CHAPTER 157: AMBROSE WAS ANGRY

***Author’s Note: This Chapter is a redone Chapter from the Ruthless Alpha, it does have some differences so even if you’ve read this Chapter before you will find there is more details revealed here***

Ambrose was sitting in the conference room, processing the news. He couldn’t believe what he heard. The anger in him was boiling over.

His wolf was restless, pacing in his mind. Howling in agony upon hearing about what happened to one of his packs. The brutality of the slaughter.

The maiden did this? All of his sources had said she’s the softest queen that’s ever ruled.

"How sure are we it was Violet and not that dragon bitch?" he asked the man crippled and bloodied in front of him. A few people escaped but only four made it to the palace, including the late alpha’s daughter, she was shaken and riddled with fear, her terror made her mute.

"My King, because the dragon was spotted, this was most certainly the Queen." One survivor spoke with a shaky voice.

’Princess... You’ll pay for your mother’s crimes. You’ll pay for all the innocent lives your family took.’ He thought angrily to himself. His malice was burning not just him but everyone in the room.

His face darkened; he could feel the shadow descending around them.

The rooms occupants felt paralyzed with fear, the fury they felt from their Alpha king was far too much to carry.

"Alpha... I know what you’re thinking, but don’t go there, don’t do something you’ll regret."

"Oh, I won’t regret this." He growled before turning and taking off.

For the first time, since they were told the news, wolf was silent. He didn’t know if he should be bothered by it.

He could feel his beta chasing after him, Ambrose stopped and turned to face him. "Back off, and go manage the survivors, that’s an order. I will punish my slave as I see fit." he snarled angrily at him. His blazed with fury.

"You’re going to regret this. And I won’t help you fix it this time. It’s not her fault." Damon said through the channel.

Ambrose just ignored him and barged into his room.

When he saw she wasn’t there, it made him angrier. He started thrashing his room, he threw a lamp against the wall. Knocked his bookshelves over, shoving the paper from his desk. He flipped desk after. Punched the mirror, shattering it. Blood covered his knuckles. Where was she? Who was she with? That’s when he noticed the time, she’d be with the servants eating.

He stormed over there, and when he found her having a good time with his people, it set his insides on fire. ’How dare she enjoy the company of anyone other than me. How dare she enjoy herself while her mother is killing innocent children.’ His jealously stoked the fire built by rage.

"Ambrose don’t. Stop." Onyx tried to stop Ambrose, but his pleas fell on deaf ears.

He was blinded by his rage

Ambrose snatched her up by her hair and drag her out of the kitchen hollering and kicking.

He didn’t care that she screamed, he could barely hear what she was saying the rage that burned inside him made him see nothing but red. He could barely breathe his anger and pain were suffocating.

Ambrose lost it when she punched him in the face, hard. The fury in her eyes. It burned him.

He threw her around the room, ripped her up by her hair. He kicked her, and still he didn’t feel better and that pissed him off more.

Ambrose charged at her, she tried to roll out of his reach moving, but he was fast. Kicking her hard, she flew sideways into one of his pillars. the breath was shoved out of her from the force of his kick. She could feel it, he cracked a few ribs.

"Why are you doing this?" She yelled at him. The pain was crippling. She didn’t have fast enough healing abilities. Especially with how little she’s fed and the collar restricting her power.

"You want to know why I’m so angry?" He screamed approaching swiftly with devasting speed.

She scooted backwards holding her ribs, she winched from agony every time she moved.

"Your mother leveled an entire village of wolves." He was shaking with rage his eyes still a bright blinding gold "Even the fucking children, Odette, she killed children."

She couldn’t hold it in I bust out in hysterical laughter.

’How dare she laugh’ he thought rushing to her and he slapped her silent.

She furrowed my brows. ’Whoever told him my mother did any killing is lying sack of shit or an idiot, he must be talking about my mammy, they look near identical. But mammy has black dragon horns protruding out of her head. She’s also absolutely capable of leveling a town, she turns into a freaking fire breathing dragon for shit’s sake.’ She growled in her mind

"My mother is literally the absolute most harmless person the entire world. She’s practically a capybara. Whoever told you it was my mother, even missed the dragon horns or is lying to you." She sputtered; the pain made her breathing staggered. Her mouth tasted like she swallowed a handful of pennies.

"No there was a black dragon, so no it wasn’t your wicked great-grandmother, it was your mother." He snapped.

She couldn’t help it, she laughed again, this time even louder. None of it was funny, it was just ridiculous and impossible,’ she thought, her mom wouldn’t even kill a spider, she’d catch it and free it.

That was the last straw for him. Because he ripped her up by her throat and squeezed. She couldn’t breathe. She clawed and ripped at his skin, kicking and thrashing in his grip. But he remained completely unfazed by her attacks.

Her eyes pleaded to stop, to release her.

Stars started to dance in her vision, darkness circled her sight. The black tunnel getting smaller and the light was getting further away. Finally consuming her. She felt the last beat of her heart before going limp in his grasp.

Ambrose hadn’t noticed at first, he just kept squeezing.

"Ambrose, stop, you killed her. I don’t hear her heartbeat. Ambrose, fucking do something, or I’ll leave, I’ll leave for good, you won’t have a wolf." Onyx growled at him threateningly.

The realization slammed into him like a bat. He killed her.

’’No... No... No... No... No... What have I done?’’ Ambrose said to his wolf.

"Save her... Fix this... Fix it now!" Onyx was yelling panicked in his mind.

Pain, the kind that could break a man erupted through him and Onyx.

Ambrose started preforming CPR. Lifting her chin and pulling her forehead back, widening her mouth he plugged her nose he put my mouth over hers and pushed his breath into her mouth forcefully 5 times. And then he started chest compressions. 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... until he reached 30 and then he blew in her mouth again, repeat. Finally, she gasped loudly inhaling, he watched the oxygen slamming into her chest. He fell backwards, his heart pounding, his breathing was rapid.

***Author’s note: This is proper CPR form, and it will do you good to remember it, because you never know when you might need it. I have needed to use it. Learn CPR and save a life***

She coughed profusely trying to catch the rest of her breath. And then she looked at him.

He felt the kind of break in his chest that he hasn’t felt since the day his parents died.

The look in her eyes, it was betrayal, the expression on her face, hatred and disgust.

He tried to reach for her slowly and she scooted back quicker than he could blink.

Fear clutched her chest at the thought of him being near her.

"Don’t touch me. Don’t you dare touch me." Her voice was hoarse and raspy, trembled with each word.

’What have I done...’ Ambrose felt the guilt and shame slam into him.

"I’m sorry."

She didn’t say anything, she just looked away from him. The hurt etched on her face was agonizing to see.

’I fucked up, I hurt her.’ He whispered in his mind.

"You, sure as shit did. Real piece of work you are." Onyx growled at him.

"I’m sorry, say something..."

She tucked her knees to her chest and shutting herself off from him entirely.

"She’s never going to forgive you." Onyx moaned sadly, knowing that he would be effected by his stupid decision.

"I know. But what can I do?" Ambrose begged the question more than asked.

"Whatever it takes. She’s special, we need her. I need her. I can’t lose her."

"Why the hell didn’t you stop me?" He tried to share the blame with his wolf.

"I tried, you couldn’t hear me, you were too far gone."

"Fuck." Ambrose wanted to punch himself in the face

"Beta Damon." He said through the channel.

"No, absolutely not." He answered Ambrose firmly, ready to disobey his Alpha.

"Damon now." He ordered Damon.

"You made your choice when you walked away. Your mess, you fix it." Damon growled back at Ambrose.

"Now. That’s an order." Ambrose was in no mood for anyone’s defiance.

Damon growled into the channel at him.

He just sat in the room across from her, neither one of them moved an inch.

Odette hadn’t looked up at him since she woke up. She hadn’t said a word, not a single word.

She was fuming with rage. She felt embarrassed and ashamed for being so weak, and stupid for believing Ambrose wasn’t the ruthless king everyone said him to be.

Knocking at the door pulled them away from their thoughts.

"Come in Damon." He answered.

Damon came in and immediately noticed the entire room smashed.

"What did you do, Ambrose. Shit." Damon said scratching the back of his head. Ambrose could see the disappointment plastered on his beta’s face.

Then Damon noticed her against the wall.

Ambrose’s little princess curled into herself like a tiny scared and broken child.

He watched as Damon walked to her. kneeling down in front of her. reaching out and touching her. Seeing her flinch.

"Hey there, nice to see you again. Not looking to good right now, how about we get out of here and go to the kitchen. I heard you like to bake." Damon spoke quietly.

She peeked up from her knees and nodded. Ambrose watched as his beta extended his hand to her, and she took it.

’How did he know she baked? How are they so close, close enough she’d trust him. Close enough she’d leave him without a second thought.’ Ambrose’s jealousy rose once again.

He watched from his spot on the floor. Watched as she left my room without looking back.

He felt like all the light in his life just left with her.

"What is wrong with me? She is supposed to be my prisoner. Why do I care that she’s scared of me. Good, she should be. It’s what I wanted."

"Isn’t it?"
