But we beat him up!”
Kazuma’s jaw dropped slightly. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to respond to such casual violence coming from such a tiny, innocent-looking creature. “Oh. Uh… puppet village?” was all he managed to stammer out in confusion.
Kunou nodded enthusiastically, her fluffy tails swishing with delight. “Yeah! That place was so fun and cool! You should totally visit sometime!” Before Kazuma could formulate a reply, she spun around on her heel and ran off toward a nearby booth. “Hey, Tanya-chan! Did you order something yummy yet?!” she called happily as she reached another young blonde girl sitting quietly at the table.
Kazuma watched her leave, feeling strangely exhausted from the bizarre interaction. He rubbed the back of his neck uncertainly. “What the hell kind of place is this?” he mumbled under his breath.
Kazuma stood there for a second—mentally processing whatever that interaction was—when suddenly he heard an unmistakable, ethereal voice drifting behind him.
“That girl truly hath a talent for running off,” the elegant voice sighed with mild exasperation. “Even a goddess such as myself hath trouble keeping track of her, should I glance away but for a moment.”
Kazuma’s entire body went rigid. His breath caught in his throat as his heart jumped. He recognized that voice!
It couldn't be real…could it?
He spun around sharply, his eyes widening in shock once again. It really was HER!
Standing gracefully before him was indeed a familiar figure. Pale and beautiful blue skin. Her long silver-blue hair cascading in delicate waves beneath a large, ornate hat. Four delicate arms moved gracefully. And her white robes were as pristine and elegant as he'd remembered from countless hours spent immersed in his favorite game.
Kazuma stared, utterly starstruck, his jaw practically dropping open. It was her. There was no mistaking it—this was Ranni. The Lunar Princess. The enigmatic, four-armed goddess who'd captivated him endlessly in his favorite game!
“Oh my goddess…it's really you!” Kazuma shouted, his voice echoing dramatically across the entire restaurant, causing the bustling noise around him to drop abruptly into stunned silence. All eyes turned toward him, startled and curious. But Kazuma hardly noticed. He stepped forward eagerly, eyes gleaming with excitement and disbelief. “R-Ranni-sama, you’re real!” he declared passionately. His heart hammered in his chest, and he threw both arms out dramatically, dropping dramatically to one knee in front of her as though he was before an altar. “This isekai world isn’t sucking so bad after all! I knew you were real! I always knew it! Please accept my devotion, Ranni-sama! You’re so much better than that shitty goddess Aqua!”
A soft snicker burst loudly from the nearby bar stool, swiftly turning into uncontrollable laughter.
Kazuma blinked and looked over, noticing a petite girl with bright pink twin-tails tied with colorful ribbons. Her outfit was eye-catching—but barely-there clothing in vivid colors, leaving little to the imagination.
She pointed a finger rudely at Kazuma as she doubled over in her seat, giggling helplessly. “Hehe! Hey, Ranni-chan, do you know this weirdo human or something?” the pink-haired girl asked teasingly, grinning mischievously through fits of giggles. “He looks weak and dumb!”
Kazuma’s cheeks flushed hotly in embarrassment as his eyes darted desperately back to Ranni. Surely she knew him after the hundreds of hours he devoted to her in new game +7!
But Ranni’s face showed no recognition. She shook her head slightly.
“Nay, Milim,” Ranni replied to the other girl. “I am not familiar with this mortal at all.”
Kazuma’s heart sank painfully. His eyes widened in disbelief as a cold sense of panic filled his chest. “W-what do you mean you’re not familiar?” he stammered desperately, stepping closer again, his voice growing louder and more urgent. “Ranni-sama, we—we got married! Don’t you remember? I put the ring on your finger and everything! I became your Elden Lord! It’s me—Kazuma!”
Ranni’s serene expression shifted abruptly, her gaze turning sharply onto Kazuma with sudden cold fury. Her four arms stiffened slightly, hands clenching gently in subtle anger. “How dare thee speak such drivel and nonsense in mine presence! And in the house of my true beloved as well!” Ranni hissed icily, her usually calm voice now edged with quiet rage. Her luminous eyes glinted dangerously. The air around them suddenly dropped sharply in temperature.
Kazuma shivered uncontrollably, his breath coming out in visible clouds of mist. He heard the startled gasps of other customers around him, and out of the corner of his eye, he saw frost forming quickly on nearby glasses and tabletops.
“I knew it! This weird goddess is totally no good for Haru! He should seriously just ditch her already and go out on dates with me instead!”
Ranni’s sharp glare flicked briefly toward Milim, but the other girl merely stuck out her tongue playfully, entirely unfazed by the chilling glare. Kazuma wasn’t sure how that was possible because Ranni’s angry aura was terrifying!
She was a true powerful Goddess unlike the weak and dumb Aqua!
Kazuma stumbled backward, eyes wide in dawning horror as he realized his huge mistake. “W-wait a minute, Ranni-sama! I—I didn't mean—I swear, I’m not trying to insult you! It really happened in a g–game, I promise—”
She obviously wasn’t listening to him anymore.
“Enough of thy babbling!” Ranni sounded furious. She glared down at him as her four arms tensed. “I shall not suffer a mortal’s foolishness to tarnish my dignity any further. Hold thy tongue, foolish human!”
– Haru –
A couple minutes earlier…
I glanced up from the sizzling pans on the stove just in time to see Kunou, Tanya, and Maelle push open the door of my restaurant and step inside. I immediately felt a sense of relief mixed with mild annoyance, they’d been gone for hours, and judging by the dirt and the thick layers of blood that covered their clothing, their little adventure had been exactly as chaotic as I’d thought it would be.
Still, as my eyes scanned quickly over them, I noticed none of them seemed actually hurt. All the blood definitely wasn’t theirs. With a weary shake of my head, I allowed myself a faint smile, glad they were back in one piece.
Of course they were if Ranni secretly went with them.
Kunou excitedly skipped toward the dining area, looking completely unfazed by the grime and dried blood caked in her golden tails and hair. Tanya walked calmly after her, her military uniform smeared with dirt and gore but her face as composed and unbothered as always. Maelle trailed behind them quietly, looking slightly more shaken but still in good shape overall.
As they headed toward their usual booth, I watched Kunou suddenly collide with someone—a customer I didn’t recognize. We had plenty of new faces all day today.
Kunou grinned widely at the newcomer, giving him her usual bright greeting before bounding off happily to Tanya’s side. But as I looked more carefully at the strange guy, I immediately raised an eyebrow. The human was scruffy, wearing a dirty, smelly tracksuit like the kind you'd see in Japan. A NEET?
And then I smiled at Ranni as she walked in after the three girls. But I wasn’t the only one who noticed her either.
The guy spun around quickly, his eyes going wide with shock and joy when he saw Ranni standing calmly near the bar. “Oh my goddess!” he shouted dramatically, his voice echoing loudly through the crowded room, making several patrons turn and stare. “It’s Ranni-sama! I knew you were real! This isekai isn’t starting to suck anymore!”
“...”
…What?
I narrowed my eyes instantly, my tails twitching with sudden irritation. My protective and possessive instincts flared immediately. My fingers curled instinctively, a faint crackle of blue fire sparking silently at my fingertips before I forced myself to take a slow, calming breath.
Easy, Haru. No extreme violence in your own restaurant. I reminded myself sternly. My eyes flickered briefly toward Ranni. I could clearly see by her calm, indifferent expression that she had no clue who this human was.
Obviously not, but that didn’t stop Milim from teasing her!
Milim burst into laughter at the stranger’s dramatic declaration. She leaned back, kicking her legs gleefully as she pointed at the guy in delight. “Hehehe! Hey, Ranni-chan, you know this weirdo human?” Milim asked teasingly.
“Nay, Milim,” Ranni replied coolly, her smooth voice carefully neutral. “I know not this mortal.”
The human’s expression faltered, and he stepped toward Ranni, desperation clearly written on his face. “What do you mean? We got married! I put the ring on your finger and everything!” He pressed dramatically, gesturing wildly with his hands. “I’m your Elden Lord, remember? It’s me, Kazuma!”
“...”
…WHAT DID HE JUST SAY?!
The restaurant around us went completely silent.
I felt my eye twitch violently at the words “we got married.” Something inside my chest flared hotter, and it took every ounce of self-control I had not to leap across the room and burn the guy right on the spot. This was my restaurant, and some random human was openly disrespecting my Goddess right in front of me!
I growled softly under my breath, but before I could do anything rash, Ranni’s posture changed suddenly. She went rigid, her expression darkening dangerously. Her eyes narrowed sharply, ice-blue sparks flickering ominously within them.
“How darest thou declare such drivel and nonsense,” Ranni hissed quietly, the gentle politeness in her tone now completely replaced by frosty disdain. Her voice grew colder, heavier, and the temperature in the restaurant plummeted noticeably. I saw several customers shiver, their breath coming out in visible puffs of mist as a layer of ice crystals began creeping slowly across nearby tabletops.
“W-wait!” Kazuma stammered nervously, suddenly aware of his huge mistake. He threw up his hands defensively, his eyes widening with panic. “I-I’m sorry, Ranni-sama! I didn’t mean it like that—I was just—”
Ranni’s hand rose in a fluid, elegant motion, her four fingers curled gracefully as she cast a freezing spell. “Silence, foolish mortal,” she commanded sharply.
Kazuma’s desperate apology was abruptly cut short as solid ice erupted from the floor beneath him, swiftly encasing him from the neck down in a thick block of ice. His eyes widened comically, teeth chattering loudly in shock and cold.
“S-so c-cold!” Kazuma whimpered pathetically, his face going pale as he tried to wriggle his frozen body. “P-please forgive me! I’m sorry!”
The entire restaurant had fallen silent, everyone staring at the trapped human with varying levels of amusement and disbelief. Milim was practically rolling around on her bar stool in helpless laughter, tears of mirth sparkling in her eyes. “Hehehehe! Maybe you’re more fun than I thought, Blue!”
"Thou are hereby banished from my beloved's restaurant until thou learnest some proper manners and to cease blurting such disgusting, slanderous drivel!" Ranni declared fiercely.
Before anyone could even blink, she raised one of her delicate blue hands and sharply snapped her fingers. Immediately, the frozen human—Kazuma—vanished from sight. A faint, chilly mist lingered briefly where he had stood, slowly dissipating into nothingness.
The entire restaurant sat quiet for a long moment before returning slowly to its usual lively buzz. They’d all seen weirder shit go down at this point. To them this was just dinner and a show.
Ranni exhaled a deep, dignified huff, her shoulders slumping just a tiny bit. She moved toward the counter, visibly frustrated and pouting.
I leaned on the wooden counter.
"So, Ranni," I began, tilting my head curiously at her. "You wanna explain what all that was about?"
"Yeah, we're curious too!”
“That was weird!”
“Ufufufu, seeing him frozen so viciously was HOT!”
I glanced over as Rias, Naruko, and Akeno approached us. Rias had her arms crossed beneath her large chest. Naruko stood next to her, fluffy tails twitching curiously, and beside her, Akeno covered a soft giggle behind her hand, clearly amused by the recent drama.
A loud, boisterous laugh echoed from farther down the bar. I turned slightly to see Tsunade grinning broadly as she downed another cup of sake, clearly entertained by the whole situation. "That was funny as fuck!" Tsunade exclaimed heartily, setting down her cup loudly and motioning immediately for another refill from her apprentice next to her.
Shizune sat anxiously beside her, her expression worried as she gently placed a restraining hand on Tsunade's arm. "Please, Lady Tsunade, try to go easy on the sake," she pleaded softly.
Tsunade scoffed dismissively, waving away Shizune’s concern. "Relax, Shizune. I'm barely even tipsy yet!" she insisted cheerfully.
I returned my focus to Ranni, noticing the faint embarrassment now evident in her posture. Her delicate features softened as she glanced shyly in my direction.
"Mine apologies, beloved," Ranni said softly, lowering her eyes slightly. "I did not foresee something of that nature occurring. Had I considered it more carefully, I might have anticipated such encounters…"
"Don't worry about it, Ranni. It's fine," I told her. "But why exactly did that happen anyway?"
Ranni sighed softly, placing two of her four hands gracefully on the countertop, her slender fingers curling slightly in thought. "As thou art aware, Haru, I hath used mine divine powers to connect thy restaurant to numerous worlds," she explained calmly. "When connections to such a multitude of realms are made, unusual interactions can occasionally occur."
"Interactions?" Rias asked curiously for us all.
"Indeed. 'Tis something referred to as cosmic bleed-over," Ranni clarified. "Some events in certain worlds become so impactful that they ripple through the aether, the mystical fabric between realms. Occasionally, these ripples allow individuals from entirely separate worlds to become aware—however vaguely—of beings or stories that exist far beyond their own."
I tilted my head thoughtfully. "So you're saying this guy—Kazuma, was it?—probably came from a world where someone somehow learned about your life?"
“Boring! I want more drama!” Milim interrupted.
Ranni shot her a glare. “You will be silent or I will banish you next, pink menace!”
“...I’ll be good…” Milim immediately replied. Glancing at me for aid, but it’s not like I had the power to stop Ranni from kicking people out if she wanted to.
Ranni continued to answer the question. Smiling gently at me as she spoke, "Clearly, some mortal in that fool's own world must have glimpsed pieces of mine story. Perhaps they transcribed those glimpses into fiction or legends. However—" She paused, eyes narrowing in annoyance, "—I hath no idea what madness led that delusional mortal to believe it permissible to declare us married."
“Hmmm, I wonder what people think about me in other universes?” Rias asked out loud.
“Ufufufu! I hope they think lewd things about me…” Akeno added.
“Gross!” Naruko grumbled, crossing her arms and grimacing.
Ranni exhaled softly, clearly frustrated but trying to regain her normally calm composure.
I reached gently across the counter, softly placing my hand over one of her smaller, delicate blue hands. Her skin was cool, smooth, and soothing beneath my fingertips. I didn’t want to let go.
"You know," I began lightly, a teasing smile playing on my lips, "I'll admit I wanted to burn that Kazuma guy to ashes a few minutes ago. But looking back on it now… it really was some pretty good entertainment. And your reaction was adorable."
Ranni's cheeks darkened faintly. A beautiful, gentle blush that made her features even lovelier. "Oh? Thou findest amusement in mine embarrassment?" she asked softly, pretending to look offended but clearly more shy than annoyed.
I chuckled warmly, softly rubbing my thumb across the back of her delicate hand. "Come on, my beautiful goddess. Even you have to admit that was pretty hilarious."
"Haru's right! Seeing you freeze that idiot was priceless!" Naruko said with a mischievous grin.
Akeno smiled gently, covering another quiet giggle with her hand. "Ara, I think everyone here would agree it was quite amusing."
Tsunade raised her cup in the air again, chuckling merrily. "I second that! Cheers to the goddess freezing dumbasses!" she declared loudly. “Can you come do that to some of the idiodic villagers I have to manage? I feel like getting literally blue balled from the cold will teach them all to start doing better!”
Shizune sighed softly, shaking her head helplessly as she gently patted drunk Tsunade's shoulder. "Lady Tsunade, please…"
The group around us laughed warmly, the atmosphere lightening considerably. Even Ranni allowed herself a tiny, graceful smile, finally giving in to the playful mood. She glanced at me fondly.
"Very well," she murmured softly. "Perhaps I shall concede that mine actions were amusing…."
With that out of the way, I started to ask Ranni what had happened while she was on the continent of this new world with Kunou, Tanya and Maelle.
Ranni scoffed before saying they ran into the “most irritating man”—twice over in fact!
More twins? I wondered.
– Kazuma –
Suddenly, in a disorienting swirl of icy mist he was somehow transported right into the center of the Adventurers' Guild! He struggled to move, but the ice held him completely in place, pinning his arms tightly against his sides.
A moment of shocked silence swept across the entire guild hall as everyone stared wide-eyed at Kazuma, their conversations abruptly halted by his unexpected appearance. A single tense heartbeat passed, and then the entire room erupted into loud, uncontrollable laughter!
“Hahahah!”
“What’s wrong with him?”
“Did he try to hit on a frost witch or something? What a dumbass!?”
Kazuma groaned loudly, feeling his face turn red with embarrassment as countless amused gazes locked onto him. He wiggled his head furiously, desperately trying to break free or at least move a little, but his body remained completely frozen within the ice.
"C-Come on, guys! Quit laughing and help me!" Kazuma pleaded loudly, desperation clear in his voice. "Someone use some fire magic or something! I'm gonna freeze to death here!"
From a nearby table, Aqua stood up shakily, holding her stomach as tears of laughter rolled freely down her cheeks. She stumbled over, nearly tripping twice as she giggled helplessly at Kazuma's unfortunate predicament. "Oh my gosh! Kazuma, what the hell happened to you?!" Aqua wheezed, pointing at him as she continued to laugh uncontrollably.
"Not funny, Aqua!" Kazuma snapped irritably. "Hurry up and get me out of this!"
"Actually, it's pretty funny," Aqua snickered, doubling over and clutching her sides, gasping for breath.
Darkness stepped up behind Aqua, her blue eyes widening as she stared in astonishment at Kazuma's frozen state. Her cheeks flushed brightly, and she bit her bottom lip, looking strangely jealous. "K-Kazuma..." Darkness moaned softly, fidgeting uncomfortably as she stared with envy. "Why didn't anyone freeze me like this? It looks so…so humiliatingly helpless…"
Kazuma shot Darkness a deeply annoyed look. "Seriously?! You're jealous right now?!" he shouted, incredulous. "I'm literally freezing to death, Darkness!"
From behind Darkness, Megumin walked over calmly, placing one hand thoughtfully beneath her chin as she studied Kazuma's icy prison with a careful gaze. Her large wizard hat tilted slightly as she leaned closer, considering him seriously. "Hmm…" Megumin finally said, nodding firmly. "Kazuma, I could totally fix this problem. Just say the word, and I'll blow this ice to smithereens with my Explosion magic!"
"ABSOLUTELY NOT!" Every adventurer inside the guild hall immediately shouted together, voices echoing through the room.
Megumin flinched in surprise, her mouth dropping open in a startled pout as she crossed her arms grumpily. "Hey, that's rude!" she protested loudly. "I was just trying to help!"
"Help?!" Kazuma shouted in disbelief, staring at Megumin with wide eyes. "Your explosion magic would blow ME up along with the ice, Megumin! How is that helping?!"
Aqua's laughter increased even louder at Kazuma's panic, and she collapsed dramatically onto the wooden floor, rolling back and forth as her body shook with laughter. "Oh, Kazuma! You—hahaha—you look so dumb right now!" Aqua gasped between giggles. "This is the best day ever!"
Kazuma groaned loudly, closing his eyes briefly as embarrassment and irritation burned hotly through his frozen body. The guild hall was packed with adventurers laughing at his humiliation, and Aqua's hysterical laughter only made everything worse.
A gentle, worried voice suddenly spoke beside him. Kazuma opened his eyes and saw Luna, the guild receptionist, stepping carefully through the laughing crowd, a concerned expression on her gentle face as she approached him.
She was always so nice to him!
"Goodness, Kazuma. Are you okay?" Luna asked softly, leaning down slightly to meet his gaze. "What in the world happened to you?"
Kazuma sniffled dramatically, feeling genuine self-pity rise up inside him as he stared mournfully back at Luna. "It's not fair, Luna! Life is totally unfair!" Kazuma whined loudly, tears welling dramatically in his eyes. "All I wanted was to go have a nice meal at that new restaurant in town. But then my Goddess completely rejected me and froze me in ice! She didn't even let me try the food there—it's all just so unfair!" he sniffled.
“The hell do you mean your Goddess?” Aqua asked, looking annoyed all of a sudden. “I’m the only Goddess around here!” she declared and put her hands on her hips.
Everyone else just rolled their eyes. No one believed her at this point.
Megumin's ears immediately perked up curiously at his words. “Wait a second, Kazuma. Did you just say there's a new restaurant in town?"
