The Genjutsu Devil of Konoha
Chapter 125: Me...a Shinigami.(125)
Anyway, after handing the Uchiha Clan a cheat code, Seijuro was now back in his lab.
He was working on something.
Something rather important.
If you were wondering what?
Well, it was simple.
A sample of Nagato's Rinnegan chakra.
Seijuro stood before it, fingers steepled, eyes narrowed in contemplation.
He had analyzed its components over the last week. What he found wasn't just... interesting.
It was borderline heretical.
"Uchiha... and Senju chakra signatures."
Those were the two chakra natures he sensed. Yet, even then, he felt two powerful souls... Actually, they didn't feel that strong to him—but compared to the average soul, they were very powerful.
Though compared to his soul?
They were weak.
Oh well. Nothing he could do about it.
Time to research this shit a bit more.
Then—ping.
He stiffened.
There were two distinct presences within the sample.
Two souls.
Both powerful. Ancient. Fused.
"...Huh."
That was new.
He paused. Then, reaching into his pouch, he uncorked a small vial of healing fluid—the enzyme-laced liquid Katsuyu used to repair DNA damage and enhance chakra receptivity.
Some fancy shit he'd been given.
Getting Nawaki Wood Style was still on his to-do list, but for now, he had to scratch this particular itch.
He let a few drops fall into the tank.
Immediately, the sample reacted—glowing faintly violet for a moment before stabilizing.
"Now for the fun part," he muttered, kneeling to draw a new seal on the floor.
He then entered Sage Mode, his eyes transforming as nature chakra flowed into him.
And then—Mitosis Technique.
His body split cleanly in two. Perfect division, down to the chakra network.
Each clone now held the chakra of about two captured Bijū. Still Kage-level, still dangerous. Physical stats slightly reduced, but illusions? Unchanged.
His clone got to work.
Putting on an Uzumaki Mask, the clone began the summoning process.
Dead Demon Consuming Seal.
The room dimmed.
The temperature dropped.
And then—boom.
The Shinigami appeared.
The area froze. Shadows stretched unnaturally. The clone felt a rush of energy—but Seijuro himself?
He felt... bored.
Hm. What a pathetic amount of spiritual pressure.
As the Shinigami stared directly at him...
The reaper quivered.
He... flinched.
Was that fear?
Seijuro frowned.
The Shinigami could see his true essence. And what it saw wasn't a man.
It was a god.
Or something close.
A being on the cusp of Soul King-level. Crippled or not, that level of soul potency wasn't something the Shinigami could ignore.
If Seijuro had spiritual pressure, he'd probably be crushing this reaper to the floor with it right now.
Ever since he was born, Seijuro had been overloaded with Yin energy. He never knew why. It made his illusions terrifying, sure—but there was a reason for it.
One he hadn't uncovered yet.
Ignoring the reaper, Seijuro nodded to his clone.
"Separate them."
The clone obeyed, the Uzumaki Mask allowing the Shinigami to follow his command.
The Rinnegan sample shimmered—chakra twisted.
And then—two phantoms emerged. Ethereal outlines, flickering in the air like fragile candlelight.
The first burned hot with Uchiha chakra. But there was something else—darker. Older. Almost bitter.
The second?
It felt... warm. Like sunlight through leaves. Senju chakra. And more than that—undeniable Senjutsu.
"...Senjutsu?" Seijuro muttered.
He focused deeper.
No.
Not just any senjutsu.
Hashirama's.
He could feel the resonance. It mirrored the slug sage training Katsuyu had taught him—but richer. Wilder. Rooted in the rawness of nature.
"This must've been how the Rinnegan formed," he murmured. "The fusion of these two... souls... chakra lineages..."
He stepped back from the seal.
"If I could get some of Hashirama's cells... and with this residual energy from the Rinnegan... I could replicate the balance. Maybe even... awaken it."
He paused, tapping his chin.
"But I'm still missing something. The other half. It's not just Uchiha and Senju. There's... another flavor."
Frowning, he enhanced his sensory field with another burst of sage chakra.
There it was.
Faint.
Ancient.
"...Chakra that doesn't belong to either clan."
He narrowed his eyes.
Divine?
No. Not divine.
But primeval.
Something older than the clans. Before the Hidden Villages. Before chakra control was a science.
Wait...
"Could it be... that chakra?" he whispered.
The whispers of a progenitor came to mind. The myth. The being said to have stood above even the founders.
The rabbit goddess.
He stepped back, breath short, anticipation building.
If he could get another Rinnegan sample...
He might not even need to recreate the DNA blend.
He could grow it.
"Science," he muttered, a grin twitching at the edge of his mouth, "is so damn fun."
The reaper, still hovering silently, finally moved.
Its voice rasped like wind through bones.
"You wish to know the names of these two souls."
Seijuro blinked. "...You're talking now?"
"You are owed the knowledge."
The reaper raised its hand, bony fingers pointing toward the flickering spirits.
"Indra. And Asura."
Seijuro's eyes narrowed. Who the fuck were those people.
"They have reincarnated many times. Their last vessels were known to you—Madara... and Hashirama."
That... tracked.
Seijuro's expression didn't change, but internally, pieces started clicking into place.
"Why tell me this?" he asked sharply. "You're a death god, not a gossip."
The Shinigami... bowed its head slightly.
"Lower reapers answer to stronger ones. I obey the one above me."
The being began to fade, its voice growing distant.
"And you, old one... are above me."
With that final, cryptic sentence, the Shinigami vanished.
Leaving Seijuro alone.
Standing in silence.
Mouth a little open.
"...What?"
Was that thing saying he was a Shinigami?
No, no, that didn't make sense.
Or...
Before Aizen could think much more.....
{Shit, look like I mess up a bit...let me just....}
Seijuro held his head in pain, hm, something felt a bit off, his thoughts seem to be a jumble mess now, jeez he was a mess.
Oh well, whatever he was thinking couldn't be that important, he will be fine.
He didn't even realised that he had fused back with his clone.
A/N wonder how many people noticed the name switch.
